=="Beat it" is rock, not R&B ==

Hi, CarpetCrawler . Beat it's article has false information and contradictions. I know very well Jackson's music.

Pyrrhus16 doesn't know about genres, he doesn't know the American Culture. If he doesn't know about genres, he must not edit in wikipedia. He must learn to read and understand his sources.

HIS SOURCE Stylus said: "There’s a nervy, frenetic, epic opener (“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’”), some jazzy R&B numbers (“Baby Be Mine,” “P.Y.T.”), a conceptual, campy, dancefloor banger (title track), rock-dance (“Beat It”), stories (“Billie Jean”), a duet with the former King of Pop (“The Girl Is Mine” with the irrepressibly silly Paul McCartney), and the smoothest of ballads (“Human Nature”)."

STYLUS SAID:"rock-dance (“Beat It”)", IT MEANS "BEAT IT" IS ROCK.
THE PART:" Eddie Van Halen performs a metal guitar solo—on an R&B record!" , R&B record is refered to Thriller album.

RECORD = ALBUM ------------> R&B record ------> "Thriller" album

SINGLE = SONG ------------> Rock song -------> "Beat It" song

You can read it in:http://www.stylusmagazine.com/articles/diamond/michael-jackson-thriller.htm

Pyrrhus16 UNDERSTAND WRONG HIS OWN SOURCE. ALSO ALL THRILLER REVIEWS SAYS "BEAT IT" IS ROCK MUSIC. Rolling Stone said "BEAT IT" IS ROCK MUSIC. Stephen Thomas Eewerline of All Music Guide says "Beat It" is hard rock.

About "Beat It", Michael Jackson is quoted in Rolling Stone magazine's Top 500 songs issue as saying of this, "I wanted to write the type of rock song that I would go out and buy. But also something totally different from the rock music I was hearing on Top 40 radio."
YOU CAN READ IT IN: http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=459

IF MICHAEL SAID THAT "BEAT IT" IS ROCK MUSIC, IT IS ALL.
BILLIE JEAN IS R&B. "BEAT IT" IS ROCK OR HARD ROCK, NOT R&B. WIKIPEDIA MUST HAVE CREDIBILITY. YOU CAN HELP.
Thanks

Cyndi Lauper

Hey I saw your addition to True Blue. Its so good. Also I'll definitely help you out with the Cyndi Lauper song, one of my old favourites along with Time After Time. You can also check out hte referencs i have been using for the madonna pages. Cyndi's songs will be there in the same references. --Legolas (talktome) 04:45, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a big fan of both but bigger maybe for Madonna. I was born 85, time when both of them rose like phoenix. That's why I thought Madonna articles needed special attention and thought of developing them. I should thank both you and Frcm1988 for teaching me good editing for GA. I'll help you out. I'm good at finding info from books. --Legolas (talktome) 05:01, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
He he. no, we definitely cannot use a student's paper. So that means you are a student right? What are you studying? I miss my college days :( Well I studied Chemical Engineering and atpresent in IT. PS I'll definitely find out something for the song. Don't worry. --Legolas (talktome) 05:26, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ohh OK. Then I'll add some info regarding the Writing and inspiration of the song. Its 5.15 pm here now.--Legolas (talktome) 11:46, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I added the commentary for the chart performance, it was needed. Tomorrow I'll write about the music video and live performances. I got info. Cheers!!! I have to start working on True Blue the album though :( --Legolas (talktome) 13:20, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well I am not feeling that well today and haven't been able to develop the last few days, hence the long face. If I'm able to then today i'll add about the music video. Sorry for the delay. True Blue is a great album--Legolas (talktome) 03:41, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

