Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02 are the first two seasons of the Digimon anime series. Digimon Adventure originally aired from March 7, 1999 – March 26, 2000 whilst Digimon Adventure 02 originally aired from April 2, 2000 – March 25, 2001 as a direct sequel to the preceding series. Both series feature a variety of different characters but mostly centre upon The DigiDestined, a group of children and their partner Digimon who have been chosen to protect the Digital World from various forces of evil.

DigiDestined

The DigiDestined are a group of children and their partner Digimon who have been chosen to protect the Digital World from various forces of evil. Each child is given a device known as a "Digivice" which serves many purposes but is mostly used to allow their Digimon partners to digivolve into stronger forms.

Prior to the events of the series, The DigiDestined Digimon are created as part of a project to control the balance between good and evil in the Digital World. Each Digimon is attached to a specific digivice and Crest, which in turn are also connected to a specific child. However, the facility in which they are housed comes under attack, forcing Gennai to flee with the eight Digimon (then as eight Digi-eggs), their digivices and their crests. During his escape however, Gatomon's digi-egg becomes separated from the rest, causing her to join Myotismon's army instead. She would reunite with her allies later on after discovering that she was the eighth Digimon and partner of Kari Kamiya, the younger sister of Tai Kamiya, the DigiDestined leader.

The first generation of DigiDestined consisted of eight children (Tai, Matt, Sora, Mimi, Izzy, Joe, T.K. and Kari) and eight Digimon (Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Palmon, Tentomon, Gomamon, Patamon and Gatomon). These children were chosen to become DigiDestined after witnessing a battle between a Greymon and Parrotmon at Highton View Terrace, prior to the events of Digimon Adventure. Four years later, whilst attending summer camp, Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe and T.K. are transported to the Digital World after receiving their Digivices. Once there, they meet and befriend their Digimon partners and together, they embark on a quest to protect the Digital World from various forces of evil. Early on in the series, all the DigiDestined Digimon manage to digivolve into their champion forms, usually when their partner is in some sort of danger. Gatomon was the lone exception as she was separated from the group and naturally digivolved into her champion form during this time. As the series progresses, the DigiDestined learn that their Digimon will be able to digivolve further into their ultimate forms by invoking the powers of Crests which each represent a specific trait that each child possesses. During the DigiDestined's battle against VenomMyotismon, Gennai comes across a prophecy which leads to Agumon and Gabumon warp digivolving into their mega forms, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon.

The second generation of DigiDestined consisted of six children (Davis, Yolei and Cody, T.K. and Kari from the previous generation and Ken after he renounced his evil persona as the Digimon Emperor) and six Digimon (Veemon, Hawkmon, Armadillomon, Patamon and Gatomon from the previous generation and Wormmon). Davis, Yolei, Cody and Ken are given a new type of digivice known as a D3 which, in addition to allowing their partner Digimon to digivolve, can also be used as a way of traveling to and from the real world and Digital World. T.K. and Kari's digivices meanwhile, would change into D3's once they attained their armour digi-eggs. Early on in the series, Ken emerges as the evil Digimon emperor, enslaving innocent Digimon and preventing them from digivolving via the use of "Control Spires". The DigiDestined overcome this by using Digi-Eggs that allow their partner Digimon to "armour digivolve". Each of these Digi-Eggs represent a specific trait, the same traits that are represented by the crests held by members of the previous generation of DigiDestined. As the series progresses, the DigiDestined discover a new form of digivolution known as "DNA Digivolving", which allows two of their Digimon to fuse and digivolve into one ultimate level Digimon. However, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon had also DNA digivolved into Omnimon, prior to the events of Digimon Adventure 02 during their battle against Diaboromon. Towards the ends of the series, Paildramon (X-Veemon and Stingmon's ultimate form through DNA digivolution) gains the ability to mega digivolve into Imperialdramon after all the DigiDestined receive a power boost from one of Azulongmon's digicores. During the DigiDestined's confrontation with SkullSatamon, Imperialdramon gains the ability to switch to his alternate form, "Imperialdramon Fighter Mode", where his "fighting strength is tripled".

During the final events of the series, it is revealed that there are also numerous other DigiDestined from other parts of the world such as Australia, the United States, France, Russia and Asia. These DigiDestined and their partner Digimon would later band together with the second generation of DigiDestined and their Digimon to defeat MaloMyotismon.

Tai

Taichi "Tai" Kamiya, known as Taichi Yagami (八神　太一, Yagami Taichi) in Japan, is the main protagonist of Digimon Adventure and the leader of the original DigiDestined. His aggressive and impulsive personality often puts him in danger but he eventually learns that empathy and compassion are the keys to success rather than reckless courage. Aside from his role as leader of The DigiDestined, Tai is also the star player on his school's soccer team and he is best friends with Sora Takenouchi, another member of The DigiDestined.

Prior to the events of the series, Tai and his younger sister Kari receive a Digi-Egg which eventually digivolves into a Greymon in order to protect them from a Parrotmon, which attacks Highton View Terrace. These events in turn would lead to them being chosen to become members of the DigiDestined. Four years later whilst attending summer camp, Tai and his friends, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe and T.K. are transported to the Digital World after receiving their Digivices. Once there, Tai meets and befriends his partner Digimon, Agumon and takes it upon himself to lead his friends on their journey for civilization. However, the group soon become separated as Devimon divides File Island into separate fragments. During this time, Tai befriends Frigimon who takes him and Agumon to another part of the island where they meet Matt and Gabumon once again. Afterwards, Tai, Matt, Agumon and Gabumon travel to the Primary Village where they are reunited with the rest of their group whilst protecting T.K. from Leomon who had been under the control of a Black Gear. Soon afterwards, Tai and the others learn about their role as the DigiDestined and subsequently defeat Devimon after T.K.'s partner digimon, Patamon digivolves to Angemon.

After Devimon's defeat, The DigiDestined are contacted by a man named Gennai who instructs them on the next phase of their adventure. After leaving File Island, Tai leads his allies to the Server Continent where he obtains the "Crest of Courage", during the group's initial confrontation with Etemon. After becoming the first member of the DigiDestined to find their crest, Tai becomes arrogant and attempts to force Agumon to digivolve into his ultimate form before he is ready, causing Agumon to dark digivolve into SkullGreymon. Tai is left disheartened by this experience but Piximon restores his confidence by reminding him of how he learned to ride a bike. This allows Tai to face his own fear, activating his Crest and allowing Greymon to digivolve into MetalGreymon and defeat Etemon. However, Etemon's defeat causes a dimensional rift to open, which transports Tai and MetalGreymon back into the real world. Soon afterwards however, Tai decides to return to the Digital World to find his friends who by now, have split up to find him.

After reuniting with his allies and reassembling their group, Tai and the others learn of Myotismon's scheme to enter the real world to find and kill the eighth DigiDestined child. Tai and his allies pursue Myotismon and his forces and eventually discover that the eighth DigiDestined child is in fact Tai's younger sister Kari and that her partner Digimon is Gatomon. Although Myotismon is initially defeated by Angewomon, he returns soon afterwards as VenomMyotismon. During this time, Gennai informs the DigiDestined of a prohecy which leads to Agumon and Gabumon warp digivolving into their mega forms, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon after Tai and Matt are shot with arrows of Light and Hope from Angewomon and Angemon respectively. Together with help from the remaining DigiDestined, they are able to defeat VenomMyotismon but are forced to return to the Digital World straight afterwards to do battle against The Dark Masters and later Apocalymon. After Apocalymon's defeat, Tai and his allies are forced to leave the Digital World as it begins its restoration.

In the sequel, Digimon Adventure 02, Tai becomes more patient and mature and relinquishes his role as leader of the DigiDestined to Davis Motomiya and signifies this change by giving him his trademark goggles. In the epilogue, Tai becomes a diplomat for both Earth and the Digital World at the United Nations.

During the events of Digimon Hurricane Landing!/Supreme Evolution! The Golden Digimentals, edited out of Digimon: The Movie, Tai is among those captured by Wendigomon during his search for Willis and is de-aged until Davis and Willis defeat him. Tai is also featured in supplementary audio dramas released on CD during the television series' run, most of which consist miscellaneous adventures with the other DigiDestined that do not relate to the overall plot of the show. These include a mystery adventure Tai and Sora go on and tap dancing to distract Boltmon on Valentine's Day. In an audio drama released years after the end of Digimon Adventure 02, which takes place between Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02, Tai is heard talking to Agumon after a Digiport briefly opens. In addition to his appearances in Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02, Tai also makes a brief appearance in the third and final season of Digimon Xros Wars.

Tai's character was designed by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru. In an exclusive interview released with the Digimon Adventure DVD box on December 21, 2007, producer Satoru Nishizono revealed that as the staff decided on Tai's name using kanji that related to "luck."

In the Japanese version, all of Tai's appearances were voiced by Toshiko Fujita. In the English dub, Joshua Seth provided his voice. However, by the time the film Revenge of Diaboromon was dubbed in English, he was unable for dubbing due to him traveling the world with his touring stage show causing casting director Jeff Nimoy to cast Jason Spisak as his replacement, remarking how similar he sounded to Seth.

In a series of online polls conducted on Toei Animation's Digimon website, Tai was ranked 3rd by Japanese voters as their favorite DigiDestined. When the same question was asked three more times, his rank fell to 6th, rose to 4th, and finally landed at 5th.

Matt

Yamato "Matt" Ishida, known as simply Yamato Ishida (石田　ヤマト, Ishida Yamato) in Japan is a member of the original DigiDestined. Matt lives with his father alone in Odaiba due to a divorce between his parents. This leads to an awkward relationship between his mother and himself, as he feels that they treat each other more as strangers instead of family, as well as pressures him to prioritize T.K.'s safety. In the English version, there was a dub error where Matt indicates that they are half-brothers when in fact they were full brothers.

Matt is regarded as "cool" by his peers and is seen as a "born rebel" who "prefers to do things his own way." However, he can be passionate and emotional as well and behind his façade, lies an "introspective, sensitive side" that comes mostly through his younger brother T.K, whom he is fiercely protective of. He takes caution in the Digital World and often clashes with Tai Kamiya because of the leader's recklessness. Matt owns a harmonica and plays it frequently, usually when he is resting.

When Matt becomes separated from the rest of his group after Devimon divides File Island into separate fragments, Matt remains with Gabumon during this time until they meet Tai and Agumon again. They eventually reunite with the rest of their group at The Primary Village after protecting T.K. from Leomon who had been under the control of a Black Gear at the time. Soon afterwards, Matt and the others learn about their role as the DigiDestined and subsequently defeat Devimon after T.K.'s partner digimon, Patamon digivolves to Angemon.

After Devimon's defeat, The DigiDestined are contacted by a man named Gennai who instructs them on the next phase of their adventure. When a Kuwagamon attacks the DigiDestined, Piximon appears and saves them. Whilst training with him, Matt finds his "Crest of Friendship". When Tai and Agumon are transported back to the real world after Etemon's defeat, Matt and the other DigiDestined split up to find him. Matt stays with his younger brother T.K. and Patamon and they eventually come across an abandoned theme park. Matt decides to ride a swan shaped boat around the nearby lake and promises T.K. that he will be back in a few hours but he and Gabumon become lost and eventually wind up at a restaurant where they find Joe working off his debt. Matt elects to stay with Joe and help him work off his debt but becomes increasingly frustrated with him when he continually causes accidents which force them to continue working. Some time later, Tai arrives at the restaurant along with Agumon, T.K. and Patamon and suggests that they all leave together but Matt refuses to go anywhere with Joe, accusing him of do everything wrong on purpose. Digitamamon and DemiDevimon then attack the group and T.K. is captured by Vegiemon but Joe intervenes and saves him, only to be captured himself. Matt is touched by Joe's willingness to help T.K, despite his treatment of him, activating his "Crest of Friendship" and allowing Garurumon to digivolve into WereGarurumon who then defeats Digitamamon and scares away Vegiemon. After the battle, the boys decide to split up into groups (with Matt staying with T.K.) to follow separate readings on their Digivices in the hopes that it will lead them to their friends.

