Transfers Article
King, happy to help contribute to the Argentine football section. Hope you rest up in this offseason and come back ready for the new season. -- Discus26 22:12, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Juan David Moreno
Hi, KotNE! The article Juan David Moreno, who is claimed to play for Millonarios in the Copa Mustang, has been recreated after being prodded as being unverifiable. Do you know of any sources that might be used to verify that this chap exists and has actually played for Millonarios? Cheers, --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 15:00, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- Copy of reply at WP:FOOTY - I found this page which includes Juan David Moreno in the Medellín squad (in the grey box to the right). Other than trivial references like this linking him with the "wrong" club, I can find nothing. I'd say AfD it as unverifiable. King of the North East 19:15, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Retirement sucks
Hey there, KING, VASCO here,
I saw your reverting of my edit on Roger García Junyent, as i wrote Retired in currentclub, and you removed it, claming it was "...not a club". Sorry if i screwed up, but i have seen tons of articles where it appeared, and thought it was a pattern. And it does make sense after all, because i think it would be the same that has to have - CURRENTCLUB - NONE ("none" meaning the same as "retired").
Anyways, sorry for any incovenience, have a nice week,
VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 00:30, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Category moves
I noticed that you have moved several rugby categories such as Category:Widnes Vikings players to other names. It is usual practice to propose such moves at WP:CfD, if there is consensus for the move the category can be moved automatically. Changing them in the manner that you have been doing destroys the page history, could you seek consensus at CfD before you carry out any more page moves? King of the North East 23:45, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
I've still not the hang of this User talk, but here goes... There were about 40-50 players in Category:Widnes Vikings players and 40-50 players in Category:Widnes Vikings rugby league players. As the majority of teams in Category:Rugby league players by club have the suffix rugby league players, I thought it best to move 'Widnes Vikings players' manually into 'Widnes Vikings rugby league players'. If there is an automatic move, that'd be great as there are a number of other anomalies between '...players' and '...rugby league players'.
- [Team ...players ...rugby league players]
- [Bradford Bulls 90 33]
- [Castleford Tigers 90 9]
- [Huddersfield Giants 85 9]
- [Hull Kingston Rovers 83 1]
- [London Broncos 122 58] (Note the 58 are Harleguins RL)
- [Salford City Reds 83 2]
- [Wigan Warriors 95 59]

Copa Libertadores 2006
I see that some info is wrong. The one that catches my eye is that Estudiantes home games were played in the Quilmes stadium (Quilmes), not in La Plata. There may be more... elpincha (talk) 02:50, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
RE:Seicer
Well, at least we have a truce. Keep up the good work on the Argentine articles by the way! Also, if you've got the time, I'd appreciate more input into a proposal at The Treble (see latest section in talk page). Cheers. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 02:57, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Football rivalry
Hi KOTNE. I understand why you removed the PRODs, but I still feel the articles aren't notable, and so have taken them to an AfD discussion, where I have expanded my reasoning. Regards, GiantSnowman 01:51, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Boca Juniors categories
I've left you a reply at the CfR discussion. Cheers. – PeeJay 22:11, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Julian Camino date of birth
As of today, the article says 1961 and 1963... What is it? 1961 sounds more plausible... elpincha (talk) 01:20, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Thank You
Thanks for adding the goal tally & reference to the Roberto Cherro article.--Bocafan76 (talk) 13:24, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Course Work
Hello. Please do have some sense of respect before you make statements claiming errors on my talk page. The information in my user page is by no means associated as being a "storage facility" for course work. That is all there is to say, for an ant cannot demand an anteater to explain why he carries a long nose.--[|!*//MarshalN20\\*!|] (talk) 14:24, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- However, I thank you for taking the time to read over and showing interest on my page. I added a comment on it to notify those who read it to not be confused by thinking that my philosophical analysis are coursework.--[|!*//MarshalN20\\*!|] (talk) 05:04, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Argentine Football
Re your message, yes happy to get involved in the project. What are you looking for? I am very interested in the subject, though not an expert or anything. Regards.Eldumpo (talk) 06:58, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Hum, I hadn't noticed that. The account has the bot flag set, it's marking its edits as bot edits, but looking at Special:RecentChanges, the edits still show up on the list. However, it appears that I'm not the only one having that problem, as I see at least one other bot on the list. Thanks for letting me know, I'll bring it up and see if I can get someone to answer. Matt (talk) 23:26, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
La Florida (Tucuman)
Where is Leales and how did you find out that info on the club's location. As far as I can tell from the La Florida y Luisiana.es page (can't seem to post a link to it) La Florida is part of Greater San Miguel (eastern side), although confusingly some of the links on the web page point to a La Florida to the south-west of San Miguel, between Concepcion and Monteros, but there's nothing there when you look at Google Earth. Regards Eldumpo (talk) 21:49, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. I have had a further look and think it is in Eastern Tucuman (as it is in Cruz Alta Department) and so have made the change to the club's location (and created a La Florida y Luisiana page). Eldumpo (talk) 19:27, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Rosario Puerto Belgrano
According to rsssf [[1]] they are not playing in this year's 5th level interior, although they are listed as playing in that from the Wiki club list pages. Their website [[2]] shows they are still active and playing in this year's Liga del sur (Bahia Blanca). Assuming this is all correct, should RPB move to the Local Leagues section of the list? Eldumpo (talk) 08:43, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Thank you
Hello. Thank you for the barnstar. It is always a pleasure talking with you, and I'm glad you've taken the time to point me in the right direction in terms of making WP better. Sometimes, it seems like we are tilting at windmills, but it's worthwhile when there is a great community of editors like we have at WP:FOOTY. Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 23:11, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Juan Gilberto Funes
Hi! No chance of findings his stats in France: he never played for any French club. Don't know why it was added to the article. Cheers.--Latouffedisco (talk) 06:06, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Good question, but I'm 100% sure. He doesn't appear in my book about foreign players in France, neither on clubs sites.Strange.--Latouffedisco (talk) 08:27, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- I seriously doubt about that; I would have found something. For RSSSF here he played for Olympiacos from 1987 to 89. For playerhistory he never played in France see here. These French clubs should be removed, for sure. Cheers.--Latouffedisco (talk) 08:38, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Declined Speedy Deletion: Shane_Rexhepi
Hello King of the North East, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined your speedy deletion tag on Shane_Rexhepi because Criterion G4 does not apply: the page has not previously been deleted via a deletion discussion. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any queries, please let me know. Ale_Jrbtalk 18:34, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Deletion discussions
Now you tell me! I've been removing old deletion discussions all week without archiving. Thanks for the heads up. John Sloan @ 20:31, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