OMG, thanks Carpet, truly surprising. Thank you very much. Frcm1988 (talk) 18:01, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PS, I took the liberty to add the references of the chart positions in your sandbox, hope you didn't mind. I couldn't find the one for New Zealand and I don't think the single was certified by the RIAA. I left them anyway. Hope this helps. Frcm1988 (talk) 18:57, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, although someone already oppose about the images, maybe I have to erase one of them. Frcm1988 (talk) 19:39, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I know, I left a message in the user's talk page, I hope s(he) explain the comments. PS, I added a little bit of info on your sandbox about the credits and the track listing. I have the album She's So Unusual, so if you found some info about the composition I will update a sample of the song. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 05:07, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No need to thank me, Im glad someone is improving a Cyndi Lauper article. Maybe I will do one of her songs in the future, perhaps "True Colors" or "I Drove All Night". Just need to find the time right now, and maybe I will start after the "Papa Don't Preach" FAC ends. And just as me and Legolas are collaborating on the Madonna's songs, we can do the same on the Cyndi Lauper's articles, ohh and don't forget about Blondie. If I add the songs I wanted to do before I started "Papa Don't Preach" my future projects list becomes very BIG, I don't know if I ever going to finish:) Frcm1988 (talk) 06:10, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The thing that really bothers me is the cover versions, for example "Time After Time" have a LOTTT of them, and is even worse when there is a notable cover like with "I Drove All Night", I can't even consider to erase the Celine Dion infobox, because a horde of her fans will start reverting, is like doing two articles. Just like I did with "Take on Me". There is more info about "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", but I always believe that is more difficult to do the signature songs, like "Like a Virgin". I wish more people will start improving 80s songs, some of them are really bad articles, only useless trivia, and another have very protective editors. I always wanted to do "Don't You Want Me", "Self Control", "Cars" and "Bette Davis Eyes"; not much info unfortunately, maybe if I digg a little further. Frcm1988 (talk) 06:49, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it is stuck right now, there's nothing I can do. I really can't copyedit that part, that is why I asked another user to help me but he is not too active at the moment. Maybe I wouldn't be to active these days because of the Holy Week, not that Im very religious, but in my country is very common to travel because of the long holiday. I will try to keep watching the articles, but just to be sure could you please watchlist the article, Im not sure if the United States celebrate this holiday (assuming you are from there). Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 03:50, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings back

Doing OK. The comic articles appear to going through their next stage of growth, and while there's some minor disagreements re: finer points, it looks like the overall standard is improving. Asgardian (talk) 00:43, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done with the improvements! :D You are now free to go and check out the article. If you have any more concerns with the article, feel free to say them on the review page. Thanks!  Dylanlip  (talk) 17:46, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fuck the Facts GA

Thanks. Someone else came along, stating a whole section could be OR. I ended up failing it because it did not have sufficient RS for me to pass it. -- Sk8er5000 (talk) 21:41, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Feel Better