After reuniting with his allies and reassembling their group, Matt and the others learn of Myotismon's scheme to enter the real world to find and kill the eighth DigiDestined child. This leads to a heated argument between the two and a confrontation between their Digimon which culminates in Matt's departure from the group and the temporary disbandment of the DigiDestined. However, Matt and MetalGarurumon would briefly reunite with the others to aid them in defeating Puppetmon. After Puppetmon's defeat, Matt falls into a state of depression but with Gabumon's continued companionship, he is able to overcome this. They reunite with Joe and Gomamon soon afterwards and help Sora to overcome her doubts as well. They along with their allies, eventually defeat Piedmon, the last of the Dark Masters and later, Apocalymon as well. After Apocalymon's defeat, Matt and his friends are forced to leave the Digital World as it begins its restoration.

In the sequel, Digimon Adventure 02, Matt becomes more mature and easy-going. He forms a band with three other classmates called the Teen-age Wolves (stylized TEEN-AGE WOLVES) and serves as their lead vocalist and bassist. He makes fewer appearances as he relinquishushes most of his responsibilities to Davis Motomiya, the leader of the new generation of DigiDestined but provides assistance and guidance when needed. By the end of the series, Matt becomes an astronaut where he became the first person on Mars when he was supposed to go to the Moon.

Matt's character was designed for the pilot movie storyboard by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru. In an exclusive interview released with the Digimon Adventure DVD box on December 21, 2007, producer Satoru Nishizono revealed that as the staff had agreed on deciding Tai's name, he had tried to name the other characters similarly with kanji that related to "luck." Jeff Nimoy, co-screenwriter of the English version of Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02, noted that if there were anything he could change about Matt, it would be making him "less indecisive", citing his complication of adapting the script of the scene where Matt confronts his feelings in a cave with Gabumon.

In the Japanese version, excluding the pilot film Digimon Adventure, all of Matt's appearances were voiced by Yūto Kazama, although he auditioned for Gabumon and Joe. Masami Kikuchi auditioned for Matt, but was cast as Joe instead. At first, Kazama felt that he couldn't voice a "pretty boy character" like Matt, but later discovered he related to him and ultimately felt as though he "lived as [him]." In the English dub, Matt is voiced by Michael Reisz.

Matt is one of the most popular characters in the Digimon Adventure series. In a series of online polls conducted on Toei Animation's Digimon website, Matt was ranked 1st by Japanese voters as their favorite DigiDestined. When the same question was asked three more times, his rank remained at 1st but fell to 2nd, losing to Kari. In addition to this, Matt is ranked 1st as the DigiDestined voters would want to switch places with, whom the voters would want as a brother, as the best-looking DigiDestined in the winter, and whom the voters would want as their boyfriend. He placed 2nd as the DigiDestined who voters related the most to, as the best-looking DigiDestined in the summer, and as the best-looking DigiDestined in the autumn, and as the DigiDestined who voters thought was the strongest. In addition to this, Matt's harmonica ranked 1st for the individual item of the DigiDestined that the voters would want.

Sora

Sora Takenouchi (武之内 空, Takenouchi Sora) is a member of the original DigiDestined. Despite being somewhat of a tomboy, she takes caution in the Digital World because of Tai's recklessness and serves as the mother figure of the DigiDestined. In addition to her role as a member of the DigiDestined, Sora is best friends with Tai Kamiya and a member of his soccer team along with Izzy.

When Sora is separated from the rest of her group after Devimon divides File Island into separate fragments, she remains with Biyomon during this time until they reunite with the rest of their group at The Primary Village after protecting T.K. from Leomon who had been under the control of a Black Gear at the time. Soon afterwards, Sora and the others learn about their role as the DigiDestined and subsequently defeat Devimon after T.K.'s partner digimon, Patamon digivolves to Angemon.

After Devimon's defeat, The DigiDestined are contacted by a man named Gennai who instructs them on the next phase of their adventure. After leaving File Island, Sora and her allies travel to the Server Continent where Izzy receives a message from a Digimon in danger, claiming to know where the last crest can be found. Motivated by this, the DigiDestined set off to free the imprisoned Digimon, Datamon but as they are trying to free him, Etemon attacks them. As the others fend Etemon off, Datamon escapes, taking Sora and Biyomon along with him. Datamon makes a copy of Sora so that he can use her Digivice and Crest to make Biyomon digivolve and thus exact revenge on Etemon for imprisoning him. However, his plan fails as Tai manages to rescue her and returns her digivice and crest to her, allowing Biyomon to digivolve and help them escape the pyramid before it collapses. After Etemon's defeat, Tai and Agumon are transported back to the real world, prompting Sora and the other DigiDestined to split up and find him. During this time, Sora remained hidden and helped her allies secretly by thwarting DemiDevimon's plans. She stopped Tai and T.K. from eating mushrooms which would have erased their memories, she ruined DemiDevimon's plot to have Matt and Joe work at Digitamamon's restaurant for longer and she consoles Mimi after the latter wakes from a nightmare. Sora eventually reunites with her allies and reveals that she has been avoiding them to have some time to herself as she has been concerned that her "Crest of Love" will never glow. As they settle for the night, DemiDevimon tries to attack Sora but Biyomon protects her and is injured as a result. Myotismon attacks the group shortly afterwards and easily overpowers the other Digimon. Biyomon digivolves into Birdramon, despite Sora's protests but she is also no match for Myotismon. Sora then professes her love for Biyomon, allowing her to digivolve into her ultimate form, Garudamon who then whisks everyone to safety. Soon afterwards, The DigiDestined return to the real world after discovering Myotismon's plan to find and kill the eighth DigiDestined child.

Whilst pursuing Myotismon and his forces, Sora, Mimi and Palmon are captured by a horde of Bakemon led by Phantomon and held captive. They are attacked by a DarkTyrannomon but Palmon manages to digivolve into her ultimate form, Lilymon and stops him. At this point, Myotismon intervenes and defeats Lilymon but Birdramon appears and rescues her and Sora. They eventually reunite with their allies and aid Angewomon in defeating Myotismon before defeating him a second time after he returns as VenomMyotismon. After VenomMyotismon's defeat, Sora and the other DigiDestined are forced to return to the Digital World to do battle against The Dark Masters. As they prepare to face Piedmon, the last of the Dark Masters, Sora begins to doubt herself, causing her and Biyomon to become trapped in a dark cave, similar to the one that Matt had become trapped in when he was depressed. However, with Matt and Joe's help, Sora is able to overcome these doubts and free herself and Biyomon from the dark cave. Afterwards, they reunite with their allies and defeat Piedmon and later, Apocalymon as well. After Apocalymon's defeat, Sora and her friends are forced to leave the Digital World as it begins its restoration.

In the sequel, Digimon Adventure 02, Sora has a more feminine appearance and has switched from soccer to tennis due to a leg injury. She also makes fewer appearances as she has relinquished most of her responsibilities to Yolei Inoue but provides assistance and guidance when needed. During the events of Digimon Hurricane Landing!/Supreme Evolution! The Golden Digimentals, edited out of Digimon: The Movie, Sora is among those captured by Wendigomon during his search for Willis and is de-aged until Davis and Willis defeat him. Due to Digimon Hurricane Landing!/Supreme Evolution! The Golden Digimentals being heavily cut when the movie was localized for Digimon: The Movie, this subplot was removed in the English version. Sora is also featured in supplementary audio dramas released on CD during the television series' run, most of which consist of miscellaneous adventures with the other DigiDestined that do not relate to the overall plot of the show. These include Sora having her own radio show. In an audio drama released years after the end of Digimon Adventure 02, which takes place between Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02, Sora is heard getting closer to her mother and learning how to play tennis.

Izzy

Koushirou "Izzy" Izumi (泉 光子郎, Izumi Kōshirō) is a member of the original DigiDestined. He is a computer expert and lives with his adoptive parents. When he initially found out that he was adopted, he began to subconsciously distance himself from his parents, focusing more on his computer instead. This issue was resolved once his parents came forward with the truth and he accepted them as his true parents.

When the DigiDestined are attacked by Andromon (then under the control of a black gear), Izzy discovers a program on his computer, which leads to Tentomon digivolving into his champion form, Kabuterimon. Kabuterimon then frees Andromon from the black gear's control by destroying it with his "electro shocker" attack. Soon afterwards however, Izzy and Tentomon become separated from their group as Devimon divides File Island into separate fragments. Izzy remains with Tentomon during this time until they reunite with the rest of their group at The Primary Village after protecting T.K. from Leomon who had been under the control of a Black Gear at the time. Soon afterwards, Izzy and the others learn about their role as the DigiDestined and subsequently defeat Devimon after T.K.'s partner digimon, Patamon digivolves to Angemon.

After Devimon's defeat, The DigiDestined are contacted by a man named Gennai who instructs them on the next phase of their adventure. Izzy is quick to point out that Sora may still be located somewhere in the pyramid, which ultimately leads to Tai rescuing her. After Etemon's defeat, Tai and Agumon are transported back to the real world, prompting Izzy and the other DigiDestined to split up and find him. During this time, Izzy and Tentomon end up in Vademon's dimension and Izzy is tricked into giving up his curiosity, causing his mind to become an accepting one that does not question anything. Tentomon tries but fails to snap Izzy out of it and slowly regresses until he reverts to his weakest form, Pabumon. This brings Izzy back to his senses and allows Pabumon to digivolve into his ultimate form, MegaKabuterimon who then destroys Vademon's dimension and defeats the evil digimon himself.

After reuniting with his allies and reassembling their group, Izzy and the others follow Myotismon back to the real world after learning of his scheme to find and kill the eighth DigiDestined child. After Myotismon's first defeat at the hands of Angewomon, Izzy's parents decide to tell him that he was adopted. Izzy reveals that he had heard them talking about it one night and that he had tried to forget about what he had heard by focusing on computers. Izzy's parents assure him that they love him and Izzy accepts them as his real parents. During this time, Myotismon returns as VenomMyotismon but WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon manage to defeat him with the help of the other DigiDestined Digimon. After his defeat, the DigiDestined are forced to return to the Digital World to do battle against The Dark Masters. Shortly after returning, Izzy discovers that WarGreymon is equipped with "Dramon Destroyers", which are particularly effective against Digimon with "Dramon" in their name. This subsequently leads to the defeats of MetalSeadramon and Machinedramon at the hands of WarGreymon. After reuniting with his allies and defeating Piedmon, the last of the four Dark Masters and later, Apocalymon as well, Izzy and his friends are forced to leave the Digital World as it begins its restoration.

Whilst on summer vacation, Izzy discovers a virus on the internet that is infecting a Digi-Egg, causing it to become corrupted and resulting in the birth of Diaboromon. After alerting the others, Izzy arrives at Tai's house and together, they watch the ensuing battle between WarGreymon, MetalGarurumon and Diaboromon on the internet. WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon eventually DNA digivolve into Omnimon but Diaboromon is too quick for him, always jumping to somewhere else whenever Omnimon spots him. Remembering how the high volume of e-mails being sent to his computer had slowed down WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, Izzy devises a plan to slow Diaboromon down in the same way by instead, forwarding all those e-mails to him. His plan works and Omnimon succeeds in defeating Diaboromon.

In the sequel, Digimon Adventure 02 Izzy makes fewer appearances as he relinquishes most of his responsibilities to Cody Hida. However, he continues to aid the new generation of DigiDestined by using his computing expertise to monitor the Digital World and alert them about any problems. With Willis' help, Izzy discovers that the new digivices given to the new generation of DigiDestined have three functions and subsequently dubs them D3's. As the new DigiDestined battle against The Digimon Emperor, Izzy devises a plan to invade his base by using Cody's information on pipelines that cross with the emperor's base.

In the Japanese version, Izzy is voiced by Umi Tenjin. In the English dub, Izzy is voiced by Mona Marshall.

Mimi

Mimi Tachikawa (太刀川 ミミ, Tachikawa Mimi) is a member of the original DigiDestined. She is characterised by her blunt and outspoken nature. Mimi lives with her parents in Odaiba as an only child, although an error occurs in the English dub where Mimi mentions having a baby brother. Mimi was most affected by the events taking place around The DigiDestined, to the point where she refused to fight as she did not want any more of their Digimon friends from getting hurt. However, she eventually realizes that she has to fight in order to save the Digital World.

