You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:32, 18 June 2010 (UTC) [reply]

Aloha, seems to have survived deletion-ites so far, congratulations. Even though I grew up in Milwaukee, never became a beer connoisseur. But seems notable enough. Obvious suggestions: decorate with a picture. I can do a quick look in the usual places for a pre-copyright one, or you could snap their office-front if it is photogenic, or take a picture of of a label and hope we can justify with fair use. Rewrite the timeline list as prose. Expand refs to use cite templates. I have not found a general tool for web links; I do use the google books one (and then hand edit the result, but it still saves time). Generally the tool needs to be specific to the source to dig out title, date, work, etc. because they all use different conventions (so much for HTML meta-data standards). There is a New York Times one, for example (although I just tried it and does not seem to work for historical articles that I use). To be honest I usually just grab a previous one from the same source, paste, and then edit the fields. I suppose one could do, say, a "Honolulu Advertiser tool" that parses out the info from their pages which would work for all of those. But they of course changed all their web conventions (invalidating many refs) recently when the Star-Bulletin merged. I will convert one or two to give some examples. Nice work creating Kahana Bay. However, your edit summaries referred to wp:red. However, the applicable guideline for disambiguation pages is at WP:DABRL. There is specialized guidance for disambiguation pages because they are primarily navigational pages and not articles. Disambiguation pages are intended to disambiguate existing articles, which is why there is criteria for inclusion of redlinks on disambiguation pages and why external links and references are not appropriate on disambiguation pages. olderwiser 22:18, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So is it then appropriate to just delete an item on a DAB page because there isn't an article associated with it?--Travis Thurston+ 22:45, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If there are no other incoming links and no other article that mentions the subject, yes -- there is nothing in Wikipedia to be disambiguated. olderwiser 02:39, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just not a fan of deleting items when it takes a minute to create a stub, add some internal links and de-orphan an article. No harm, not foul... thanks for the feedback. --Travis Thurston+ 04:59, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine

I have restored the article and moved it to your user space at User:Travisthurston/Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. when you have done the necessary removal of information useful only to a prospective student and general information about the merits of naturopathic medicine, you're free to move it back to mainspace. If you encounter any technical difficulty, let me know. DGG ( talk ) 20:57, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I cleaned it up, removed any advert and moved it over. Thanks! --Travis Thurston+ 00:55, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Travis.Thurston. Because you participated in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of YouTube celebrities (4th nomination), you may be interested in Talk:List of YouTube personalities#RfC: The criteria for inclusion on List of YouTube personalities. Sims Snowboards

Hello Travis. In December 2010 you created a new article - Sims Snowboards. Your new page was not patrolled within 30 days and recently has had a "New Unreviewed Article" banner attached to it. Today I reviewed the article and removed the banner.
I consider that your article does not demonstrate that the subject, Sims Snowboards, has sufficient notability to warrant its own article on Wikipedia so I have attached the appropriate banner. It would be good if you could return to this article and add to it in a way that demonstrates the notability of the company. Citation of reliable, independent secondary sources is the ideal way of doing this. Please read WP:CORP. Happy editing. Dolphin (t) 03:58, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sims was a pioneer of both the skateboard and industry in the 70's and during the 80's was one of the most identifiable brands of its time. Tom Sims is notable for being the founder of both. Just like Burton, Lib Tech and Powell Peralta, I'm confident it is noteworthy/notable per wp:note and wp:corp.. I'll do my best for find more sources.--Travis Thurston+ 05:33, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that offer. Dolphin (t) 12:33, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

North Star

Hi Travis - Thanks for your note about the North Star Mine and North Star Mine Powerhouse. I made a comment under yours on the North Star Mine talkpage. After doing some editing, shifting content between the 2 articles, I think the articles are more clearly delineated as stand alones. I don't feel a sense of ownership with either of them, so if others think a merge is called for, then that's ok. However, if merge is the answer, I would think it would go in the other direction... North Star Mine Powerhouse and North Star House (Grass Valley, California) would merge into North Star Mine. Happy editing. P.S. I see you're from Portland; I lived in Bend for 4 years! --Rosiestep (talk) 15:17, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cool :) I like Bend. And I think Mt. Bachelor makes the top the list for Oregon mountains to play on... Regarding North Star, I also don't much investment in it. It mostly piqued my interest because I grew up in the Nevada City/Grass Valley area and I "watch" some of the Nevada County articles. We'll see if anyone chimes in. And I agree that North Star Mine should be the parent article. Thanks for responding! --Travis Thurston+ 17:56, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ji Suk-jin

Hello there. I was wondering why you reverted my edit and tagged it as vandalism? If you can help me with the article, I would greatly appreciate it. Rockysmile11 (talk)

Edit the article all you want but do not remove the blp delete/review tag at the top. You can help ensure the survival of the article by finding reliable English language sources. See wp:rs -Travis Thurston+ 05:44, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Aloha Travis Thurston, I hope that you noticed my contributions at both pages, helping to deal with the vandalism that occurred, and found them constructive. As a result of this incident, I have recently requested rollback, in case I encounter a situation like this in the future so that I can deal with it better. If you found my contributions helpful to this end, I would appreciate if you could vouch for what I did at Wikipedia:Requests_for_permissions/Rollback#User:Dalisays if you have time. Thanks for any consideration. Dalisays (talk) 05:38, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
sounds good... but honestly, I don't even know what rollback privileges are. Let me know what I can do! -Travis Thurston+ 09:02, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oahu Wiknic on June 23rd

Aloha! I am planning to set up an Oahu Wikinic for June 23, as described at Wikipedia:Wiknic

My Wikipedia user name is Peaceray, I started about 15 months ago, & I have about 2,500 edits on en.wikipedia.org. I have been hankering to meet with some fellow local Wikipedians, especially since a few of us live in Kailua. To that end, I am sending email to or posting on the user Talk pages of 19 of us from the Wikipedia:WikiProject Hawaii/Participants page who I could identify as possibly living on Oahu.

Please see Wikipedia:Meetup/Oahu/1 & Wikipedia talk:Meetup/Oahu/1

I am open to any of the locations mentioned in the post, or other alternatives. I am like-to-operate-by-consensus type of guy, any workable location on which we could soon decide would be great!

Mahalo, Peaceray (talk) 23:16, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cool. Love the term wiknic :) You can message me here, email at info (at) travisthurston.com or invite me on some fb group.
Much Mahalo's!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Burleigh Heads, Queensland, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Point Danger (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 19:29, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File:KapiolaniBeachPark.JPG missing description details

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.
