can we change the main image to file: Beyonce_Knowles_2012_BET_awards.jpg ? - I have changed it a few times but after a few hours it gets put back to the current image. I think the image i'm suggesting should be used as it is much more recent and as a biography of a living person I think the image used should at least be of the person in this current year. Also, I don't think the current image is appropriate due to it being from a magazine shoot and the hair blowing in her face makes it harder to identify --Lolcakes25 (talk) 01:30, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- I kept changing it back to the previous image because I thought the image you uploaded was a copyright violation. But on your talk page you said "it's from Beyoncé's official website and has a free license". If that's true, then I'll leave the current image. Oz talk 07:55, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- Agree - I reverted to your version. Having a magazine/photo-shoot/screenshot/airbrushed photo is absurd.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 01:54, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- It's not absurd if it is a free licensed image. — Tomica (talk) 13:19, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- Its not showing a fair and truthful representation of what the artist looks like...--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 23:17, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- Agree - As someone said in another talk page: "it's not that you look at the picture and say 'whoa that's Beyoncé' " —Gheiratina (Touch~^) 00:46, 7 October 2012 (UTC)

Surrogate motherhood rumors
There is some evidence out there that Beyonce's pregnancy was via a surrogate mother. Whether or not this is actually true we should at least mention the rumors then Beyonce's denials so that this article doesn't read like a press release.--71.190.16.143 (talk) 21:47, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

- No. This has been discussed before (see Talk:Beyoncé Knowles/Archive 8#The whole fake pregnancy thing). — Oz (talk) 21:59, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- "No", what? That discussion lasted exactly a day. Could we reopen it?--71.190.16.143 (talk) 22:10, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- "No" it won't be added. Rumors/gossip are not encyclopedic and should NOT be included in biography articles. — Oz (talk) 22:20, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- But the careers of such celebrities ARE based on rumor and gossip. Some of the content in here, although not gossip and no doubt impressive, I wouldn't say is encyclopedic.
- -For example: "In addition, data from Google Insights showed that the most searched for term from August 29, 2011 to September 4, 2011 was 'Beyonce pregnant' which reached 'breakout' levels – a term used by Google to describe a search with an increase of over 5,000 percent." even though we already have:
- -"The Huffington Post later confirmed that Knowles was 5 months pregnant and her pregnancy announcement had broken the 'most tweets per second recorded for a single event' Twitter record, receiving 8,868 tweets per second."
- I mean, are we a celebrity press service or what?--71.190.16.143 (talk) 22:47, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- If you have GOOD, CONVINCING evidence to re-open the discussion, I see no reason why not. As stated in Wikipedia's rules here.--Aichikawa (talk) 17:33, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
- I do. Note from her article she gave birth early January 2012. Calculate then, that Blue Ivy was conceived early April 2011.
- 1. This is her, late June 2011, when she was nearly 3 months pregnant, on the French X-Factor. This page confirms the date of that performance as 6/28/11. In Europe they write it "28/06/11." Notice the table dance in heels, and jumping off the table. Why would a celebrity with a high-risk pregnancy really be performing so strenuously?
- 2. This is her on Good Morning America, a mere four days later. And another clip from the same show. Watch that at 1:30. Here is a source about her height. So those heels are 4 to 5 inches.
- 3. Here she is again, in Ireland, about a week later. Look at the video at 0:29, 1:12, and 2:14. At 1:12 you will see that her thighs are skinnier than the backup singer's on the left. Here is a link to the Wikipedia page that gives evidence of the dates for Oxegen that year.
- 4. This story gives the date of the video shoot for the song "Party," August 2, 2011, so she was almost 4 months pregnant. Look at her then.
- 5. This is perhaps the most laughable. After she shows that she is allegedly pregnant at the Video Music Awards, which we say "gets 8,868 tweets per second", she is photographed at a Tory Burch opening like this. Both BET and this source show the date as Sept. 13 or 14, or when she is 5-and-a-half months pregnant. This is what pregnancy at the end of second trimester, which means at the end of 6 months, is supposed to look like.--24.103.25.189 (talk) 19:40, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

- Regarding #5, it doesn't necessarily mean that the belly of 5-and-a-half months pregnant look the same in every woman. It is an individualized process, every pregnancy is different, even in the same woman. My sister who was pregnant at 7 months, no one ever noticed her pregnancy including me. Let others response to your other evidences. :) jmarkfrancia (talk) 10:07, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
- Judging by the photo of you, this makes perfect sense as your sister is likely also be skinny. But Beyonce is not. Which adds to her charm but would less likely produce a figure like your sister's. Look, I'm a fan as anyone else. Please wait while I add more examples.--24.103.25.189 (talk) 15:21, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