When Mimi is separated from the rest of her group after Devimon divides File Island into separate fragments, she remains with Palmon during this time until they reunite with the rest of their group at The Primary Village after protecting T.K. from Leomon who had been under the control of a Black Gear at the time. Soon afterwards, Mimi and the others learn about their role as the DigiDestined and subsequently defeat Devimon after T.K.'s partner digimon, Patamon digivolves to Angemon.

After Devimon's defeat, The DigiDestined are contacted by a man named Gennai who instructs them on the next phase of their adventure. After leaving File Island, Mimi and her allies travel to the Server Continent where they eventually end up in a desert. During this time, Mimi tries to make Tai feel better after he had caused Agumon to dark digivolve into SkullGreymon. When a large cruise ship appears before them all, Mimi manages to convince a Numemon on board to let them on. However, the ship is run by Kokatorimon, a servant of Etemon who begins taking out the DigiDestined and their Digimon by turning them into stone. After escaping the ship, Kokatorimon continues to pursue them, forcing them to seek refuge behind a large cactus where they find Mimi's "Crest of Sincerity". After Etemon's defeat, Tai and Agumon are transported back to the real world, prompting Mimi and the other DigiDestined to split up and find him. During this time, Mimi and Palmon meet a group of Gekomon and Otamamon who wait on Mimi hand on foot, treating her as though she is a princess so that she will sing and wake up their master, ShogunGekomon. Tai and Joe eventually show up and fail to get Mimi to leave with them. However, she comes to her senses after having a nightmare and manages to wake ShogunGekomon up by singing but he attacks her and her friends. After his defeat at the hands of MetalGreymon, Mimi leaves with Tai and Joe to find the rest of their group.

After reuniting with her allies and reassembling their group, Mimi and the others follow Myotismon back to the real world after learning of his scheme to find and kill the eighth DigiDestined child. Whilst pursuing Myotismon and his forces, Mimi, Sora and Palmon are captured by a horde of Bakemon led by Phantomon and held captive. They are attacked by a DarkTyrannomon but Palmon manages to digivolve into her ultimate form, Lilymon and stops him. At this point, Myotismon intervenes and defeats Lilymon but Birdramon appears and rescues Sora. Mimi is left behind but is later rescued by Tai and together, they eventually reunite with their allies and aid Angewomon in defeating Myotismon before defeating him a second time after he returns as VenomMyotismon. After VenomMyotismon's defeat, Mimi and the other DigiDestined are forced to return to the Digital World to do battle against The Dark Masters. Shortly afterwards, a heated argument erupts between Tai and Matt, which causes Mimi to leave the group as she doesn't want to fight anymore or see anyone get hurt. Joe joins her so that she doesn't have to be alone. During this time, they begin gathering allies to aid them in their battle against The Dark Masters. Mimi eventually leads these allies into battle against Piedmon where she is reunited with the other DigiDestined and together, they all manage to defeat him. After defeating Apocalymon alongside the other DigiDestined, Mimi and her friends are forced to leave the Digital World as it begins its restoration.

In the sequel, Digimon Adventure 02, Mimi has moved to New York City. Despite the move, Mimi manages to make her way to the Digital World on occasion. In the events of Digimon Hurricane Landing!/Supreme Evolution! The Golden Digimentals, removed from Digimon: The Movie, Mimi was giving TK and Kari a tour of New York before she was captured by Wendigomon, is de-aged until Davis and Willis defeat him. Mimi is also featured in supplementary audio dramas released on CD during the television series' run, most of which consist of miscellaneous adventures with the other DigiDestined that do not relate to the overall plot of the show. These include Mimi comically battling Kari over identifying whom Izzy's love letter is addressed to and being captured by Boltmon on Valentine's Day. In an audio drama released years after the end of Digimon Adventure 02, which takes place between Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02, Mimi documents her new life in New York as well as the September 11 attacks, which took place shortly after she arrived.

Mimi's character was designed for the pilot movie storyboard by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru. In an exclusive interview released with the Digimon Adventure DVD box on December 21, 2007, producer Satoru Nishizono revealed that as the staff had agreed on deciding Tai's name, he had tried to name the other characters similarly with kanji that related to "luck". In Japan, excluding the pilot film Digimon Adventure, all of Mimi's appearances were voiced by Ai Maeda, who originally auditioned for Sora. Umi Tenjin had also auditioned for Mimi, but was cast as Izzy instead. In the English dub, Mimi is voiced by Philece Sampler.

In a series of online polls conducted on Toei Animation's Digimon website, Mimi was ranked 6th by Japanese voters as Favorite DigiDestined. When the same question was asked three more times, her rank rose to 3rd, fell to 9th, and failed to chart on the final poll. Mimi is ranked first as the DigiDestined who voters related the most to.

Joe

Joe Kido, known in Japan as Jou Kido (城戸 丈, Kido Jō), is a member of the original DigiDestined. In the Japanese anime, Joe has two older brothers, named Shin and Shuu but these two brothers "became" one brother named Jim in the English anime, during the dubbing process. Joe's father had hoped that both boys would become doctors, a tradition which had existed since the Edo period. Joe is the bearer of the Crest of Reliability (Faithfulness/Sincerity/Integrity in Japan).

As the DigiDestined continue to journey throughout File Island, Joe begins to feel more and more responsible for the group's safety as he is the eldest member of the group. One night, Joe and Gomamon sneak off to climb Infinity Mountain, but once there, they are attacked by Unimon who is under the control of a black gear. When Sora, Tai, Birdramon and Greymon appear and fail to defeat Unimon, Joe jumps onto his back and tries to extract the black gear. His actions cause Gomamon to digivolve into Ikkakukmon who then destroys the black gear and frees Unimon from its control. Soon afterwards however, Joe and Gomamon become separated from their group as Devimon divides File Island into separate fragments. Joe remains with Gomamon during this time until they reunite with the rest of their group at The Primary Village after protecting T.K. from Leomon who had been under the control of a Black Gear at the time. Soon afterwards, Joe and the others learn about their role as the DigiDestined and subsequently defeat Devimon after T.K.'s partner digimon, Patamon digivolves to Angemon.

After Devimon's defeat, The DigiDestined are contacted by a man named Gennai who instructs them on the next phase of their adventure. After leaving File Island, Joe and his allies travel to the Server Continent where they eventually wind up in the desert. Whilst searching for his crest, Joe and the others are trapped by Etemon in a soccer goal and are forced to confront a Greymon. As they dig their way out of the trap, they come across Joe's "Crest of Reliability" and eventually manage to escape. When Tai and Agumon are transported back to the real world after Etemon's defeat, Joe and the other DigiDestined split up to find him. During this time, DemiDevimon leads Joe and Gomamon to a restaurant where they order a large meal but they are not able to pay for the meal as Digitamamon, the owner of the restaurant, only accepts money from the real world, forcing Joe to work off their debt. Matt and Gabumon arrive at the restaurant a short while later and Matt elects to stay with Joe to help him work off his debt. However, Matt becomes increasingly frustrated with Joe when he continually causes accidents which forces them to continue working. Some time later, Tai arrives at the restaurant along with Agumon, T.K. and Patamon and suggests that they all leave together but Matt refuses to go anywhere with Joe, accusing him of doing everything wrong on purpose. Digitamamon and DemiDevimon then attack the group and T.K. is captured by Vegiemon but Joe intervenes and saves him, only to be captured himself. They are both eventually rescued by WereGarurumon. After the battle, the boys decide to split up into groups (with Joe joining Tai) to follow separate readings on their Digivices in the hopes that it will lead them to their friends. After reuniting with his allies and reassembling their group, Joe and the others follow Myotismon back to the real world after learning of his scheme to find and kill the eighth DigiDestined child.

Whilst pursuing Myotismon and his forces, Joe and T.K. are attacked by one of his henchman, MegaSeadramon and thrown into the water. When Joe sacrifices himself to keep T.K. afloat, he activates his crest, allowing Ikkakumon to digivolve into his ultimate form, Zudomon who rescues them before defeating MegaSeadramon. After the battle, they find Wizardmon in the water with Kari's tag and crest. They eventually reunite with their allies and aid Angewomon in defeating Myotismon before defeating him a second time after he returns as VenomMyotismon. After VenomMyotismon's defeat, Joe and the other DigiDestined are forced to return to the Digital World to do battle against The Dark Masters. Shortly afterwards however, a heated argument erupts between Tai and Matt, which causes the DigiDestined to disband temporarily. Joe decides to stay with Mimi during this time so that she doesn't have to be alone and together, they begin gathering allies to aid them in their battle against The Dark Masters. When they arrive at the Primary Village however, Joe decides to leave Mimi with the Digimon allies they have gathered to go and search for Matt but insists that he must do this alone as he hopes to figure out his place within their group. Joe and Gomamon reunite with Matt and Gabumon soon afterwards and together, they help Sora to overcome her doubts before reuniting with the rest of their allies to defeat Piedmon, the last of the Dark Masters and later, Apocalymon as well. After Apocalymon's defeat, Joe and his friends are forced to leave the Digital World as it begins its restoration.

In the sequel, Digimon Adventure 02, Joe makes fewer appearances as he relinquishushes most of his responsibilities to Cody Hida, but provides assistance and guidance when needed.

In the Japanese version, Joe is voiced by Masami Kikuchi. In the English dub, Joe is voiced by Michael Lindsay.

T.K.

Takeru "T.K." Takaishi, known simply as Takeru Takaishi (高石 タケル, Takaishi Takeru) in Japan, is a member of both the original DigiDestined and the second generation of DigiDestined. He is gentle, sweet-natured, and generous. He is also obedient and follows the DigiDestined's lead without complaints. He is also described as Kari Kamiya's "equal."

T.K. is the only member of the DigiDestined not to attend the same school as the rest of the DigiDestined as he initially lives in Sangenjaya instead of Odaiba. He is younger brother of Matt, but lives with his mother, journalist Nancy Takaishi (Natsuko Takaishi (高石　夏子, Takaishi Natsuko) in the original version), instead due to a divorce between their parents. Although T.K. was too young to remember the events of the divorce clearly, he is still affected by it and does not like to openly talk about it. Despite the distance between T.K. and Matt, he admires Matt greatly and tries to be brave to "impress" him, although he begins to open up to the other DigiDestined as well, particularly Tai. In the English dub, an error occurs where Matt indicates that they are half-brothers when in fact they are full brothers.

When Devimon divides File Island into separate fragments, T.K. becomes separated from the other DigiDestined and remains with Patamon during this time. They eventually arrive at the Primary Village, a place where Digimon are born. After meeting and befriending Elecmon, they are attacked by Leomon (who is under the control of black gears), forcing them to run and hide but they are found by Ogremon. However, the other DigiDestined appear and save them by freeing Leomon from the black gears' control and forcing Ogremon to retreat. After the battle, T.K. and the others learn about their role as the DigiDestined and set off to defeat Devimon in the hopes that doing so will restore File Island to its normal state and allow them all to return home. Even with Leomon's help however, the DigiDestined are no match for Devimon and defeated, leaving only T.K. and Patamon behind. As Devimon prepares to grab T.K, Patamon jumps in front of him to protect him, allowing him to finally digivolve into his champion form, Angemon. After gathering energy from his allies, Angemon is able to defeat Devimon but this also comes at the cost of his own life, leaving T.K. extremely traumatized by the experience. After the battle, Angemon's feathers form into a Digi-Egg which T.K. vows to protect so that his partner can be reborn.

After Devimon's defeat, The DigiDestined are contacted by a man named Gennai who instructs them on the next phase of their adventure. They all leave File Island and travel to the Server Continent where T.K. finds his "Crest of Hope" in the desert. When Tai and Agumon are transported back to the real world after Etemon's defeat, T.K. and the other DigiDestined split up to find him. T.K. stays with his older brother Matt, Tokomon and Gabumon and they eventually come across an abandoned theme park. Matt decides to ride a swan shaped boat around the nearby lake and promises T.K. that he will be back in a few hours but he and Gabumon become lost, leaving T.K. and Tokomon alone by themselves. During this time, they meet DemiDevimon who manages to split them apart by breaking down their friendship. However, T.K. is eventually reunited with Tokomon along with Tai and Agumon as well. DemiDevimon appears once again and tries to erase their memories by feeding them poisonous mushrooms but a mystery voice (later revealed to be Sora) warns Agumon about the plot who then stops T.K. and Tai from eating the mushrooms. With DemiDevimon's true nature revealed, T.K. repairs his relationship with Tokomon who then digivolves into Patamon and drives DemiDevimon away. T.K. and Patamon then leave the amusement park with Tai and Agumon to search for the others. A short while later, they are reunited with Matt, Gabumon, Joe and Gomamon but are also attacked by DemiDevimon and Digitamamon. In all the chaos, T.K. is captured by Vegiemon who also captures Joe after he tries to save T.K. but they are both eventually rescued by WereGarurumon who had digivolved after Matt had activated his "Crest of Friendship". After the battle, the boys decide to split up into groups (with T.K. staying with Matt) to follow separate readings on their Digivices in the hopes that it will lead them to their friends. After reuniting with his allies and reassembling their group, T.K. and the others follow Myotismon back to the real world after learning of his scheme to find and kill the eighth DigiDestined child.