Wow. Thanks man!! --Legolas (talktome) 05:52, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey man. I already did. Cahnged the prose so that no copying is assumed. --Legolas (talktome) 06:09, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oops! Somehow I missed it. I will make it better don't worry. --Legolas (talktome) 06:28, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm back!!! Feeling much better. I think your balloons helped. :) --Legolas (talk2me) 12:16, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Was really not well. Now that I've come back I'll be editing more. But somehow I'm stuck at the True Blue album :(. Can't find enough concrete information for hte developemnt. Oh well lets hope for the best. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:29, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Carpet. I did beef it up a little bit. Could you check it out a little? Its in my sandbox. Then you can tell me what else is missing, I still have to add Chart performance though, I will ask Frcm to help me out for that. He's good with charts. Also info related to the music videos I'll add it in the singles section. That will expand that also. Let me know sweeets~ :) --Legolas (talk2me) 03:45, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Crummy day?? Wooo. What happened? Even I'm having a crummy day too here on WP. Some user is hell bent on trolling me. --Legolas (talk2me) 11:04, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(Outdent)Best of luck on it. He he, relationship wise I'll prefer singledom at present. --Legolas (talk2me) 11:16, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know. But there should be a limit to his insolence and stubborn behaviour. If required I'll fight. That user has even resorted to canvassing like this!!! Cheap man, very cheap. --Legolas (talk2me) 11:20, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely mate. Last time Eric let him go, but this time I won't . He needs to learn the guidelines of WP. Writing essays on pages about why he's right won't do any good. Thing is that banned users are also coming via sockpuppetry and just adding fuel to fire. Really disgusting. Anyways I hope you get your girl.. It will be so cool. P.S. I was in LA the whole last two months and went some other places in States also. Could have met you if I would'hv got to know you earlier. He he. --Legolas (talk2me) 11:27, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ohh I went to New York only once. Its quite similar to the city I stay Bangalore. Actually in LA i saw Lady Gaga's "The Fame Ball Tour". Man It was fabulous!!! And yeah just play it cool with her. Imagine Cyndi's song "True Colors". --Legolas (talk2me) 11:38, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Glad you like it. Actually I'm from Calcutta but at present stay in Bangalore for my job. Miss my family badly. I haven't been able to edit properly my "True Blue" project because of that stupid user and his stupid comments. You should see the number of people he's canvassing like Love.Game, Child Funk and Ninjachucks not to mention a complete disregard for the policies which make up Wikipedia. It's so pathetic man! Anyways did you have the time to take a look. When I was in New York I stayed at 51st street MAnhattan, the Crumpet. It was so much fun. Met an awesome chick there! By the way what happened btw you and your Chica??? --Legolas (talk2me) 04:56, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for looking. But I'm seriously stuck at the charts section. :( Glad you liked Vidyasagar setu:) Me and my friends sometimes used to go there during the sunset and just laze around on a boat on the river. And about 52nd street. One of my favourites. "True Blue" I'll develop further keeping your advice in mind. thanks again. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:45, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(Outdent)It's so cool man :)!!!! Ya I saw Frcm's message. By the way did you see the comments I got at my editor review? I'm so glad. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:09, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The onlyreason I'll wanna be an admin is to teach proper education to people who vandalise or add unsourced statements, and also the drama queens and abusers. Oooo I would love that. I'll try Rfa but not now, I think my edits are too less and I still need to brush up more policies. Efe is a good example of being a good admin as well as a wonderful contributor. Hope he's enjoying his holiday. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:28, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Norman, Is That You?

Thanks for the positive feedback. I am glad you enjoyed the article.Broadweighbabe (talk) 07:31, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes I don't believe the film has been released on DVD yet. I'm not even sure it ever made it onto VHS. Interesting that the movie changed the characters from Jewish to African-American. The movie would make an interesting article as well.Broadweighbabe (talk) 07:39, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I noticed the difference between both covers. There isn't a better version of the original cover so I switched them around. I'll keep a look out for bigger original from time to time. Creaven07 (talk) 15:44, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help!?

Hey, CC how are you? Listen, if that offer still stands with the copy-edit for Brad Pitt's article, I would appreciate the help. Though, if you're busy, then its fine, and understandable. I'm just here, cause I'm wan-de-ring, around. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 01:50, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not the world's best editor, but I try, at least. Either way, I mean, just you know, if you see a sentence that reads odd, just fix it. If you can, it would be most appreciated. :) Same here, hope everything is good with you. Also, thank you for taking a look at Lights and Sounds, I appreciate it. :P --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 18:14, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, I look forward to seeing you at the page. :) Good luck on your first day. ;) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:41, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's cool. I sell shoes for a living. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:53, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting case, though, I disagree. See, I'm a sport's person, and the last thing on my mind comes anything about "sweaty, stinky feet". :) I believe my job is more fascinating. :P --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 20:04, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's all you. :) Alright, I'll give you that, but I get new shoes for a living. :P --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 20:18, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
TBH, I wouldn't recommend those shoes; I would, instead, recommend some Adidas or Pumas. There's nothing negative I can say about comic books, since I do read them. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 20:29, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, well, I'm not a Knicks fan, but a Lakers fan. :) That sucks, I got to meet Kobe Bryant, but I didn't get pushed away, maybe cause I'm a female. :P Yeah, I love comic books, too. Particularly, Batman related ones. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:35, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aw, now we're enemies? :) Yeah, I fixed the date settings in the refs. I was going to do it, just that I kept forgetting. Also, the dates should be "April 12, 2009", since the article is talking about an American person, as told during Kirsten Dunst's FAC. :P --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:52, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hahahaha. :) Don't worry, the dates were set-up like that, but then the setting got messed up and stuff, so its not your fault. Yeah, NJR is talking about a British subject, unlike say, Ten, an American article. :P --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 20:56, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It surely is. :) Yeah, I think we should drop a note to the user working on the song. Three heads are better than one. I think. Its fine, no need to apologize. I'm at work, too. :P --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:22, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Works for me. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:06, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am still searching for info about the music video and Live performance, which I must say is very rare. Whatever Music video info I'm getting badly fails WP:RS, ditto for Live performance. Can you wait for two more days sweety? If I still don't find something reliable then you can go ahead with it. Sorry :( --Legolas (talk2me) 07:36, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Youtube videos will badly fail as WP:RS untill and unless it is from the artist's web page on youtube or the recording company's. I'll take a look. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:55, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Source access