I have now archived every Afd I removed from the list. Again, thanks for spotting my error and informing me! John Sloan @ 21:48, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

More Argentine Questions
1. I'm in the process of adding some text to the Colon article, but can't see why I've got redline links for the 2 'seasons in Argentine football' links.
2. The 'seasons in Argentina' and 'Primera A' pages by season result in a lot of duplicated text. Has there been any discussions over whether both of these are needed?
3. How do you add accents etc to text, and is there no way for Wikipedia to automatically redirect if you type in the non-accent version e.g. if you start searching for union de santa fe it doesn't appear as it has an accent. Should accents always be included been as it is an English language version? Regards Eldumpo (talk) 08:43, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- Answers:
- This is the reason. Now fixed.
- The seasons in Argentine football are meant to give an overview of Argentine football, Primera, International teams, international cups etc. The Primera articles should provide more in depth coverage of the Primera. (This is the same structure as the well established 1998-99 in English football & Premier League 1998-99). The line in the sand has not yet been drawn for what should be duplicated between the two, I think the most important issue relating to these articles is getting the Seasons in Argentine football written up to a fairly comprehensive standard (I've done from 1891 up to 1920 so far).
- Vowels are fairly easy to write: Press the right [Alt] key and the desired letter to produce áéíóú, ñ can be made by holding the left [Alt] key and typing 164 on the number keys to the right. I'm not sure about the automatic redirects for accented words, I dont think the system can recognise them. All articles with an accent in the title should have a plain text redirect such as Carlos Tevez / Carlos Tévez. Accents should always be used unless common usage in English without the accent can clearly be shown (this goes for items such as a dictionary entry, a certificate or an official document rather than the work of some lazy journalist who couldn't be bothered to include the accents). BLP = Biography of living people
Hi. Concerning this edit of yours I would like to tell you that BLP stands for Biography of Living People and you added this tag to a deceased individual. Thanks, Magioladitis (talk) 18:44, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
CfD nomination of Category:Platense
I have nominated Category:Platense (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) for renaming to Category:Club Atlético Platense (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. BencherliteTalk 21:40, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ah-hah! I thought I'd try to get the other categories lining up in the same direction, and then find that Twinkle tells me it's leaving a message on a now-familiar name's talk page... Sorry for the templated message, but Twinkle speeds this type of thing up! Regards, BencherliteTalk 21:42, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi, your knowledge of Argentine football is again required at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#The Browns of Argentina. Thanks, GiantSnowman 00:54, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks!
And congratulations, it is unbelievable the amount and quality of Argentine football articles you have done throughout the years. Greets. --Fache (talk) 23:03, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Tagging for speedy deletion
Hi there. Just a note, if you tag things for speedy deletion as you did with Julio Santa Cruz, please remember to notify the creator of the page using the relevant warning message found in the tag. Regards SoWhy 09:17, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi King. Reading the comments in the discussion page we made wiki:soccer , I noteced that my coment towards you may have been interpreted in two different ways (normal/offensive). I hope you know I didn´t ment to be offensive in any way. I just told you the thing about Yugoslavia not having belonged to Soviet Union or Warsaw Pact, but while reading it I noteced that you may have tought I was offended. Please don´t think so, and I´m sorry if I offended you. Please, you can count with me if ever you need any help with anything. Best regards. Filip FkpCascais (talk) 13:57, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
Juventud Alianza & other Argentine
Where did you get the 1973 foundation date from - the Spanish page says 1905. Did the original Juventud merge with 1 or more teams to become JA? Eldumpo (talk) 11:12, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
1. I've added a note saying about their name change (see Sanjuanina list of champs for guide), which is slightly supposition as it could've been a merger, but at least it clarifies (see 1967 Nacional change) - couldn't find sources to confirm.
2. Is there any organisation from WpAf with regards to updating the List of Argentine clubs (based on 09/10 leagues), and then for each club their infobox and 1st para write-ups. I'm happy to split things by league with you or other editors, or is it just done as and when by individuals?
3. Do you know whether either of the 3rd level leagues is fully professional, and do you have sources confirming professional leagues in Argentina? (see Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues)