Whilst travelling on the subway, a misunderstanding causes T.K. to yell at Patamon who then flies off at the next stop. As T.K., Matt and Gabumon search for him, they befriend Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon but are also confronted by Myotismon. Patamon witnesses the battle at a nearby park and digivolves into Angemon and together with WereGarurumon's help, succeeds in forcing Myotismon to retreat. After the battle, T.K. apologizes to Patamon for his outburst from earlier and they all resume their search for the eighth DigiDestined child. They eventually reunite with their allies and aid Angewomon in defeating Myotismon before defeating him a second time after he returns as VenomMyotismon. After VenomMyotismon's defeat, T.K. and the other DigiDestined are forced to return to the Digital World to do battle against The Dark Masters.

When the DigiDestined encounter Puppetmon, T.K. agrees to play a game of hide and go seek with him so that Matt's life is spared. He ends up exploring Puppetmon's mansion and manages to destroy a number of devices that Puppetmon has been using to control the forest, before escaping and reuniting with the rest of his group.

In the sequel, Digimon Adventure 02, T.K. and his mother relocate to a new apartment building in Odaiba, where he becomes neighbors with Cody Hida and Yolei Inoue, two new members of the new generation of DigiDestined. Although much of his physical appearance has changed, particularly his height, his gentle personality has remained. T.K. is also featured in supplementary audio dramas released on CD during the television series' run, most of which consist miscellaneous adventures with the other DigiDestined that do not relate to the overall plot of the show. These include a battle T.K. has in his dream during New Years and tap dancing to distract Boltmon on Valentine's Day. In an audio drama released years after the end of Digimon Adventure 02, T.K. is heard compiling a novel about his adventures in the Digital World.

Yamamoto's portrayal of T.K. is described as more "adult-like [in comparison to his voice in Digimon Adventure]" and that "his gentle voice suits [T.K.] perfectly." In the English dub, Wendee Lee provides his voice in the Digimon Adventure continuity while Doug Erholtz provides his voice in Digimon Adventure 02. Lee indicated that T.K. was her favorite character to voice during her work in the Digimon Adventure series.

Initially, T.K. was unpopular with the viewers, but Digimon Adventure 02 saw a rise in his popularity. In a series of online polls conducted on Toei Animation's Digimon website, T.K. was ranked 7th by Japanese voters as Favorite DigiDestined. When the same question was asked two more times, his rank rose to 2nd, but fell to 3rd. T.K. is also ranked 1st as whom the voters would want as a younger brother and as the DigiDestined whom the voters thought was the strongest,. He placed 2nd as the DigiDestined voters would want to switch places with and as the best-looking DigiDestined in the winter. When voters were asked which DigiDestined they would want as their boyfriend, T.K. placed in 3rd. Jeff Nimoy, co-screenwriter of the English version of Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02, however, found T.K. "[uninteresting]" for both series and that there was "not much there for T.K.'s personality, unless Davis was pushing his buttons."

Kari

Kari Kamiya, known as Hikari Yagami (八神 ヒカリ, Yagami Hikari) in Japan, is Tai's younger sister and a member of both the original DigiDestined and second generation of DigiDestined. She did not attend summer camp with the other members of the original DigiDestined due to poor health. She is characterised as a compassionate girl who always puts others before herself. Revealed to be "the eighth DigiDestined child" (八番目の選ばれし子供, Hachi-banme no erabareshi kodomo) Kari admires Tai and is seen as an equal to T.K.

In the sequel, Digimon Adventure 02, Kari has matured into a "smiling, charmingly energetic, and bright girl", but has also become "mischievous" and "playful". She now dons a digital camera as a trademark item instead of her camp whistle. Joining the new DigiDestinated, Kari obtained the Digi-egg of Light (光のデジメンタル, Hikari no dejimentaru). Davis Motomiya develops an unrequited crush on her and vies for her affections several times.

When the same question was asked two more times, her rank fell to 5th, and then 6th, but finally landed at 1st. In addition to this, Kari is ranked 1st as whom the voters would want as a younger sister and as the best-looking DigiDestined in the spring. She placed in 3rd as the DigiDestined who the voters thought was the strongest and as the best-looking DigiDestined in the winter.

In the Japanese version, Kari is voiced by Kae Araki. In the English dub, Kari is voiced by Lara Jill Miller.

Davis

Davis Motomiya, known in Japan as Daisuke Motomiya (本宮 大輔, Motomiya Daisuke), is the main protagonist of Digimon Adventure 02 and the leader of the second generation of DigiDestined.

In the Japanese version, Davis is voiced by Reiko Kiuchi. In the English dub, Davis is voiced by Brian Donovan.

Ken

Ken Ichijouji (一乗寺 賢, Ichijōji Ken) is originally the Digimon Emperor (Digimon Kaiser in the Japanese version) and later the final member of the second generation of DigiDestined. Unlike the other DigiDestined, he lives in Tamachi, which is next to Odaiba. Having been to the Digital World before with Ryo Akiyama, Ken was afflicted with a Dark Spore from Milleniumon before returning to his world. Soon after the death of his older brother Osamu Ichijoji, Ken received an e-mail from Oikawa that caused the Dark Spore's influence to take hold. As a result, Ken donned the alias of the Digimon Emperor (Dejimon Kaizaa, Digimon Kaiser), becoming more like his brother while detaching himself from reality. It took Wormmon's sacrifice to make Ken realize the evil he committed. Soon after being reunited with Wormmon, learning of Arukenimon, Ken decides to atone for his wicked acts and joins the DigiDestined in fighting her and Oikawa.

In the Japanese version, Ken is voiced by Romi Park. In the English dub, Ken is voiced by Derek Stephen Prince

Yolei

Yolei Inoue, known as Miyako Inoue (井ノ上 京, Inoue Miyako) in Japan, is a member of the second generation of DigiDestined and the holder of the Digi-eggs of Love and Sincerity, known as the Digimental of Love (愛情のデジメンタル, Aijō no dejimentaru) the Digimental of Purity (純真のデジメンタル, Junshin no dejimentaru) respectively in the original version. Yolei has good computer skills and technical knowledge.

In the Japanese version, Yolei is voiced by Rio Natsuki in the Japanese version. In the English dub, Yolei is voiced by Tifanie Christun.

Cody

Cody Hida, known as Iori Hida (火田 伊織, Hida Iori) in Japan, is the youngest member of the second generation of DigiDestined. Much of his maturity and wisdom comes from his grandfather, Chikara Hida, who is also his Kendo teacher. At the end of the series, Cody becomes a Defense Attorney

In the Japanese version, Cody is voiced by Megumi Urawa. In the English dub, Cody is voiced by Philece Sampler.

Agumon (アグモン) is a reptile Digimon and the partner of Tai Kamiya, the leader of the original DigiDestined. When Tai and the other DigiDestined children arrive in the Digital World for the very first time, they meet Koromon and the other DigiDestined Digimon. When they are all attacked by a Kuwagamon, all the digimon digivolve into their rookie forms to protect their partners. From this point forward, Koromon is mostly seen in his rookie form, Agumon. After their encounter with Kuwagamon, the DigiDestined and their Digimon are attacked by a Shellmon. As Agumon is the only one who has eaten, he is the only one with the strength to fight Shellmon but he is unable to defeat him in his current state. Tai tries to help Agumon by distracting Shellmon but he is caught. As Shellmon prepares to attack the others, Agumon digivolves into his champion form, Greymon and manages to defeat Shellmon. However, the group soon become separated as Devimon divides File Island into separate fragments. During this time, Agumon remains with Tai until they are reunited with the rest of their group. In their confrontation with Devimon, Agumon and his Digimon allies all digivolve into their champion forms to fight him but they are all no match for him. However, T.K.'s digimon partner Patamon finally digivolves into his champion form, Angemon and manages to defeat Devimon.

After Devimon's defeat, The DigiDestined are told by Gennai to travel to the Server Continent. After obtaining his "Crest of Courage" during the group's initial confrontation with Etemon, Tai becomes arrogant and tries to force Agumon to digivolve to the ultimate level, first by overfeeding him then by putting himself directly in harm's way. This causes Agumon to dark digivolve into SkullGreymon. Although Tai is initially left disheartened by this experience, he is able to regain his confidence with Piximon's help, allowing him to overcome his fears and thus activate his "Crest of Courage", allowing Greymon to digivolve into his ultimate form, MetalGreymon and defeat Etemon. However, Etemon's defeat causes a dimensional rift to open, which transports MetalGreymon and Tai back into the real world. Soon afterwards however, they return to the Digital World to find their friends who by now, have split up to find Tai.

After reuniting with their allies, they return to the real world to stop Myotismon from finding and killing the eighth DigiDestined child. After attempting to rescue the citizens who have been trapped by Myotismon, MetalGreymon and Tai reunite with their allies to confront the evil Digimon himself. After Gatomon digivolves into Angewomon, MetalGreymon and the other DigiDestined digimon lend their powers to her, allowing her to defeat Myotismon with her "Celestial Arrow" attack. However, Myotismon returns soon afterwards as VenomMyotismon. During this time, Gennai informs the DigiDestined of a prohecy which leads to Agumon and Gabumon warp digivolving into their mega forms, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon after Tai and Matt are shot with arrows of Hope and Light from Angemon and Angewomon respectively. Together with help from the remaining DigiDestined, they are able to defeat VenomMyotismon but are forced to return to the Digital World straight afterwards to do battle against The Dark Masters.

Upon their return to the Digital World, they are confronted by the Dark Masters: MetalSeadramon, Puppetmon, Machinedramon and Piedmon. WarGreymon and his allies are easily defeated and only escape because of Piximon's sacrifice. A short while later, Izzy discovers that WarGreymon is equipped with "Dramon Destroyers", which are particularly effective against Digimon with "Dramon" in their name. WarGreymon is initially overpowered by MetalSeadramon and almost defeated but Whamon intervenes, sacrificing his life in the process and allowing WarGreymon to defeat MetalSeadramon. However, a hearted argument between Tai and Matt erupts soon afterwards, causing the DigiDestined to disband temporarily. Whilst separated, Tai's younger sister Kari becomes ill, prompting him to go in search of a cure and causing him to unknowingly walk into Machinedramon's domain. Although Koromon is initially too weak to fight, he is empowered by Kari's "Crest of Light", allowing him to digivolve to WarGreymon and defeat Machinedramon. Shortly afterwards, the DigiDestined reunite to confront Piedmon, the last of the Dark Masters but WarGreymon and most of his allies are turned into key chains. They are eventually saved by MagnaAngemon and defeat Piedmon with the help of their allies.

After Piedmon's defeat however, Gennai warns the DigiDestined about an ancient evil which has now resurfaced. Apocalymon appears and overwhelms the DigiDestined by using the attacks of the evil Digimon they have defeated against them before destroying their tags and crests and deleting them. Agumon and Tai encourage their allies not give up, leading them all to discover that the power of their crests has been present within each and everyone one of them this entire time. With their powers restored, Agumon and his Digimon allies all digivolve to their strongest forms and confront Apocalymon once again. With help from the other DigiDestined, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon successfully destroy Apocalymon's body but he makes one last attempt to destroy both the real world and the Digital World with his "Total Annihilation" attack but he fails as the force of the attack is contained by the DigiDestined's digivices. After Apocalymon's defeat, Agumon and the other DigiDestined are forced to part ways with their partners as the gate between the real world and Digital World closes, which would prevent Tai and his friends from getting back home.

