Career

Pre-debut

Prior to B.A.P's debut, Yong Guk was a rapper in underground hip hop group "Soul Connection" under the stage name of "Jepp Blackman".[5] After being signed to TS Entertainment, he was featured on labelmate Song Jieun's song, "Going Crazy".[6] Yong Guk then went on and made his official solo debut on August 11, 2011 with the single "I Remember", featuring Yang Yo-seob of Beast.[7] Member Himchan, an ulzzang multi-instrumentalist, was first introduced to the public as an MC for a music show program, MTV The Show.[8]

On November 23, 2011, Zelo was introduced to public through a sub-unit with Yong Guk called Bang & Zelo.[9] They debuted with the song "Never Give Up" on December 2, 2011.[10] On 29 December, 2011, TS Entertainment released the official debut teaser.

In January 2012, the group starred on their first reality show, Ta-Dah, It's B.A.P aired on SBS MTV.[11] The show focused on how the six members play the role of aliens from a different planet who worked together to debut as B.A.P.[11] The show follows the members through their daily schedule, giving fans insight on the group prior to their debut. On February 26, 2012, the group ended its promotion for "Warrior" in Inkigayo.[3] TS Entertainment announced that "Secret Love", a duet between Song Jieun and B.A.P, will be the follow up single for "Warrior".[4] A representative of TS Entertainment said that "there is going to be a major change in their overall theme including their fashion and hair style".[3] Promotions for the song will start on March 1, through M!
