11 Year old boy

A 11-year old boy was recently free after spending a month in jail. His case caught international attention. If you're interested, here are some references: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5].

I started a stub at Ali Hassan. Mohamed CJ (talk) 16:55, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Crazy. Thanks for the sources-- I'll try to pitch in soon. Khazar2 (talk) 23:09, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nice work on this one! I changed some picky stuff about the prose, but it looks solid. Khazar2 (talk) 05:47, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Get well soon

Hope you feel the strength to continue editing soon... always great to read your articles. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 01:45, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks man. =) Khazar2 (talk) 01:47, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just wanted to express my concern for you well-being. My best wishes for you! __meco (talk) 16:25, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks all! Should be back "full time" in a few days. =) Khazar2 (talk) 05:18, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

I was just looking over Chen Guangcheng as part of an ongoing interest in disability-releated articles and following this crazy idea. It looks like you've done some excellent work putting the article in great shape over the last few months - how do you feel about putting it forward (or seeing it put forward) as a good article maybe? Fayedizard (talk) 15:43, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I think it's a fine idea if you're interested, but personally I've become skeptical of those processes; generally the drama quotient appears to me to outweigh the gain. If you want to try to see it through, I'd try to swing by and pitch in where I can, though. The article is surely close to ready in terms of completeness, but as pointed out on its talk page, still needs work to trim and smooth the escape/asylum sections, which accrued day-by-day during the saga and would be better re-written as a coherent overview. Khazar2 (talk) 14:01, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I hear that - I occasionally find myself becoming deeply cynical about the pluses and stars, but I'm feeling pleasently optimistic at the moment - I've got some time this weekend so I'll go though deeply and see about a nomination. :) Fayedizard (talk) 18:27, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hey - I've done a certain about of editing (trimming mainly - and a certain about of making the text fit the sources) - and I'm planning to put it up as a GA later today (there's a drive on and it would be good to catch the end of that...) let me know if you have any thoughts :) Fayedizard (talk) 09:14, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good--the trimming worked well. I did some minor copyediting, but there's still a few citation needed tags in the article I can't easily do anything about. Maybe checking old human rights watch or amnesty International docs would turn some information up? I'd suggest trying to tackle those right away or seeing if the information can be removed; it probably can't pass with those there. Khazar2 (talk) 15:25, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I just expanded on the sections concerning Chen's early life and activism — please take a look. I feel that those sections were (and probably still are) somewhat underdeveloped relative the rest of the page. I may also try my hand at smoothing out some of the other sections in the next couple days as time allows. Homunculus (duihua) 02:58, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Looks really good to me--thanks for tackling that! Khazar2 (talk) 14:43, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Aan

I looked into it; the first place I checked was Republika, which is historically based in conservative Islam, but it was a fairly neutral article (only one on the site). Kompas had a bit more, but it looks like a repeat of a source you used. All the sites I rely on are fairly neutral. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 12:31, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cool--thanks for the additions. Khazar2 (talk) 15:15, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Kureizhikun, and welcome to Wikipedia. You can see our image use policy at WP:IUP. Uploading images can be complicated, but if you are the copyright holder, or can demonstrate that you have permission from the copyright holder, the images would be a great addition to the article. Battle of Gao

Just a heads up that youre article is on ITNC.(Lihaas (talk) 15:52, 29 June 2012 (UTC)).[reply]

Thanks, commented there. Khazar2 (talk) 18:36, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just a heads up to User_talk:Remzone#Edit_summaries, the user is edit warring and ignoring idiscussion. Ive warned him, but we should keep an eye out. There is also a contradiction in the casualties now.(Lihaas (talk) 11:38, 30 June 2012 (UTC)).[reply]
Thanks...was so bred today i kept waiting to see what others added and in the process added stuff. Enjoyed the research (a la Guinea Bissau and the early days of Mali).
Sat. night and i ahvent had a drink yet ;((Lihaas (talk) 20:19, 30 June 2012 (UTC)).[reply]
Even better;)
btw- could you fix the combatants asterisks for the first 2 on the said page?(Lihaas (talk) 20:32, 30 June 2012 (UTC)).[reply]
Maybe--I'll take a look in a few minutes. Got a lot of tabs open at the moment. =) Khazar2 (talk) 20:33, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure how to solve that, unfortunately. Khazar2 (talk) 20:56, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Me too, so many tabs open, i dont know what i had to edit ;)
btw- as an aside, just generally felt quite happy.proud of the foresight articles i created like Tawakel Karman (6 months before the nobel) and MOJWA...unfortunately the massive expanstion of STL and Guinea-Bissau dint get the coverage it deserved(Lihaas (talk) 11:59, 1 July 2012 (UTC)).[reply]
Also please see talkpage rename proposalLihaas (talk) 14:50, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We could then also GA hthis when its doneLihaas (talk) 19:01, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sure--I think it's surely complete enough. I don't get involved much at GA but I'll try to pitch in if you take it there. Khazar2 (talk) 20:37, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Along those lines, can you be a second pair of eyes? Just to check for OL , grammar, etc.
After that we could sart a GA?
Per WP:GA? quickfail #5 could be a hindrance BUT theres NO definate endpointLihaas (talk) 12:30, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The above mentione duser has had more than a fair taling to and continues to ignore on both the battle page and the rebellion page. WHAT recurse do we have? ANI/block?Lihaas (talk) 23:32, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that Remzone's been hasty in some moves, but she/he's also new. For now I'd suggest just patience and direct contact; so far she/he seems to be abiding by 3RR, so as long as other editors are still trafficking the page, he/she shouldn't be able to override consensus editing. How do you like today's good story (hidden message: "open mind"), awesome Wikipedian of 25 January 2012 ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:55, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

List of shipwrecks in 1931

Re your recent good faith edit to this list. Did you not see the {{under construction}} at the top of the list? I'm still working on the expansion of the list and hope to complete it in the next day or so. Once I'd finished the expansion, I'd have done clean-up such as ordering refs so that they appear in numerical order. With the various lists of shipwrecks by year, please do not add a line break between individual dates. These lists work fine with a line break at the end of the month. Lists of shipwrecks by month are broken at each date. Mjroots (talk) 05:25, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies--as indicated by my edit summary, I was using AWB at the time, which doesn't always display the full article in the upper section, so I didn't see the template. I was mainly going after that typo and felt the reference ordering would be a bonus; if you feel it was disruptive, happily, any damage I did can be undone by reverting with a pair of mouse clicks. Cheers, Khazar2 (talk) 05:47, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not disruptive, but more a waste of your time. I don't mind people such as youself correcting typos - I make plenty enough of them myself. No harm done. Mjroots (talk) 18:36, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers, and thanks for fixing up that article. -- Khazar2 (talk) 20:51, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