Other Forms

Greymon (グレイモン, Gureimon): Agumon's Champion form, a Dinosaur-type Digimon with a muscular chest and forearms, orange skin with blue stripes, and a brown helmet with antler-like horns on the side and a single horn on the nose. Agumon first assumed the form to protect Tai from a Shellmon. His trademark attack is Nova Blast (Mega Flame in the Japanese version), a large powerful fireball fired from his mouth.

MetalGreymon (メタルグレイモン, Metarugureimon): Agumon's Ultimate form, a Cyborg-type Digimon whose strength is said to be comparable to that of a nuclear warhead. Agumon first assumed this form when Tai invoked his "Crest of Courage" during the DigiDestined's final battle with Etemon. His primary attack is Giga Destroyer (Giga Blaster in the English dub), two highly destructive missiles that are fired from his chestplate.

SkullGreymon (スカルグレイモン, Sukarugureimon): Agumon's alternate Ultimate form, an Undead-type Digimon that resulted from forced digivolution. Overwhelmed by the urge to battle, SkullGreymon attacks friend and foe alike with his Dark Shot missile attack before losing enough energy to regress to a lesser form. His primary attack, Dark Shot (Ground Zero in the Japanese version), fires a missile from his spinal cord.

WarGreymon (ウォーグレイモン, Wōgureimon): Agumon's Mega form, a Dragonoid Digimon clad in Chrome Digizoid armor equipped with Dramon Destroyer gauntlets who fights with improved speed and strength. Agumon first assumed this form during the battle against VenomMyotismon. He also assumed this form during the battles against The Dark Masters and later Apocalymon. WarGreymon's two primary attacks are Terra Force (Gaia Force in the Japanese version), which involves gathering all of the energy into one spot then firing it as a super-dense, high-temperature fireball energy shot, and Brave Tornado (also Terra Force in the English dub), which involves spinning at himself at a tremendous speed then launching himself at his enemy.

Omnimon: This is the form that Agumon assumes when he DNA digivolves with MetalGarurumon as WarGreymon. Agumon first assumed this form during the battle against Diaboromon.

Gabumon

Gabumon is a reptile Digimon and the partner of Yamato "Matt" Ishida, a member of the original DigiDestined. Gabumon's name is derived from the "Gabu Kashira" of Japanese Kabuki theatre, a puppet whose face instantly changes from that of a timid maiden to a horned fiend with the pull of a string. When Matt and the other DigiDestined children arrive in the Digital World for the very first time, they meet Tsunomon and the other DigiDestined Digimon. When they are all attacked by a Kuwagamon, all the digimon digivolve into their rookie forms to protect their partners. From this point forward, Tsunomon is mostly seen in his rookie form, Gabumon. Whilst camping one night in the Digital World, the DigiDestined are attacked by a Seadramon so Matt and Gabumon jump into the water to distract him but he grabs Matt instead, prompting Gabumon to digivolve into his champion form, Garurumon to protect him. Shortly afterwards, the group become separated as Devimon divides File Island into separate fragments. During this time, Gabumon remains with Matt until they are reunited with the rest of their group. In their confrontation with Devimon, Gabumon and his Digimon allies all digivolve into their champion forms to fight him but they are all no match for him. However, T.K.'s digimon partner Patamon finally digivolves into his champion form, Angemon and manages to defeat Devimon.

After Devimon's defeat, The DigiDestined are told by Gennai to travel to the Server Continent. A short while later, Matt finds his "Crest of Friendship" whilst he and the other DigiDestined are being trained by Piximon. After Etemon's defeat, Gabumon and the other DigiDestined split up to look for Tai and Agumon who have been transported back to the real world. Gabumon remains with Matt during this time and they eventually come across a restaurant where Joe is working for Digitamamon to work off his debt. Soon afterwards, they are attacked by Digitamamon along with DemiDevimon and Vegiemon but Matt manages to invoke the power of his crest, allowing Garurumon to digivolve into his ultimate form, WereGarurumon and defeat Digitamamon. After reuniting with their allies, they all return to the real world to stop Myotismon from finding and killing the eighth DigiDestined child.

After Gatomon digivolves into Angewomon, WereGarurumon and the other DigiDestined digimon lend their powers to her, allowing her to defeat Myotismon with her "Celestial Arrow" attack. They are eventually saved by MagnaAngemon and defeat Piedmon with the help of their allies.

Other Forms

Garurumon: Gabumon's champion form, a large, wolf-like beast with white sharp fur and dark blue stripes. Gabumon first assumed this form after Matt was grabbed by a Seadramon. His trademark attack is "Howling Blaster", blue icy cold flames that are fired from his mouth.

WereGarururmon: Gabumon's ultimate form. Modeled after werewolves, WereGarurumon stands upright and has an anthropomorphic build. Gabumon first assumed this form when Matt invoked his "Crest of Friendship" during a battle against Digitamamon, DemiDevimon and Vegiemon. His primary attack is "Wolf Claw", where he slashes his opponents with his powerful claws.

MetalGarurumon: Gabumon's mega form, a completely mechanized wolf. Gabumon first assumed this form during the battle against VenomMyotismon. He also assumed this form during the battles against The Dark Masters and later Apocalymon. His primary attacks are "Metal Wolf Claw" where he fires a blue blast of icy breath from his mouth and "Ice Wolf Claw" where he launches missiles from weapons hidden all over his body.

Omnimon: This is the form that Gabumon assumes when he DNA digivolves with WarGreymon as MetalGarurumon. Gabumon first assumed this form during the battle against Diaboromon.

Biyomon

Biyomon's name derived from the onomatopoeia for tweeting (ぴよぴよ, Piyopiyo), Biyomon is a small bird with much curiosity whose wings double as arms that she uses to grip objects. There are several different Biyomon that appear in various Digimon anime and manga series. The most well-known appearance of Biyomon is in the Digimon Adventure anime as the partner of Sora Takenouchi, who also appears in the sequel series Digimon Adventure 02 and all the Digimon Adventure/02 related movies. Biyomon digivolves from Nyokimon and Yokomon and digivolves into Birdramon and Garudamon. In the Digimon Adventure video game adaptation, Biyomon can warp digivolve into Phoenixmon.

Tentomon

Based on a Ladybug (瓢虫, Tentoumushi), Tentomon is a naturally friendly Digimon with carefree way of life (he often expresses this by sniffing the scent of flowers or napping under a tree). There are several different Tentomon that appear in various Digimon anime and manga series. The most well-known appearance of Tentomon is in the Digimon Adventure anime as the partner of Izzy Izumi, who also appears in the sequel series Digimon Adventure 02 and all the Digimon Adventure/02 related movies. Tentomon digivolves from Pabumon and Motimon and digivolves into Kabuterimon, and MegaKabuterimon. In the Digimon Adventure video game adaptation, Tentomon can warp digivolve into HerculesKabuterimon.

Palmon

Voiced by: Shihomi Mizowaki (Japanese); Anna Garduno, Mari Devon (Togemon), Dorothy Elias-Fahn (Lillymon) (English)

Palmon (パルモン, Parumon) is a plant Digimon with reptile features, able to use her clawed tendrils in her multi-purpose Poison Ivy attack. Hatched from her DigiEgg as a Yuramon (ユラモン) and naturally digivolving into Tanemon (タネモン), Palmon assumed her current form to protect Mimi from a Kuwagamon. Good friends with Mimi, Palmon sees the good in her and often tries to make her partner appreciate what she has. But when they are forced to part, Palmon was reluctant to say goodbye and hid away from Mimi until she leaves, apologizing and waving goodbye. The two are reunited a few years later.

• Togemon (トゲモン): Palmon's Champion form, a large Haniwa-faced cactus with a tuft of orange hair and wears a pair of boxing gloves. Togemon's strongest attribute is her berserker rage, becoming violent in a fight and able to execute her Needle Spray attack, shooting the prickles on her body at her opponent.
• Lillymon (リリモン, Lilimon): Palmon's Ultimate form, a childlike fairy Digimon born from flowers in bloom. Possessing an unfathomable power within and able to fly with the four leaf-like wings growing from her back, Lillymon's trademark attack is Flower Cannon. Palmon assumed the form as the result of Mimi's Crest reacting to its owner shredding tears of sincerity when her father almost got himself killed when he used a car to try and stop DarkTyrannomon.

Gomamon

Gomamon is a creature who appears to be based on a young harp seal. He has purple markings and spots all over his body as a design as well as some orange hair on the back of his head. Gomamon Digivolves from Bukamon and Digivolves into Ikkakumon and Zudomon. In the Digimon Adventure video game adaptation, Gomamon can warp digivolve into Vikemon.

Patamon

Patamon (パタモン) is a main character in Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02, as well as the movies Digimon Adventure (the movie), Our War Game!, The Golden Digimentals and Diaboromon Strikes Back. Patamon can be seen as one of the most important Digimon throughout the first season, because without him Devimon would never have been defeated and Myotismon would have killed Kari and Piedmon would have won the final battle. Patamon Digivolves from Poyomon and Tokomon, and into Angemon, MagnaAngemon, Pegasusmon, Manbomon, Shakkoumon, and Seraphimon.

Gatomon

Voiced by: Yuka Tokumitsu (Japanese); Edie Mirman, Keira Knightley (Movie 4) (UK) (English)

Gatomon (テイルモン, Teirumon, Tailmon) is an Exalted Beast Digimon in the form of a white cat with a power ring on her tail. Unlike the others, Gatomon is a champion level Digimon and thus the oldest of the original eight. Originally, Gatomon's DigiEgg was separated from the other seven Chosen Digimon during an attack by Piedmon. When she hatched later digivolved into Salamon (プロットモン, Purottomon, Plotmon), she went on her journey to look for someone before she is found by Myotismon and conditioned by his brutal beatings into one of the evil Digimon's lieutenants. During this time, she gained a rival in DemiDevimon while befriending Wizardmon. Gatomon accompanied Myotismon and his army in the assault on the Real World in the search of the Eighth Child, Gatomon found Kari yet could not silence her. This led to Wizardmon helping Gatomon gain closure by helping reveal her to be the partner of the Eighth DigiDestined, Kari. However, Myotismon also discovered this and captured Gatomon and used her to identify Kari before the girl willingly gave herself up to stop the bloodshed, despite the protests of Gatomon and the other DigiDestined. After avenging Wizardmon's death at the hands of Myotismon, Gatomon joins Kari and the other DigiDestined in their fight with the Dark Masters and Apocalymon.

Gatomon returned as a main character in the second Digimon season, Digimon Adventure 02, the attack by Ken as the Digimon Emperor resulting with Gatomon losing her tail ring and her power greatly reduced to roughly that of a Rookie level Digimon. In the last episode of the series, Gennai returns the missing Tail Ring to Gatomon. Apparently it was found by the forces of good. Gennai explains that the Ring served as a means to contain the dark energy of the Digimon Emperor's fortress, and not having it enabled her to Armor digivolve and DNA digivolve with Aquilamon to form Silphymon.

Angewomon (エンジェウーモン, Enjewomon)

Gatomon's ultimate form, an Archangel Digimon. Gatomon first assumed the form of Angewomon when the Crest of Light's reaction to Kari's mourning of Wizardmon's death. Her trademark attack is Celestial Arrow, creating an arrow of light that she fires into the enemy. Angewomon, alongside Angemon, played a role in enabling Agumon and Gabumon to warp digivolve into their mega forms. Angewomon was also a powerful ally in the fight against the Dark Masters, the highlight being her cat fight with Piedmon's servant LadyDevimon. By Digimon 02, Kari gave up the power from the Crest of Light and disabled Gatomon's ability to become Angewomon. However, Gatomon managed to resume her form in certain occasions throughout the second series.

Nefertimon (ネフェルティモン, Neferutimon)

A sphinx-like Exalted Beast Digimon that Gatomon becomes when she Armor Digivolves using the Digi-Egg of Light. Her trademark attack is Rosetta Stone, fires a stone tablet that appears out of the pink beam which erupts from her necklace. With Pegasusmon, she can execute Golden Noose, binding enemies with a rope of golden light.

Magnadramon (ホーリードラモン, Hōrīdoramon, Holydramon)

Gatomon's Mega form, a serpentine holy dragon with ten wings, a lion-like muzzle and two horns. Gatomon assumed the form only once in the Digimon Adventure 02 movie The Golden Digimentals, creating the Golden Digi-Eggs with Seraphimon during their fight with Cherubimon. This form was never actually shown in the series.

