Hello and Welcome to my talk page, For any Information on me personally, visit my User Page.

A tag has been placed on Desert Hills, Maricopa County, Arizona, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Outlets at Anthem requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 03:23, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Arizona State Route 404 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

The article Junction List for Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard (Scottsdale, Arizona) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Junction lists don't need and shouldn't have separate articles in general, and in this case the main article for the road doesn't even exist.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Whether or not this article should be created, the {{DecadesAndYears}} template isn't working correctly, and other year templates need to be modified to properly handle it. Please discuss at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Years to determine what needs to be done. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 16:24, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. 2130s is going too far. I have doubts about 2110s, but 2120s and 2130s should not be articles unless you have something to say. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 18:07, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This may be too little far too late, but a solution has finaly been found with the {{DecadesAndYears}} template with {{DecadesAndYears22}} for 22nd Century Decades. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 03:19, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Bell Road (Phoenix Metro) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not really a notable roadway. A condensed version of this information, minus the junction list, might be acceptable for an article that is a listing of major Phoenix area roads.

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard (Scottsdale, Arizona) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard (Scottsdale, Arizona) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Imzadi 1979  07:51, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for creating Bell Road (Phoenix Metro)

Greetings! I wanted to thank you for creating the article on Bell Road (Phoenix Metro). I have removed the proposed deletion tag because this subject does seem sufficiently notable. I think you can tell at this point that not every major road in a city will be seen by some editors as meriting its own article, so keep in mind whether a road has significant notability before creating one. Cheers.--Milowenttalkblp-r 04:11, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Re your changing of the map in the article Fiji – New Zealand relations... I understand the rationale, but I think the old map was clearer. New Zealand's claim to a portion of Antarctica is not specifically relevent to this article, and including it on the map has the unfortunate effect of making Fiji almost invisible on that same map. The important information that the map should convey is the location of the two countries' mainlands in relation to each other, in a manner that's as visually clear as possible. Aridd (talk) 08:15, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Arizona

It was recently suggested that WikiProject Arizona, to which you are a member, may be inactive or semiactive and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. After reviewing the project it appears that there haven't been much active discussion on the talk page in some time and the only content updates appear to be simple maintenance so being supported by a larger project might be beneficial. I have begun a discussion on the projects talk page to see how the members of the project feel about this suggestion. Another user has added the project to the WPUS template and I added it to the list of supported projects in the WPUS main project page but before I take any further action I wanted to contact each of the active members for their input. --Kumioko (talk) 22:50, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing

Hi Phoenix. I've been looking through your series of articles on relations between the Republic of Texas and various other nations. I'm really concerned with the way the information was put together. At a glance, it looks like these are well-sourced, but a closer inspection reveals otherwise.

  • I see a lot of synthesis - for example, that Texas is a huge cotton exporter, and Austrian textiles used cotton, therefore Texas provided cotton to Austria for the textile industry. Also, that because Spain was Catholic and Texas was not (cited to Texas Baptists?!?!), that's why there weren't relations. While this may seem to be a logical conclusion, unless a source has specifically drawn that link, per policy we as editors can't draw it.
  • Also, even where there is no synthesis, the sources do not appear to support the information. In the information on Argentina, the reference is to an organization in Austin, and nothing on the website ever says that there was an Austrian consulate in the Republic of Texas.
  • The sources used are also not up to par. The reliable sources guideline pretty much excludes information from self-published sources (including websites). We should be using journal articles, scholarly works, etc., for history articles, not random websites.

I'm going to do my best to clean up this information. Did you get the list from somewhere else that isn't listed as a reference? Where did the information actually come from? Karanacs (talk) 21:35, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

On further look, it appears you are sourcing the consulate information to the modern-day consulates that exist in the state of Texas. These had nothing to do with what happened in the Republic of Texas 170 years previously. I found a list at the Handbook of Texas of the known Texas consulates, and it does not match what you had written at all. I have yet to find any part of this topic where the sources are relevant. I'd appreciate more information from you on your thought process here. Karanacs (talk) 21:53, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Time zone map

Hi Phoenix. I like your map of time zones very much, but could you give some directions where you got all the info from? I intend to improve the {{Current hour in time zone}} template. :)

