Welcome!

Hello, Prestigiouzman, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!--Mishae (talk) 05:36, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

August 2013

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Avaidika has been reverted.
Your edit here to Avaidika was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://hinduism.about.com/od/basics/a/defining.htm) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 15:57, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Prestigiouzman. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Avaidika, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. alex3yoyo (talk) 02:05, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Kalipa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:DICTDEF in part, WP:SYNTHESIS for the major thrust of this whole article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DMacks (talk) 13:03, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Avaidika for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Avaidika is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Avaidika until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. DMacks (talk) 13:07, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Tardigrades

Hi Prestigiouzman. I'm afraid I don't have any more information on these creatures other than what's in the article. You could try searching Google Scholar - there are bound to be many interesting research papers. mgiganteus1 (talk) 04:12, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of Fringe Theories Noticeboard discussion

Hello, Prestigiouzman. This message is being sent to inform you that a discussion is taking place at Wikipedia:Fringe theories/Noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.Dougweller (talk) 08:51, 1 September 2013 (UTC) Grand--Prestigiouzman (talk) 10:20, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

September 2013

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Irish people. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ----Snowded TALK 14:26, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ó hAnluain, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cox (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from List of High Kings of Ireland into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Dougweller (talk) 14:52, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Random see alsos

It seems you are adding items to see also in many articles which have only the most tenuous connection with the topic. Going that way would turn the see alsos into huge lists. The connection must be closer than that, for unrelated martial arts for instance there is an article and various lists. Dmcq (talk) 16:34, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. The thread is Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Prestigiouzman reported by User:Dougweller (Result: ). Thank you. Dougweller (talk) 14:57, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Prestigiouzman, please see the result of Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Prestigiouzman reported by User:Dougweller (Result: Warned) which contains a warning for you. EdJohnston (talk) 04:04, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Alleged Rawlinson quote

Will you please stop adding that ridiculous passage from Gardner's Genesis of the Grail Kings to Tuatha Dé Danann. The book is (at best) fringe and not a reliable source, so its assertions have no place here. Even so, it doesn't even claim that passage is a quote from Rawlinson. It's simply the next paragraph following a mention of Rawlinson (here's the passage in Google Books). --Nicknack009 (talk) 07:06, 5 September 2013 (UTC

What do you mean alleged, your censorship attempts are obvious, just give up man, its all coming to the surface one way or the other--Prestigiouzman (talk) 08:54, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fellas, can you drop the small editing contest you have going on and just discuss the problem here? Gorgak25 (talk) 09:00, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The alleged Rawlinson quote is from Laurence Gardner, Genesis of the Grail Kings, Prestigiouzman doesn't appear to understand that it is Gardner who is saying this. In the paragraph before the quote that P is attributing wrongly to Rawlinson, Gardner did write "It was announced by the British Assyriologist Sir Henry Creswicke Rawlinson, in his 1853 address to the Royal Asiatic Society that the Scythians from the Black Sea regions were the early occupiers of Akkad in Mesopotamia—a fact which we encountered in Chapter 4." Prestigiouzman, you must stop adding this claiming it is by Rawlinson, and Gardner clearly fails WP:RS. Dougweller (talk) 10:02, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So theres my argument,whats yours Nick Nack--Prestigiouzman (talk) 09:18, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That's not an argument and certainly not a response to being told that your quote is by Gardner, not Rawlinson. Please read WP:NOR carefully as you will continue to be reverted if you carry on this way. Dougweller (talk) 10:02, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The sweat is pumping out of yis, relax boys, it was on the cards one way or the other, for darkness cannot dispel light, you can fool some people some times but you cant fool all the people all the time and all that jazz--Prestigiouzman (talk) 11:04, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I'll be blunt, then: you seem like you're merely trying to get a rise out of people and/or cause arguments without wanting to back them up. If you continue causing edit wars isn't a good idea and it won't end up with you keeping your account if you keep it up. Gorgak25 (talk) 11:35, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How am i causing Edit wars when i am restoring valid sourced inputs--Prestigiouzman (talk) 11:37, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As was already stated above you got into an edit war. Then, despite being informed by Dougweller that you didn't give a proper argument you said things that really do appear like trolling.
I understand you might believe you're right (and you very well could be) but accusing people of censorship on here isn't something that's done without proof. All you've given is you're own opinion.

It needs to stop, along with you edit warring. Gorgak25 (talk) 11:43, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The warring can be stopped by a pagelock, ive requested this to no avail, i will not allow sourced relevant information to be continually deleted--Prestigiouzman (talk) 11:47, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As you have been repeatedly told, you have misunderstood your souce (go back and read it - it does not present the passage as a quote from Rawlinson!), which is in any case not reliable and therefore has no place in an encyclopedia. Despite having no excuse for not knowing this, you keep reinserting it. You are a vandal and a troll, you have shown no willingness to edit in good faith, and I would urge anyone with admin powers reading to block you indefinitely. Nicknack009 (talk) 11:52, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Fellas, we getting a bit too deep into the argument. Nicknack, despite it might seem that way, let's assume good faith.
Prestigiouzman, your opinion is that it's relevant, fine. You are entitled to that. But can you explain why? Gorgak25 (talk) 11:56, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Warning

You have broken the three-revert rule on Tuatha Dé Danann. You can be blocked for edit warring. DrKiernan (talk) 11:55, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Sumerian language and Aos Sí shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