BEYONCÉ IN AN INTIMATE, REVEALING DOCUMENTARY FILM DEBUTING FEB. 16, 2013, EXCLUSIVELY ON HBO Multiple Grammy®-winner, entrepreneur and actress Beyoncé will be the focus of an intimate feature-length HBO documentary film debuting Feb. 16, 2013, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. Directed by the superstar, the film is a fusion of video that provides raw, unprecedented access to the private entertainment icon and high-voltage performances. “Everybody knows Beyoncé’s music, but few know Beyoncé the person,” said Lombardo. “Along with electrifying footage of Beyoncé onstage, this unique special looks beyond the glamour to reveal a vibrant, vulnerable, unforgettable woman.” “HBO has a history of pushing every boundary with class and authenticity,” said Beyoncé. “Some of my favorite shows are on HBO, so I am excited that my film will be part of its bold programming. This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home." The film is a multi-faceted portrait of the 16-time Grammy Award-winning singer, businesswoman, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, wife and mother, showing off the extraordinary gifts that have made her a global phenomenon, and stripping away the veneer of stardom. It includes extensive first-person footage, some of it shot by Beyoncé on her laptop, in which she reflects on the realities of celebrity, the refuge she finds onstage and the transcendent joy of becoming a mother last year. The film sheds light on her childhood in Houston, with home movies revealing the close bond she built with her family and charts the challenges Beyoncé felt when she decided to manage her career and build her own company, Parkwood Entertainment. The film also captures the intense physical and emotional demands she goes through in the studio, preparing for live performances, running a business and her family life including her return to the spotlight after the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, in January 2012. Beyoncé also serves as the film’s executive producer.

It's so much more than this: "In December, it was announced that Knowles had partnered with Pepsi in a deal estimated at $50 million. As reported by Billboard, Pepsi "will sponsor a variety of unspecified creative projects for Beyonce as well as help promote the singer's upcoming fifth studio album.""
Take a look at: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/10/business/media/in-beyonce-deal-pepsi-focuses-on-collaboration.html?pagewanted=1&_r=0
FOR its campaign with Beyoncé next year, Pepsi doesn’t just want to sign up the telegenic pop star for another TV commercial. It also wants to get into the Beyoncé business.
In an expansion of the recent marketing experiments that have brought PepsiCo ever closer to the music industry, the company has embarked on a hybrid project with Beyoncé that will include standard advertising like commercials as well as a multimillion-dollar fund to support the singer’s chosen creative projects.
“Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve,” Beyoncé said in a statement. “As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.”
The campaign will coincide with a blitz of promotion for her next album, which has no title or release date so far but is expected in 2013. Sometime after she performs at the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 3 (also sponsored by Pepsi), Beyoncé will appear in a new TV ad — her fifth for the soft drink since 2002 — and her face will be on a limited-edition line of soda cans.
The less conventional aspects of the deal are meant as collaborative projects that indulge Beyoncé’s creative whims, and might well have no explicit connection to Pepsi products. They are still at the brainstorm stage, but could include live events, videos, “a cool photo shoot” or almost anything else, said Lee Anne Callahan-Longo, the general manager of Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé’s company.
For Pepsi, the goal is to enhance its reputation with consumers by acting as something of an artistic patron instead of simply paying for celebrity endorsements.
“Consumers are seeking a much greater authenticity in marketing from the brands they love,” said Brad Jakeman, president of PepsiCo’s global beverage group. “It’s caused a shift in the way we think about deals with artists, from a transactional deal to a mutually beneficial collaboration.”
The multiyear campaign is estimated at $50 million, the bulk of it for media placements and promotions around the world, and the remainder split roughly equally between Beyoncé’s fee and what Pepsi calls a creative content development fund.
(...)
Pepsi’s deal with Beyoncé is an outgrowth of ventures like Green Label Sound, but on a scale befitting her superstar stature.
“It’s wise for a brand like Pepsi to give an artist the ability to truly express herself,” said Ms. Callahan-Longo, of Beyoncé’s company, “instead of just the old-school way of, ‘Do you want to be in an advertisement?’ ”
“This is much bigger,” she added. “This is, ‘How can we create something together that is truly unique?’ ” — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.93.166.177 (talk) 12:29, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