Thank you. Styath (talk) 20:48, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, most of my information began from research on what places use dst, and what places don't, I found this map[1] very helpful for that part, Then I researched on standard times world wide[2], however this map was only so helpful, it had all of russia listed entirely wrong, as they are on daylight savings time year round, thus listed as not changing times on the map of who uses dst or not. So I realized to make a good draft for my map, I had to research country by country, and find its various time zones, using help from several websites[3][4][5], once I tackled the big countries, it got easier, all of africa except nambia and morocco used standard time and that is were map two was extreemly helpful. I had made many mistakes, and had to redo the map three times, before having an almost perfect map, published, and made only subtle changes from then on. I'm not sure if I have answered the big question, I am going to re-research, and try to track down more of the the sources I used, just give me some time. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 23:01, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I would have to say the most helpful websites I used where http://www.worldtimezone.com/, http://www.timetemperature.com/, and this website we are on now.– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 23:09, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I appreciate it very much. :) Styath (talk) 17:32, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Your Welcome, I am looking forward to seeing the finished product of your {{Current hour in time zone}} template– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 17:37, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's hard to find (reliable) sources on what date and time DST starts and ends in the different regions. I'd like to invite you and anyone else to improve {{Daylight saving in time zone}} (which is used by {{Current hour in time zone}}), if you happen to know formulas to calculate those dates for other regions. All help is welcome! Styath (talk) 17:43, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Give Me a few minutes, I think I know a website that mentions each countries dst end and start times. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 17:47, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Here is one [6], but it only shows our current year, this one [7] is much more specific, I will continue to look for more.– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 17:52, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again! Styath (talk) 17:53, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Your Welcome, here is one more[8], and a piece of advise to remember, when its summer in the northern hemisphere, its winter in the southern, and visa versa, I realy hope this information is reliable.– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 17:58, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nice ones. Yeah exactly, that's what I remembered just now as well. Well I'll just try and use it and ask for other people living in those time zones (the "experts") to check if it's correct when they're using the template. Thanks! Styath (talk) 17:59, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I like that, feel free to edit my map if you find anything I didn't.– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 18:05, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, I noticed a minor mistake concerning the Aleutian Islands. Your map says "+10 (+09)" but I believe it should be "-10 (-09)" as it has the Hawaii-Aleutian Time Zone. Styath (talk) 15:32, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You, I hadn't noticed that, your right, I have the western aleutians on the far right of the map correct, but the eastern aleutions closer to alaska mislabled, good eye, i'm in the proccess of fixing my map anyway, belarus is now on permanent DST, Ukraine might stop it all together. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 17:44, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you find any other mistakes, please let me know :) – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 18:07, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You did not do anything wrong at all. I simply wanted to expand the following article: Territorial claims in Antarctica. It would be useful to know on what basis a country can establish a claim in Antartica. Pass a Method talk 04:59, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You, sorry.– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 05:01, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Distinguish tag

I have reverted this edit to the article Arthur Rubinstein. The "not to be confused" is only for article titles that are hard to distinguish (e.g. Justin Bieber and Justin Beaver). And please, use the template {{distinguish}} the next time you make edits like this. --Bryce Wilson | talk 06:19, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Worldwide Time Zones (including DST).png.png

Hey friend, You made an excellent work with this map, but you have a little mistakes, Cape Verde in front of Mauritania coast border uses UTC-1, all year round, doesn't UTC+0; Acre state in Brazil uses Amazonas Time (UTC-4), Bolivia doesn't use DST (just UTC-4 all year round). Good Work and Good Look, cheers.--Scoelho86 (talk) 09:21, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You for pointing out the flaws I didn't catch on my map, if you find anymore, please tell me, sometimes I make mistakes without knowing so, Have a Nice Day, or Night, or whatever time it is there :) – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 01:58, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, great map. Do you think you could make a version using the hue4map color system? See a description at commons:Category:UTC hue4maps. TZ master (talk) 01:59, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

On my map there is one major problem, I think there would be too many zones to classify each by a single color, my current map, currently uses many colors, but most are repeated, I never thought to make a pattern though, I may work on a second map. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 02:08, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe just try to alter your current map, starting with the regions that have no DST and see how far you can get. I made a test at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:UTC_offset_map_rygcbm_world_flat6.svg - look at the SVG, the PNG just shows black. Europe that has DST could get color #CCCC00 instead of Africa which has #FFFF00. But that can be adjusted later. It can be improved step by step. TZ master (talk) 02:16, 30 September 2011 (UTC) - Note for the zones: Not every needs a single color, UTC+0, UTC+6, UTC+12 can have the same. The pattern can repeat after 6 hours. TZ master (talk) 02:18, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, That can work, I would like to maybe make a separate map for it, but not at the moment, I am really busy in the real world, today I have off of work, Ive actually been working on an artical on another subject. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 02:25, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah ok, :-). TZ master (talk) 02:31, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think there's one more mistake: see commons:File talk:Worldwide Time Zones (including DST).png.pngb_jonas 16:10, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Time in Antarctica

