To the Onewhohelps, at least the name Melanie Jonas has to be changed immediately. It is her legal name and the name Layton doesn't even exist anymore. It's a disgrace to the real-timeness of wikipedia if it is not changed.

--85.98.19.134 (talk) 15:32, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Turgut Reis is of Turkish origin not of Greek. His father's name was Veli which is a very common Turkish name. His family lineage is well known as well as descendants of his family in Bodrum peninsula today. Why are you insisting on greek origin?[reply]

Hi, I've re-redirected this page, since the result of an AFD (two years ago) is merge, which means the page needs to be redirected. Cheers. Hairhorn (talk) 18:48, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yoru edit at Guru Josh

What you undid is not vandalism. Please read WP:NOTVAND and the related thread at the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard to understand why this is not vandalism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hasteur (talkcontribs) 19:45, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, Onewhohelps. In this case, if I may say so, I believe you made an error, unfortunately. Don't sweat it, however; we all learn(t) by trial and error.

As a rule of thumb, only edits made in good bad faith are vandalism. All edits made in good faith, even if you deem them misguided or wrong, are not and, therefore, it is inappropriate to revert them calling them vandalism. Salvio Let's talk about it! 23:48, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think Salvio means edits in bad faith are vandalism. Bad faith means that the only reason the user made that edit is obviously to disrupt the project. If in doubt, use undo instead and specify a reason. Regards SoWhy 08:22, 5 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Erm, you're right, that was a lapsus calami... Salvio Let's talk about it! 09:29, 5 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User talk page deletion

Hello, user talk pages are almost never deleted. That said, if you realize you issued a mistaken warning, just replace it with {{subst:welcome}} ~~~~, which adds a welcome message to their talk page. Cheers! Reaper Eternal (talk) 19:01, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

Hello, following a review of your contributions, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please take note of the following:

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Reaper Eternal (talk) 14:43, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

Just a quick tip, while it is probable that someone who makes their first mainspace edit as vandalism will be a VO account, please WP:AGF and no biting, that's all. :) Kwsn (Ni!) 16:28, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm curious to find out why you tagged this article as 'nonsense'. It's a sound article, and I can't see any CSD category that would fit it. Cheers. Peridon (talk) 17:36, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How can my change in Gangtok be vandalism? Nepali is the PRINCIPAL language of Gangtok and it should be mentioned alongside the english name. Being from Gangtok itself i should be knowing the correct info aint it? Niteshpradhans (talk) 9:44, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

I think we're reverting something incorrectly here. Calabe1992 (talk) 15:24, 29 September 2011 (UTC) It's been reverted, and protection requested. Calabe1992 (talk) 15:26, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I was really confused. I even reverted my own edits because I thought I did something wrong. But then even that turned out to look dodgy. He must be quite clever. I've just reported him aswell. :) --Onewhohelps (talk) 15:29, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The issue was that there were two different sections of the sentence(s?) that were vandalism, and somehow one of them got caught up in the middle. I even did a mistake revert after writing here (I think). Calabe1992 (talk) 15:31, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Lol on my talkpage. That said, does seem to be quite a lot going on this morning... Calabe1992 (talk) 15:35, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Adding citation to the Napa County

Good morning,

The citation is needed for the Napa County "History" to document the Italian migration story. Why are you deleting "editing" the citation.

Please explain.

CTB500 -- also your assumption is wrong that this is a group edit.

Are you a Napa County resident?

(Ctb500 (talk) 16:26, 29 September 2011 (UTC))[reply]

I should point out that the above user has also raised this here: Wikipedia:Help_desk#Adding_the_citation_.2F_blocked_by_crazy_editor. There seems to have been some confusion over reverts, and I can't see what was wrong with the later edits by CTB500. Perhaps you should take another look? IP block exempt

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. Salvio Let's talk about it! 11:21, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