Ophanimon (オファニモン, Ofanimon)

Gatomon assumes the alternate Mega form in Digimon Tamers: Battle Spirit Ver. 1.5 and Digimon Adventure video games.

According to a YTV interview with the English dub producer, Terri-Lei O'Malley, Salamon was named after her pet cat.

Veemon

Veemon (ブイモン, Buimon, V-Mon) is a small blue dragon-like Digimon similar to Davis in personality. Originally, for most of the series, Veemon regressed to the trainee form of DemiVeemon (チビモン, Chibimon) while in the human world and the baby form of Chibomon (チコモン, Chikomon, Chicomon) if he exerts too much power. Veemon is voiced by Noda Junko (Japan), Jeremy Sumpter (Movie 4) (UK) and Derek Stephen Prince (English).

Flamedramon ((フレイドラモン, Fureidoramon, Fladramon) is a dragonoid Digimon that Veemon armor digivolves to via the DigiEgg of Courage that marked the location of his suspended animation.

Raidramon (ライドラモン, Raidoramon, Lighdramon) is a dragon Digimon that Veemon armor digivolves to via the DigiEgg of Friendship.

Magnamon ((マグナモン, Magunamon) is an exalted knight Digimon that Veemon armor digivolves to via the DigiEgg of Miracles, this form was used twice, once against Chimeramon in the series and again against Cherubimon in the third movie.

ExVeemon (エクスブイモン, Ekusubuimon, XV-mon) is a phantom dragon-type Digimon who is Veemon's naturally digivolved form.

Paildramon (パイルドラモン, Pairudoramon) is a dragonoid type Digimon that is the result of ExVeemon and Stingmon DNA Digivolving. Combining the strengths of a dragon-type and insect-type Digimon, Paildramon's signature move is Desparado Blaster.

Imperialdramon (インペリアルドラモン, Inperiarudoramon): Absorbing Azulongmon's Digicore, Paildramon digivolves into a ancient dragon-type Digimon with the power of 10 nukes. Though the form was originally used to take the DigiDestined across the world to round up renegade Digimon, the appearance of the Daemon Corps enables Imperialdramon to assume his humanoid Fighter Mode with his power intensified. During the events of the fourth movie, Imperialdramon uses the Omni Sword created from Omnimon's data to transform into Imperialdramon Paladin Mode to defeat Armageddemon.

Wormon

Wormmon (ワームモン, Waamumon) is a small green worm-like creature. Like a real insect, Wormmon possesses the ability to adhere to surfaces and is also able to generate silk from his mouth. While Ken was the Digimon Emperor, Wormmon stood by and watch his human partner terrorize the Digital World until he created Chimeramon. Realizing Ken went too far, Wormmon sacrificed himself to give Magnamon the power needed to destroy Chimeramon while snapping Ken out of his madness. Revived as Leafmon (リーフモ, Riifumon), he is reunited with Ken and matures to Minomon (ミノモン) before returning to his usual form. Wormmon is voiced by Naozumi Takahashi (Japan), David Tennant (Movie 4) (UK) and Paul St. Peter (English)

Stingmon (スティングモン, Sutingumon): A green, humanoid insect Digimon whose forearms have spiked blades. He is able to DNA Digivolve with Exveemon to become Paildramon. In the games he also Digivolve into Dinobeemon and GranKuwagamon

Hawkmon

Hawkmon (ホークモン, Hōkumon) is a small bird-like Digimon with red feathers and large yellow feet. Originally, for most of the series, Hawkmon regressed to the trainee form of Poromon ((ポロモン) while in the human world and the baby form of Pururumon (プルルモン) if he exerts too much power. Hawkmon is voiced by Kōichi Tōchika (Japan), Michael Keaton (Movie 4) (UK) and Neil Kaplan (English).

Halsemon (ホルスモン, Holusumon, Horusmon) is a bird-beast Digimon that Hawkmon armor digivolves to via the DigiEgg of Love that marked the location of his suspended animation.

Shurimon ((シュリモン, Shurimon) is a ninja-like mutant Digimon that Hawkmon armor digivolves to via the DigiEgg of Sincerity that was found near Digitamamon's diner.

Aqulliamon (アクィラモン, Akuiramon) is a giant eagle-type Digimon who is Hawkmon's naturally digivolved form.

Silphymon (シルフィーモン, Shirufīmon) is a beastoid type Digimon that is the result of Aquillamon and Gatomon DNA Digivolving. Combining the strengths of a Bird-type and Beast-type Digimon, Silphymon's signature move is Static Force.

Armadillomon

Armadillomon (アルマジモン, Arumajimon, Armadimon) is a small armored armadillo- like Digimon with three-clawed limbs and a short tail. Originally, for most of the series, Armadillomon regressed to the trainee form of Upamon (ウパモン) while in the human world and the baby form of Tsubumon (ツブモン) if he exerts too much power. In the Japanese version, he speaks with a Nagoya dialect and usually ends his sentences with "da'gya!". In the dubbed, this turned into a Southern United States accent. Armadillomon's easy going nature is a sharp contrast to Cody's serious personality. Armadillomon is voiced by Megumi Urawa (Japan), Eric Stuart (Movie 4) (UK) (Tsubumon) & Robert Axelrod (English).

Digmon (ディグモン, Digumon) is an insectoid Digimon that Armadillomon armor digivolves to via the DigiEgg of Knowledge that marked the location of his suspended animation. Digmon's drills not only enable him to borrow, but also to execute his Gold Rush attack.

Submarimon (サブマリモン, Sabumarimon) is a machine Digimon that Armadillomon armor digivolves to via the DigiEgg of Reliabilty that was found on offshore oil platform. Submarimon is one of the few forms Armadillomon assumes that well-equipped for undersea combat in water. Submarimon's head also contains a cockpit that can fit a single human for underwater transport.

Ankylomon (アンキロモン, Ankiromon) is a dinosaur-type Digimon who is Armadillomon's naturally digivolved form.

Shakkoumon (シャッコウモン) is a statue-like mutant Digimon that is the result of Ankylomon and Angemon DNA Digivolving. After asborbing an enemy's attack, Shakkoumon's eyes can emit powerful beams that can devastate those he hits.

Gennai

Young Voiced by: Hiroaki Hirata (Japanese); Jeff Nimoy, Steven Blum (Series Finale) (English)

Old Voiced by: Joji Yanami (Japanese); Mike Reynolds (English)

Jennai (ゲンナイ, Gennai) is a data-based human in the form of an old man who serves as the DigiDestined's guide after their battle with Devimon. It would be revealed, while Kari is possessed, that Gennai was a youth as he and his fellow data-humans were creating the DigiDestined's Digimon to fight against the Dark Masters. However, Piedmon slaughtered his friends as he was forced to escape with the DigiDestineds' Digivices and Digimons' eggs before the one that held Gatomon was lost in the commotion. It would be after Apocalymon's defeat that Gennai resummons the DigiDestined a year later to give up the power of their Crests to free the Digimon Sovereigns.

In the second series, Gennai regains his youthful appearance as he meets his old friend Azulongmon and is entrusted with one of his DigiCores to give to the DigiDestined on Christmas Day. It by then that Gennai reveals that he created clones of himself that act to erase all footage of Digimon in the real world and leave humans in the dark of what they actually saw. Gennai later appears in the series finale, revealing to have possessed Gatomon's Tail Ring the entire time as he explains that was so she can Armor & DNA Digivolve like the others.

Villains

Apocalymon

Voiced by: Chikao Ōtsuka (Japanese); Paul St. Peter (English)

Apocalymon is the primary antagonist of the Digimon Adventure season, debuting in the final episodes (as the final villain) as the one responsible for creating the chaos in the Digital World, creating Devimon, Etemon, Myotismon, and the Dark Masters. He reveals that he was born from the data of Digimon who had died instead of digivolving, and that their sadness and anger fills his very being, causing him to be depressed and somewhat suicidal; this led him to wage war against the joyful Digital World, in order to share his suffering. In the Japanese version he refers to himself as "we", possibly because of his nature of being composed of the many Digimon whose data composes him, and as a reference to the Biblical Legion. After demonstrating his ability to use the techniques of Digimon the DigiDestined defeated, he uses his "Reverse Digivolve" attack to revert all of the DigiDestined's Digimon back into their default forms before then destroying the tags and crests. Apocalymon then uses his power to delete the DigiDestined and their Digimon, sending them to the Data World until they realize that they had the true crest powers within them all along, and they are able to rematerialize in the Digital World with their partners in their strongest forms for the true fight against Apocalymon. After the other Digimon destroy his Death Claws, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon destroy his humanoid form. Though they think they have won, Apocalymon speaks, and explains that those were only minor parts of him. He performs his suicidal ultimate attack, Total Annihilation, in a last-ditch effort to destroy the Digidestined as well as the entire dimensional space, but the DigiDestined are able to use their Digivices to contain the blast, and only Apocalymon is destroyed.

Parrotmon

Defeated by a Greymon four years prior to the events of the series. Evidence that this happened was in Digimon The Movie and some episodes in Digimon Adventure when the Digi-Destined came back to Japan to look for the eighth child. This happened when the Digi-Destined remembered small memories on what had happen four years ago when they were at Highten View Terrace watching a battle with their digimon and another digimon. In the movie Parrotmon was hatched by a giant egg in which seems like it was floating in the sky. It soon hatched into Parrotmon and it seemed like Greymon knew Parrotmon was near and chased after Parrotmon. Both Digimon battled it out and after the battle they both disappeared and nobody knew who really won the battle. All the Digi-Destined in Japan were watching the battle and soon became Digi-Destined about 4 years later.

Devimon

Devimon is the first major villain to face the DigiDestined, and is responsible for enslaving File Island with his Black Gears, hiding the Tags and Crests, and attacking the children directly and indirectly multiple times. Devimon controls the Black Gears, which perform multiple tasks for him. He generally uses free ones that when summoned will fly towards and eventually collide with a Digimon, bending it to his will and increasing its power and size. There are also some that will serve as scrying mirrors to keep watch on the children. Another set of Black Gears are built into giant arrays as the core of File Island itself. When operated, they can cause the pieces of File Island to separate or rejoin Infinity Mountain. Although Devimon has a strong control over the Black Gears, and at one point transforms Ogremon into many of them, he claims to have only found them. Before the events of the series, Devimon took control of File Island after scattering the Crests across the continent of Server and placing the Tags under the Net Ocean. At some point, he found out about a prophecy claiming that the youngest Digidestined would destroy him, and so when the children arrive, he indirectly attacks them with Black Gear infected Digimon, and puts the renowned Leomon and Ogremon under his thrall. When the children reach the mansion at the top of Infinity Mountain, he reveals himself, splits the island, and scatters them across the pieces, as well as sending more corrupted Digimon after them. While the children make their way back, he explains the prophecy to Ogremon and Leomon. Shortly before the island reforms and the children rejoin, he sends a heavily infected Leomon to kill T.K. and Patamon, who are the youngest of the Digidestined. Leomon is so strong that the children's Champion Digimon cannot harm him, but he is defeated when Koushiro shares his discovery that the children's Digivices can purge the corruption. With the children all assembled after heading to Infinity Island, Devimon transforms Ogremon into Black Gears and absorbs nearly all of the Black Gears on File Island into himself, growing significantly larger. He easily defeats all of the Champion Digimon, including Leomon, but as he is about to kill Takeru and Patamon, Patamon digivolves to Angemon and is able to delete him with a suicidal "Hand of Fate". Though Devimon begins deleting, he reveals that even more powerful evil Digimon exist, gloating that his vanquishers will not be able to handle them, as Angemon couldn't even defeat Devimon without sacrificing himself. In Digimon Adventure 02, Devimon briefly reappears while the Digimon Emperor is searching for the piece needed to complete Kimeramon's construction. When the Emperor finds the Dark Whirlpool and goes down into it to find the piece, he finds the broken remains of Devimon. The Digimon Emperor disregards Devimon's taunt-like warning that "the powers of darkness cannot be controlled", and harvests his data for what becomes the arms and Digi-Core of Kimeramon. However, Devimon's influence causes Kimeramon to rebel against the Emperor, and his voice returns to taunt him again until Kimeramon is finally destroyed by Magnamon. His ultimate form MarineDevimon also appears in 02 however it is unclear if this is the same Devimon that the DegiDestined fought. He is defeated by Shakkoumon.