I am going to be starting a new artical called Time in Antarctica, if anyone would like to contribute you may. :) – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 21:12, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thx for your msg. Today I converted a North pole projection to the utc-hue4 system, maybe the contained map is some inspiration: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:UTC_hue4map_X_world_CET-24h-NorthPolarProjection.png . I would be more inclined to work on the article if it would reside in the article space. If you move it, pls tell me. TZ master (talk) 04:19, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for my delayed responce, this has been a busy sunday for me, I woke up and immediately had to start writing an essay for school due in a few days, then at eleven I had work, I just got home, but I need to finish my essay, I will work on moving Time in Antarctica into artical space after I verify the accuracy of way is on there, I will also include a hue4 map after every time zone is listed, I will need to find a blank map of antarctica broke into zones, but without any pixelly fuzz, SVG will not work on my computer, I am limited to doing a PNG on Paint Pro. I will try to get back to the moving of the artical soon, but you are free to visit my userspace, I trust and give you permission, also I havnt had time to convert my global TZ map yet, but I will.– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 00:34, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have now upgraded Time in Antarctica to be its own artical, It still requires expansion, but now you wont have to feel uncomfortable if you choose to help, have a nice day :) .– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 20:10, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Great. I am very busy too, please excuse if I write very short. Some notes for the colors and the map in general at commons:Talk:Time_Zones_in_Antarctica.png. TZ master (talk) 15:59, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How about outsourcing the key, and move it into a template like here: Template:Time_zones_of_Brazil. Then the key descriptions can be made clickable and also the English words on the current key don't hinder other language WP's to use the PNG. TZ master (talk) 16:01, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Antarctica/Russkaya, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a nonexistent page.

If you can fix this redirect to point to an existing Wikipedia page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you also fix the redirect. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. The only history in the page was the page just redirecting to itself, as far as I can remember, there was no way of me knowing that that was the target that you had intended. L888Y5 (talk) 07:38, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I did? Sorry, I need to pay more attention, Thank You. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 14:51, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

At the bottom left hand corner, the small, extremely tiny light blue section of Antarctica should be +13 (+12), not the other way around.

Looking at the bottom right hand corner, you'll notice that the same numbers are in the same sequence (the original 12, 13)... the two ends meet together; therefore, it doesn't make sense to have the lower left hand with the numbers it does.

This isn't something we handle, so I'm pointing it out to you. – Adrignola talk 04:17, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I am a little confused, If both halves of the Ross Dependency are part of new zealand and both using NZST, why would there standard and DST be switched, remember, antarctica is stretched on this map, due to its location at the bottom of the world, the Antimeridian cuts through the Ross Ice Shelf, placing the eastern half of land on the left side of the map appearing far from new zealand, however the International date line has been skewed to prevent the spliting of united pieces of land such as Chukotka, Wrangel Island, Fiji, Tuvalu, or to island groups like Kiribati from being divided into different days. I dont see why the ross Dependency would be an exception here, but I may be wrong, I will do some research. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 16:41, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actualy are artical on the Ross Dependency[9], clearly states UTC+12 for Standard Time, UTC+13 during summer (September to April).– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 16:48, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just pointing the message out to you. I have no idea if it's legitimate and don't have any understanding of the situation. That's why we don't handle this sort of thing. It's not our place to decide which version of an image or text is "correct". – Adrignola talk 16:48, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Dont worry, i'm not upset, I like advise on my maps, I just cant find a place that says to have them in reverse, thank you for telling me though, the person whom was concerned might not have known antarctica is shaped like this , and not like the bottom of this map , perhaps he needs a reminder, Please have a nice day. Also if you find any other mistakes, feel free to tell me, I have made tons of mistakes, and just recently caught and fixed them, we all make mistakes, and advise is always appreciated. :) – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 17:01, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The sin being honest, sorry for telling anyone, I have been considering leaving wikipedia, it is growing quite to censored, I may have of worked on some them in the future, made them better, restored them, but they would still be deleted anyway, if everything on this website is deleted, why does anybody even try to contribute, we are all wasting our time if nothing we create will last long, countless hours of peoples hard work, wasted, I dont get it. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 03:43, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Caiyad Phahad, non-notable promotional material, is not censorship. Cunard (talk) 03:48, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Its not the just this or promotional material I'm talking about the countless articals that are traunched every day, look, I'm not blaming you, this is something I've been thinking about for a while now, I've been very much an ostrige on this website, and I just don't want to be, I want to help, I guess I just dont quite know how. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 03:56, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While some topics are worth salvaging, I disagree with retaining promotional material because it is harmful to Wikipedia's reputation. If you would like to help out more, one option is to review the articles submitted to Wikipedia:Articles for creation and provide guidance for the new users at Category:Pending AfC submissions. Cunard, do you spend your entire time criticizing users on their edits? Looking at your recent edits you rarely edit articles. Most of your time is spent on talk pages, harassing editors who disagree with you. (By the way, [10] [11][12][13] is considered canvassing. You only notified the users who commented delete.) I disagree with your statement that I have canvassed and harassed, but will not hijack Phoenix B 1of3's talk page to discuss this. You are free to copy this to my talk page or your talk page, and I will explain my actions. Cunard (talk) 05:03, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