Hi Carpet, by any chance you have access to Fred Bronson's The Billboard Book of Number 1 Hits , I used to have a preview for some pages in Google Book Search, but I used them for "Live to Tell" and "Papa Don't Preach", and now I can't even see the preview :( It must be the stupid copyright laws, maybe it's not available here. I want to do another GA song (but not from Madonna, I think I have enough of her, maybe in the future I will do "Who's That Girl" or "Crazy for You"), I haven't figured out which one but since I love new wave maybe one of Culture Club, Tears for Fears, Blondie or Duran Duran. So if you have access to this book or other sources, please let me know. Frcm1988 (talk) 03:26, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations on your new GA. I love Culture Club, its a shame that their articles are in such bad shape, I even have to create "Time (Clock of the Heart)", which is my favorite. I never found any info about their songs, the writing, recording or the history, so if you found something about any of their songs just let me know, so we can start improving the article, I believe if there is any info it must be about either "Karma Chameleon" or "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me". Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 06:33, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think I see that video on Vh1 a few years ago, can't remember really. Vh1 dosen't pass Pop-up video in my country anymore, but don't worry we will find some info eventually. Frcm1988 (talk) 06:51, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I did a copyedit in the chart performance section, and also did some corrections. I think is ready, if there is no more info available. I think the lead could be improved a bit, other than that I think is ready. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 05:11, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I'm back now. Was too busy in real life to come online for hte last few days. Am planning on a trip to here. But now I'm back I'll be editing ferociously !!!!! --Legolas (talk2me) 08:04, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
He he. I guess so. How have you been? --Legolas (talk2me) 08:07, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm planning on going next weekend. ATTN I still feel needs info about music video (which I embarrasedly say I failed to find any RS) Also the certification table can be removed and instead can be included in prose in the chart performance section, as only a single provider is listed and hence makes it more directory, which should be avoided. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:28, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Superb!!! But I felt bad for Frcm's Papa Don't Preach failing at FAC.:( Coming back I'll viciously finish my "True Blue" album project by EOD. I have to. Its been pending for too long. Then I'll turn back to something new, which I have been developing day by day. Its the Lady Gaga song "Poker Face". I'm lagging a little on the background of it. Then I'll come back to some oldy agian, perhaps Cyndi's "True Colours". You know the problem with Cyndi's songs are that not much is written about them in books hence it is very difficult to enhance them. But I'll see what I can do. I'll check with Efe once. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:40, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ha ha ha. You are abso-crazy-f***kin-lutely right about Cyndi's songs. The book will be heaven to read I presume. Realist is helping me out with the Lady Gaga song. He's a tough one. :) --Legolas (talk2me) 09:00, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK dude. Take your rest. TTYL. --Legolas (talk2me) 12:16, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
