Sony Entertainment Television Asia is an international general entertainment channel owned by SPE Networks - Asia is a part of Sony Pictures Television International. SPTI's diverse international networks portfolio consists of over 40 television networks around the world. SPTI is a Sony Pictures Entertainment company.

The Hindi-Language Programming

Since its debut in 1995, Sony Entertainment Television Asia, popularly known as SET Asia, is one of India’s popular Hindi-language based international general entertainment broadcasters. Based in the United Kingdom, it is a venture promoted by Sony Pictures Entertainment since 1998. SET Asia is available in several countries and regions, including Australia, Canada, Europe, Pakistan,the Middle East, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. SET Max, the network's Bollywood movie channel, is available in the Middle East, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

SET Asia's programming is targeted towards family audiences. The programming covers genres including drama, reality, comedy, horror, Bollywood, and live events. Some of its most successful programmes to date include Indian Idol, an adaptation of the worldwide Pop Idol format owned by FremantleMedia, and Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin ("There is no one like Jassi"), an adaptation of the Colombian telenovela Betty la fea.

Today, SET Asia features several programs that connect the South Asian community overseas. View Asia, a weekly program produced in the United Kingdom, showcases live events and news that are important to the South Asian diaspora. SET Asia recently aired Bigg Boss, the Indian adaption of Big Brother, and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, the Indian adaptation of Dancing with the Stars.

The Stylish, Sexy, Smart Era in the Southeast Asian Region

Redebut in August 1, 2008, Sony Entertainment Television (SET) Asia in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia is an 24/7 English entertainment channel from SPE Networks – Asia, which owns and operates cable channels AXN and Animax, and is part of Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI). SET in Hong Kong and Singapore is devoted to serving the interests of discerning, urban career women. This trendsetting channel provides smart entertainment – sexy, chic, sophisticated and witty shows – with strong female leads, and features a variety of programme genres such as lifestyle, drama, comedy and reality.

Delivering top-notch, first-run programmes and all-time-favourites from the U.S., SET was launched in Singapore on SingTel’s mio TV platform in July 2007. SET is hosted too on now TV platform in Hong Kong.