Etemon/MetalEtemon

Etemon

Etemon (エテモン) is an Ultimate level puppet Digimon, and the first main villain that the children run into when they arrive on the continent of Server. Etemon can pinpoint their location via his Dark Network, and has a large army of Digimon working for him. Etemon has the character of an Elvis impersonator, being full of pride with an intolerance for people who fail to acknowledge his over-inflated ego. Etemon considers himself to be a great singer, using it in his signature "Love Serenade" attack which can regress the DigiDestined Digimon. In a fight, Etemon can overpower the children’s Digimon in their Champion forms single-handily. Etemon uses his Dark Network to terrorize the DigiDestined at every turn as they find their Crests, one such scheme resulting in Tai and Agumon becoming fearful of trying to use their Crest's power after the latter assumed the form of SkullGreymon, until the children go into an upside-down pyramid to find Sora’s crest and unwitting freed Datamon, a prisoner of Etemon, who kidnaps Sora and tries to create a clone of her to defeat Etemon. But managing to unknowingly activate his Crest when he musters courage, Tai save Sora as Etemon dukes it out with Datamon. Datamon, in a last-ditch effort, programs the Dark Network to absorb all Digimon in its reach, including himself and Etemon. However, Etemon is instead fused with the Network from the waist down and uses its power to attack the children. However, Greymon digivolves to MetalGreymon and uses his "Giga Blaster" to seemingly defeat Etemon.

However, it actually caused a wormhole to open with Etemon trapped into a time-space limbo. But refusing to accept this fate, Etemon absorbs the Dark Network's energy to return to the Digital World, in the process becoming the Mega-level cyborg Digimon MetalEtemon (メタルエテモン, MetaruEtemon) with his entire body coated in the indestructible alloy Chrome Digizoid. MetalEtemon goes looking for the DigiDestined and finds Mimi, Joe, Palmon, Gomamon, and Ogremon as they were attacked by Puppetmon. After a brief battle between the two villains over who gets to kill them, MetalEtemon tracks Mimi's group to Digitamamon's now-abandoned restaurant where he battles SaberLeomon. When SaberLeomon is fatally wounded while protecting Mimi from MetalEtemon's "Dark Spirits DX", Zudomon manages to make a crack in MetalEtemon's armor with his hammer, which is also made of Chrome Digizoid, and SaberLeomon then lands the deathblow.

Datamon

Datamon was a wild card who was a sworn enemy of Etemon ever since Etemon severely injured Datamon and imprisoned him within his pyramid for years. During this battle, all of Datamon's memories other than those of said battle were deleted, leaving him focused and hell-bent on revenge. However, Datamon managed to rebuild himself over the years and used the DigiDestined to free him by offering the Crest of Love he had on his person. Once this was accomplished, he turned on them and kidnapped Sora and Biyomon with the intent to use their power to destroy Etemon. When Sora refused to help the revenge-driven villain, he was forced to create a clone of her. Although he wanted to destroy Etemon, Datamon was willing to do all the wrong things in order to get there. But when his revenge plan to use Biyomon and the Sora-Clone to kill Etemon failed, Datamon infected the Dark Network with his Plug Bombs, causing the Network to suck in every Digimon in the area and absorb their data and Datamon was no exception. Though Etemon survived this attempt on his life, he was fused with the Dark Network itself.

Myotismon

Voiced by: Ryūzaburō Ōtomo, Toshiyuki Morikawa (02) (Japanese); Richard Epcar (English)

Myotismon (ヴァンデモン, Vandemon, Vamdemon) is one of the DigiDestineds' greatest enemies, an undead Digimon modeled after a vampire with a cruel and sadistic streak in his personality. Among his actions prior to meeting DigiDestined, Myotismon was the one responsible for conditioning Gatomon into a loyal minion. Having DemiDevimon keep the DigiDestined separate, Myotismon was preparing to enter the real world to find and kill the Eight Child. However, the DigiDestined follow him, and from August 1 to August 2, they race against his forces find the child. But once learning of Gatomon's relation to the 8th Child, Myotismon isolated Odaiba from the rest of Tokyo to narrow his search. But once Kari reveals herself, the chain of events occur with Myotismon seemingly killed by Angewomon. However, Myotismon was not truly defeated as a prophecy found by Gennai came true with the evil Digimon resurrecting into the dark beast-type Digimon VenomMyotismon (ヴェノムヴァンデモン, VenomuVandemon, VenomVamdemon). In the end, it took Agumon and Gabumon as WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon and the powers and crests of the DigiDestined Digimon group to destroy his body, but Myotismon's essence survived and he entered a host in Yukio Oikawa after tricking him with the promise of entering the Digital World.

After years of scheming and subconsciously directing Oikawa into creating the ideal event from Control Spires to copying the Dark Spore, Myotismon reveals himself after having Oikawa take himself and the Dark Spore children to the World of Dreams. There Myotismon leaves Oikawa's body while he absorbs the bloomed Dark Flowers to become the Dark Lord-type Digimon MaloMyotismon (ヴェノムヴァンデモン, BeriaruVandemon, BelialVamdemon). After killing off Arukenimon and Mummymon, attempting to place the children in delusions so there would be no interference from them, MaloMyotismon battled the new DigiDestined from the other realm to the Digital World where he eventually loses his physical form as Imperialdramon destroys Myotismon for good.

Yukio Oikawa

Voiced by: Toshiyuki Morikawa (Japanese); Jamieson Price (English)

Yukio Oikawa (及川 悠紀夫, Oikawa Yukio), considered the most tragic character in the series, is one of the few humans to have been aware of the Digimons' existence before the events of 1999. As a child in the 70s, Oikawa was an extremely lonely and had no friends save Hiroki Hida, Cody's father. The two learned of the Digital World though were discouraged by Hiroki's father Chikara. Though forced to part, Oikawa and Hiroki promised each other to reach the Digital World together someday with Oikawa investigating the events at Highton View Terrace. However, Hiroki died years later, feeling utterly betrayed, a distraught Oikawa was on Tokyo Habor August 3, 1999 while watching the DigiDestined depart to the Digital World. In his moment of grief and weakness, Oikawa allowed Myotismon's spirit to possess him in return to enter the Digital World. Having forgotten the encounter, Oikawa was manipulated by Myotismon as obsession with the Digital World grew increasingly unhealthy with knowledge that he uses to create Arukenimon and Mummymon to the Digital World.

Soon after attending the funeral of his boss's son, Sam Ichijouji, Oikawa found the means of entering the Digital World through Ken upon sensing the Dark Spore and masterminded the boy's own descent into madness so can weaken the boundaries between the worlds with the Control Spires. However, the interference of the DigiDestined thwarted Oikawa's plans through both Ken and later the destruction of the Destiny Stones before he decides that weakening the dimensional border from his side may bare more fruit. To that end, Oikawa has Arukenimon bio-emerge Digimon all other the world to keep the DigiDestined at bay while she and Mummymon gather children with promises of bettering their lives. By the time the Daemon Corps go on the attack to get Ken, Oikawa reveals himself as he spirits Ken away to copy the Dark Spore data and transfer it into the children. After this, Oikawa and his group go into hiding so the Dark Spores can take effect, first hiding out in the mountain side before falling back to Oikawa's apartment building. There, Oikawa meets Cody Hida, knowing he is a DigiDestined yet was caught off guard that he is Hiroki's son. Fighting his personal guilt, Oikawa manages to absorb the power of the bloomed Dark Flower of Noriko Kawada, Though Chikara arrived to reason with Oikawa, Myotismon takes control of his body to kill the old man with BlackWarGreymon taking the mortal blow and realizing Oikawa is nothing more than a pawn.

Thought the DigiDestined hoped to take advantage of BlackWarGreymon's sacrifice to catch Oikawa off guard as he gathered all of the children together in Highton View Terrace, Oikawa was subconsciously motivated by Myotismon to take everyone to the World of Dreams under the impression that they are going to the Digital World. Realizing the truth, Oikawa regains his full memory of Myotismon as the evil Digimon leaves his body and renders him unconscious. Coming to as MaloMyotismon is destroyed, Oikawa learns that the evil Digimon took much of his life with him. Though Cody tried to help Oikawa cross over, his body was beyond help and barely able to enter the Digital World to be with his Digimon partner Datrinimon. Knowing that he had little time left to live, Oikawa apologizes for his actions before using the World of Dreams to convert himself into data-based butterflies to repair the damaged Digital World.

Myotismon's Army

DemiDevimon

DemiDevimon (ピコデビモン, Pikodebimon, PicoDevimon) is a spiteful imp Digimon who is constant liar whose great wording skills allow him to fool almost anyone with his sweet-sounding 'Evil Whisper' lies. When forced into fight, DemiDevimon can use his DemiDart syringe to poison his targets (though this was cut from most of its appearances in the English version excluding the episode "Sora's Crest of Love"). When the DigiDestined each went their separate ways to find Tai, Myotismon sent DemiDevimon to keep them from getting back together: he made T.K fight with Tokomon and tried to get Tai and T.K to lose their memories. He made Joe stay in Digitamamon's diner to pay for his meal. Matt tried to help Joe pay his debt but DemiDevimon paid Digitamamon to keep Matt in his custody. He engineered a way to create a series of mishaps that sank Joe even deeper into debt and Matt started losing his patience. DemiDevimon also trapped Izzy and Tentomon in Vademon's domain and had Mimi be pampered and spoiled by the desperate Gekomon and Otamamon. Each time one of the plans failed, DemiDevimon was punished by Myotismon or his bats, which DemiDevimon states to hating bats twice, despite referring to himself as a "bat Digimon". The reunited children found a very emotional Sora, who revealed her part in helping the gang back together. DemiDevimon told her that her Crest of Love would never glow because she never had love in her life. After DemiDevimon failed to kill Sora, Myotismon decided to handle the task of destroying the DigiDestined himself. However, since Sora realized her mother did love her and tried to protect her, her crest began to glow and the newly Digivolved Garudamon got them out of Myotismon's grasp.

DemiDevimon helped in recruiting some Digimon to serve as part of the army that would enter the Real World so they could find and kill the 8th Child and submit the humans to Myotismon's rule. He gained a rival out of Gatomon when it came to the issue of Myotismon's approval and being the favorite. The children learned that Myotismon's passage to the Real World was a gate situated in his castle. The children entered the castle and tried to go through the gate as well but they were halted by Myotismon's minions, DemiDevimon included. The children were later able to use magical cards to open the gate but DemiDevimon and the other minions were flying across Tokyo and its several neighborhoods searching for the 8th Child. They used a copy of the Crest of Light to serve as a means to find him/her. Wizardmon found the eighth Digivice and he tricked DemiDevimon to send him away. On August 3, DemiDevimon helped in capturing children from their parents and submitting them to Gatomon so she would tell Myotismon whether the child was the eighth DigiDestined or not, on the threat of killing every last child in the Odaiba area. But when Kari revealed herself, a big fight started. DemiDevimon snatched Kari's Digivice but was unable to hold on to it when Kari's tears over Wizardmon's death evoked the crest's power. After Myotismon was destroyed, DemiDevimon hid away in the Fuji TV building's ruins. DemiDevimon was excited when Myotismon was resurrected as VenomMyotismon. But VenomMyotismon, no longer needing DemiDevimon, sucked him into his mouth and ate him.

Arukenimon

Voiced by: Wakana Yamazaki (Japanese); Mari Devon (English)

Arukenimon (アルケニモン, Archnemon) is a drider-like Demon-Beast Digimon who is an extremely cunning with great intelligence but has an equally scary temper. Being created by Oikawa with his DNA synthesized into her data, Arukenimon can assume the form of a woman in red and purple spider-themed clothing with large shades concealing her eyes. Overseeing Ken's actions as the Digimon Emperor from behind the scenes, Arukenimon takes over after the boy turns over a new leaf. At first, Arukenimon appeared before the DigiDestined in her human form as she uses his Spirit Needle hair to turn Control Spires into Digimon-like monsters that follow her orders. But in light of Paildramon's debut, Arukenimon lured the children into Giga House and used a flute to control the resident insect Digimon to kill them off for her. But when the scheme failed, she decided to take drastic measures and shifted to her Digimon form. She fought the children and proved to be a formidable foe, but suffers a humiliating defeat before Mummymon saved her.

