This was absolutely was not a promotion. Everything written was fact and verifiable. If you can add something that included facts and not slander, please do, but do not just delete the page. All I did was post references to where the information can be verified, what do you want? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Spot13 (talkcontribs) 15:40, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Back in March, you tagged this article, indicating you did not think it met our notability standards; I have just seen it, and I agree (it has not substantially changed since then). I have nominated it for deletion; your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Orion's Arm. Robofish (talk) 22:15, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Article "ODX"

Hi there,

you deleted the Article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ODX.

ODX ("Open Diagnostic Data Exchange") is one of the most important standards for automotive diagnostics right now.

On the page above the wikipedia system states that one of the authors requested the article to be deleted.

I think it is very sad that such an important topic can no longer be found on the wikipedia.

I don't know the original article, because I just searched for it here when it was already gone.

Should I start another ODX-article or what was the reason it was deleted in the first place?

Thank you very much in advance for your support.

Kind regards, Richard —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.49.227.156 (talk) 13:44, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Sig code

Hehe, I can't remember where I stole that code from, but it seems to be getting increasingly popular on the site! Huntster (t @ c) 03:24, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Chronology of Star Wars.

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chronology of Star Wars (2nd nomination). Ikip (talk) 09:33, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

MISSING USER PAGE

Hi Cobaltbluetony,

I am wondering what happened to my USERPAGE. I typed up a bit of bio info for myself and tried to save it as a USERPAGE but now the things seems to have dissapeared and I cannot even edit it anymore. Have I done something wrong. How do I go back to editing it? THanks! --Skychildandsonofthesun (talk) 21:14, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, i just tried: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=user:Skychildandsonofthesun&action=edit&redlink=1 and that should have worked. --Skychildandsonofthesun (talk) 21:21, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome. Thanks Cobaltbluetony. Got it working. Still have to figure out embedding images and tab spacing to make it look nice (+ notice that some editors have interesting font changes to their signature when they insert the four tilde's). --Skychildandsonofthesun (talk) 16:56, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hell in a Bucket

I actually feel this reset was preventative. Given the nature of that personal attack, I didn't think he realized why it was unacceptable. Had he been more apologetic, I'd have been more open to unblocking. He's been blocked before for incivility--that weighed pretty heavily with me. Blueboy96 20:04, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar!

The Special Barnstar
Thank you for commenting on the punitive nature of my block extention. The original block was probably useful in reminding me to guard my tongue. Although disagreeing with my record or methods is irksome personally (for you too probably), you still stood up for what was appropriate in this scenario. Re: WWW2

Hello. I apologize, this reply to your question about WWW2 is a very long time coming - I took an extended hiatus from editing Wikipedia, and just saw your message today. In case you're still interested after all this time...

I created the www2 redirect after "www2" appeared in the list of Requested Computer science articles. In any URL, the part of the domain name before the first dot is the local hostname of the website. For example, within the wikipedia.org domain:

URL Local hostname Domain
http://www.wikipedia.org www wikipedia.org
http://en.wikipedia.org en wikipedia.org
http://de.wikipedia.org de wikipedia.org

Sometimes, an organization will have a series of sites using numbered hostnames:

  • www2.mydomain.org
  • www3.mydomain.org

This is most often used when the same content is mirrored accross multiple sites, to aid in load balancing. Here is a blog post discussing this scenario: http://agentcities.com/what-is-www2-or-www1/

In hindsight, simply redirecting www2 to World Wide Web was probably not the best approach, especially since www3 redirects to subdomain, which seemsmore appropriate, but still not entirely clear. Maybe a disambiguation page is needed for both www2 and www3. I'm going to give that some more thought.

Thanks, Davnor (talk) 21:40, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE: After thinking it over, I decided to go ahead and convert the WWW2 entry to a disambiguation page. Thanks again for your question. Davnor (talk) 15:10, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

siggyness and silliness

hello,

i noticed that you were able to get your customized sig to work... while I am not. I do not understand what I am doing wrong. I have a sub page that seems like it is correct (in terms of syntax) and I type this into my preferences under signature: {{subst:User:Skychildandsonofthesun/Skychildandsonofthesun/sig2}} (talk) and yet it still does not work? Do you have any insight into what I am doing wrong?

thanks, --{{subst:User:Skychildandsonofthesun/Skychildandsonofthesun/sig2}} (talk) 10:26, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Cobaltbluetony! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 868 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Chris Mulkey - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Article Unprotection Request

Hello. See this link please. I've created the stub here as suggested by Boghog2. Could you unprotect the article for me now so I can update it? Thanks in advance! el3ctr0nika (Talk | Contribs) 01:53, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously?? Last.fm isn't a good enough source? Same with Discogs.com? Maor Levi is no question a notable trance musician, let me assure you of that. Just check the Google and YouTube results for his name and aliases as examples. Also note that he has a lot more productions than what I listed on his page as there were too many to include.
Here, see this link -- it's his iTunes profile. Also see this link -- it's an Anjunabeats album featuring one of his productions ("Shapes" - Disc 2 - Track 1). Check here as well -- an interview with him by InlineDJ.com (read this article if you want to see just how 'notable' he is). Those references should be credible enough.. and if not, really, I don't know what will satisfy you.
There are countless lesser-known electronic producers like Maor who put out great music but are relatively unknown and by no means mainstream (trance itself isn't even that mainstream.. say "Deadmau5", currently one of the top five DJs in the world (according to TheDJList at least), and most people won't know who you're talking about); hence, the scarcity of references. Regardless, they shouldn't be excluded from Wikipedia simply because of this, and personally, I think the references I've provided (including the three in this very message which I can add to my stub if necessary) are more than enough to validate his authenticity. Please reconsider your decision. el3ctr0nika (Talk | Contribs) 21:02, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Edit: I've updated my stub a little bit and included the interview in the references. el3ctr0nika (Talk | Contribs) 21:20, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Alright thank you! I'll look into those routes. el3ctr0nika (Talk | Contribs) 23:17, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

15:27, July 1, 2008 Cobaltbluetony (talk | contribs) deleted "Ekotopfilm" ‎ (A1: Not enough context to identify subject)

I created new page with ekotopfilm. I would like to ask what can I do for activation of our festival ekotopfilm (between Documentary film festivals, List of film festivals in Europe, Festivals in Slovakia, etc).

Maybe I did some mistakes, because I am beginner on the wikipedia. But I would like to inform all about our festival.

Thank you for your comments and help.
