Nine HD is an Australian television channel, owned by PBL Media, that will launch on March 17, 2007.[1] The channel will be available to high definition digital television viewers in metropolitan areas through a number of owned-and-operated and affiliate stations.
Programming
At its launch, Nine HD will simulcast blocks of programming from the Nine Network, in addition to time-shifted news and entertainment programs.[1] It will also feature new programming such as documentaries, mini-series and movies.[1] Wide World of Sport's Friday Night National Rugby League coverage will also be simulcast onto the channel from the Nine Network.[1]
Availability
Nine HD will be available exclusively in 1080i high definition from PBL Media's three metropolitan owned-and-operated stations, TCN Sydney, GTV Melbourne and QTQ Brisbane. Nine HD programming will also be carried via WIN Corporation's two metropolitan stations NWS Adelaide, and STW Perth.[1] It is not known whether the Nine Network's regional affiliates, WIN Television, NBN Television and Imparja Television, will carry the new multichannel.
