On 22 September 2013, a twin suicide bomb attack took place outside All Saints Church[3] in Peshawar, Pakistan, in which 78 people were killed and 130 injured.[4][5] It was the deadliest attack on the Christian minority in the history of Pakistan.[6]
Bombs
The two suicide bombers first shot dead one of the security guards, injuring the other while entering the church. Stopped by the police, one of the suicide bombers detonated the bomb. The second blast took place inside the church.[1] Another account tells that the suicide bomb blast occurred when the worshipers assembled for a free meal of rice near the front lawn of the church.[6] There were holes in the walls of the church and windows of nearby buildings were shattered by the intensity of the blasts. Bodies of the attackers have been identified and sent for examination. Their suicide vests were made with 6 kilograms (13 lb) of explosives inside.[1] "There were blasts and there was hell for all of us," said Nazir John, who was at the church with at least 400 other worshippers.
"When I got my senses back, I found nothing but smoke, dust, blood and screaming people. I saw severed body parts and blood all around. Blood stained the floor and was splashed on the walls. Plates filled with rice were scattered across the ground".
Perpetrators of the attack
The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan-linked Islamist group Jundallah claimed responsibility for the attack.[7][8] They said that the attack on Christians and non-Muslims will continue because they are the enemies of Islam[8] and that they will not stop until US drone attacks in Pakistan cease.[9][10][11]
Protests by Pakistani Christians
Christians residing near the church went to the streets and started protesting by burning tires and shouting slogans. Many shops were shut in the Kohati Gate area, which is home to many other churches.[8] There were protest rallies in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and other cities to condemn the killing. There were also clashes reported in Karachi between angry protestors and police.[12]
Reactions
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack and said the perpetrators have no religion and that targeting innocent people is against the teachings of Islam.[13]

Current conditions of victims
The death tally mounted to 81 and number of injured persons stood around 145. All expired victims of lethal attacks on church have been buried in different Christian graveyards of Peshawar. Total 56 deceased have been buried in Wazir Bagh Graveyard, 18 in Gora Kabristan, and seven in Phandoo Road Graveyard. It is feared that the death toll could mount further as many injured are still in serious conditions.