Bent on revenge for what she endured, Arukenimon created BlackWarGreymon to rid herself of the children. However, due to the one hundred Control Spires giving Black WarGreymon free will, Arukenimon refocuses her plan to destroy the Destiny Stones to throw off the balance of the Digital World. When BlackWarGreymon is motivated to destroy them, Arukenimon decided to hold off the DigiDestined to keep them from interfering. However, with divine intervention from the Digimon Sovereign Azulongmon, Arukenimon's plans are foiled.

Following this, Arukenimon and Mummymon turned to Oikawa as he instructed Arukenimon to open the Digital Gates in the entire world. During Christmas Day, as the DigiDestined traveled around the world and helped their foreign DigiDestined allies close the gates, Arukenimon and Mummymon drove around Tokyo in a truck and kidnapped twenty children. The following day, they kidnapped Ken as well, so that Oikawa could scan his Dark Spore and pass it on to the children. After this, Oikawa, Arukenimon and Mummymon ran off to hide in a vacation house in the mountains, but BlackWarGreymon came from the Digital World to destroy them. As BlackWarGreymon asked Arukenimon and Mummymon where they came from, Oikawa revealed their origins. While the revelation clearly shocked and troubled Arukenimon and Mummymon, Arukenimon preferred not to discuss it and focus her efforts on tracking the seeded children and protecting Oikawa as they hid back in his run-down apartment in Tokyo. In the end, Arukenimon was tortured and killed by MaloMyotismon in the world of dreams as an excuse to test his newfound power on her.

Mummymon

Voiced by: Toshiyuki Morikawa (Japanese); Kirk Thornton (English)

Mummymon (マミーモン, Mumīmon) is an undead Digimon who is armed with the Obelisk rifle that he uses in his "Necrophobia" attack along with using his wrappings to constrict an opponent in his "Snake Bandage" attack. Being created by Oikawa with his DNA synthesized into him, Mummymon dons a royal blue coat and an odd hat with randomly scattered golden buttons and wielding a cane. However, unlike Arukenimon's human form, Mummymon is hardly human and is more of a concealment than an actual transformation.

Mummymon first appeared to the aid of Arukenimon after she was beaten by the DigiDestined at the Giga House. Following this, he began working together with her to destroy the balance of the Digital World. Mummymon was in love with Arukenimon, and tended to flirt with her instead of focusing on their mission, but Arukenimon always rejected him in her arrogance. Mummymon never took the rejection to heart, however, and remained optimistic and cheerful. Still, because of his loyalty to Arukenimon and general skill, he remained a formidable foe to the DigiDestined over the course of the series. Learning of his origins as a Digimon/human hybrid, the revelation shocked and troubled Mummymon as he attempted to discuss it with Arukenimon who refused to get into it. In the end, when Arukenimon is killed to his horror, an enraged Mummymon attacked MaloMyotismon before the fiend proceeded to liquify Mummymon using his Crimson Mist attack.

Dark Masters

The Dark Masters is a group that consists of four powerful Mega-Level Digimon. They are MetalSeadramon, Puppetmon, Machinedramon, and Piedmon. They are the fourth major villains in the first season of the series. They had turned the entire Digital World into Spiral Mountain, where each of the Dark Masters rule one section of it. The arrogant MetalSeadramon (Played by in Japanese :Yuuto Kazama, in English: Doug Erholtz) ruled over the digital oceans, Puppetmon, a pschyopath with a child's personality (Played by in Japanese Etsuko Kozakura, in English David Lodge) ruled over the digital forests, the Machinedramon, (played by in Japanese Hisao Egawa, in English Dave Guerrie) ruled over the digital cities and Piedmon (played by in Japanese Chikao Ōtsuka, in English Derek Stephen Prince), ruled over the others from the top of Spiral Mountain.

Dark Masters' Army

Scorpiomon

Scorpiomon is gigantic sea scorpion-like Digimon that burrows in the sand and works for MetalSeadramon. He was the first henchmen of the Dark Masters to attack the Digidestined first. After being trapped inside a beach hut by Metalseadramon, the Digidestined were knocked unconscious by Scorpiomon shoveling tons of sand into the hut. Scorpiomon was rewarded with clams to eat by MetalSeadramon and was then just as quickly punished by him for missing Mimi and Joe who managed to escape. Scorpiomon tried to capture them but was defeated by Zudomon and Lilymon, he was then stuffed back into the beach hut after the other children were rescued. MetalSeadramon set the hut on fire thinking the kids were still in it, but when Scorpiomon came running out on fire, MetalSeadramon picked him up and dropped him to his death as punishment for his failures.

Divermon

Deepsea minions who works for MetalSeadramon. Repeatedly attacked the children until Ikkakumon digivolved to Zudomon and destroyed them.

Blossomon and Mushroomon

Two egg head sons of Puppetmon's 'playmates', they get killed by Puppetmon when he assumed they were lying to him while he was looking for Takeru in his deadly hide and seek game. The scene is edited in the US version.

Blossomon is voiced in the dub by Melodee Spevack.

Deramon and Floramon

Two of Puppetmon's 'playmates', actually helped the Digidestined against Puppetmon before they ran off in fear of what he would do to them.

Deramon is voiced in the dub by Doug Erholtz.

Cherrymon

Cherrymon worked for Puppetmon. Living as long as he had, Cherrymon seemed to know every inch of "his" forest and pointed Yamato to a pond that would reflect the face of his greatest rival and could tell that the plan could still go wrong, knowing that the DigiDestined had something Puppetmon didn't. Cherrymon then informed Puppetmon from his plan but when he told his master that he must be careful, Puppetmon took it as an insult and destroyed him out of anger, minutes before WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon clashed. Later when MetalGarurmon mortally wounds Puppetmon he asks Cherrymon what it is that the DigiDestined have that he doesn't (something that was also mentioned by Piximon) and his voice responded "friends" before Puppetmon was destroyed.

WaruMonzaemon

Machinedramon had a WaruMonzaemon as his slave master to use the Numemon to power his city on Spiral Mountain. When a group of the DigiDestined appeared in his area, he was lured away by Sora and Takeru while Hikari freed the Numemon. He was then attacked by the Numemon and although he easily defeated them he was weakened by the combined attacks of Angemon, Angewomon and Birdramon who rescued the enslaved Numemon. When Machinedramon heard his news about the DigiDestined, he was angry at WaruMonzaemon for not telling him sooner. Before he went to hunt them down, he killed WaruMonzaemon by activing the room's self-destruct. In is edited in the dub to focus on the Digimon's disembodied paw.

LadyDevimon

LadyDevimon was one of Piedmon's most loyal minions. As Taichi and his group approached Piedmon's observatory base, LadyDevimon asked if she could be allowed to "punish them". LadyDevimon is Piedmon's personal bodyguard, and an extremely dangerous digimon at the ultimate level. Piedmon agreed and she flew off to battle them at once. The DigiDestineds' Digimon took her on with help from Andromon but Taichi decided to have Sora and Takeru leave the battle to get Yamato and the others while Angewomon battled LadyDevimon, which quickly became a bitter catfight between the two enemies. With help from MegaKabuterimon, she obliterated Lady Devimon with her Heaven's Charm attack.

Vilemon

After being knocked out of his castle by MagnaAngemon, Piedmon summoned a bunch of Vilemon to attack the DigiDestined. Most of them were destroyed by the DigiDestined's Digimon and their allies. The remainder of Piedmon's Vilemon army were sucked into MagnaAngemon's Gate of Destiny attack.

Kimeramon

Kimeramon (キメラモン, Chimairamon) is a Composition Digimon created by Ken while as the Digimon Emperor to be his ideal Digimon partner to help him take over the Digital World, and he is seen working on it over a period of time. By that time, Ken synthesized various Digimon data to combine the best attributes into his creation—Kabuterimon's helmet, MetalGreymon's hair, Greymon's torso, Angemon and Airdramon's wings, Kuwagamon's left arm, SkullGreymon's right arm, Garurumon's legs, and Monochromon's tail. After acquiring the data remains of Devimon, manifesting in its upper arms, Ken completes Kimeramon. Though it was too powerful for the armored Digimon to fight, Devimon's data intensified Kimeramon's terrifying combat instinct and made it beyond Ken's control as it starts to runs amok while destroying everything in its path. Worried for Ken, Wormmon takes Davis to the power source of the base, the Digi-Egg of Miracles. Using it, Veemon becomes Magnamon. Although Magnamon puts up more of a fight, Kimeramon eventually overpowers him, and he is only able to destroy Kimeramon using the energy sacrificed by Wormmon.

Daemon

This section refers to the Daemon featured in Digimon Adventure 02. A Daemon also appears in Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 and as one of the Seven Great Demon Lords.

In Digimon Adventure 02, Daemon is the leader of Daemon Corps. He first made himself known to the DigiDestined after his minion SkullSatamon was destroyed by Imperialdramon Fighter Mode. He demanded that Ken come with him so he could obtain the Dark Spore's power (presumably, for his own ends). Arukenimon however appeared with a truckload of 'kidnapped' children and convinced Ken to come with her. Daemon refused to let Yukio Oikawa get away with and sicked his other two minions, LadyDevimon and MarineDevimon, after him. But after his remaining minions were destroyed by Silphymon and Shakkoumon, respectively, Daemon took matters into his own hands and stopped the truck, demanding Ken be handed over or else. But Daemon had to deal with the entire 02 team and the battle with the villain commenced. Despite everything they could throw at him, Daemon was too powerful to defeat. They decided to open a gate to the Digital World to send Daemon back there, but even while holding off their attacks, Daemon opens a gateway himself, telling them that banishing him to the Digital World would be pointless, as he can simply come right back (he also mocked them while he was at, saying "How did you think I was able to come in the first place?"). Ken was forced to use the dark power within him to convert a Digi-Port into a gateway to the Dark Ocean, through which Daemon was cast. Impressed at Ken's power, Daemon did nothing but laugh and vowed to return as the portal closed around him.

Diaboromon

Introduced in the second movie Our War Game, he suddenly appeared on the internet as a digi-egg, and after hatching, started attacking the internet. (In the dub, they say that he was created by Willis, but turned evil because of a data-virus. This is not mentioned in the Japanese version.) . Taichi and Koushiro, along with Agumon and Tentomon confront him first as his Rookie form, Keramon. During the battle, Keramon digivolves past his Champion form and into his Ultimate form, Infermon. Agumon and Tentomon then digivolve to Greymon and Kabuterimon, but are quickly defeated. Shortly after Yamato and Takeru join the fight, Infermon digivolves into Diaboromon. He hacks into an American military-base and launches a nuclear missile, before making thousands of clones of himself, and challenges the children into finding the one clone who has a clock. Destroying this one would stop the missile. (In the dub, they had to destroy the real Diaboromon, which would cause all the clones to disappear and the missile to stop.) He confronts WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, and due to the large amounts of emails sent to Koushiro, the processing speed causes their Digimon to slow down, allowing him to defeat them. After Taichi and Yamamto enter the internet, their Digimon then DNA Digivolve into Omnimon and quickly defeat the Diaboromon copies. After Koushiro forwards the emails to Diaboromon to slow down his processing speed, he is killed by Omnimon. Diaboromon would appear one more time in Diaboromon Strikes Back, this time confronting the DigiDestined of Season Two. Diaboromon Digivolves into Kuramon, Tsumemon, Kurisarimon, Infermon, and Armageddemon.

• Susumu & Yuuko Yagami: Taichi and Hikari's mother and father. The English dub tends to poke fun at the odd and unpleasant recipes Mrs. Yagami comes up with, such as beef jerky shakes and fungus cookies. Koushiro seems to be the victim for her recipes.

• Hiroaki Ishida & Natsuko Takaishi / Nancy Takaishi: Yamato & Takeru's divorced parents. Hiroaki works as a reporter at Fuji TV and tends to be a workacholic but has a nice demeanor. He finds out about his sons' connection to the Digimon during Myotismon's attack on the city. In Adventure 02 he takes the kids camping as a cover for staying in the Digital World. Nancy is a newspaper reporter. She met with Oikawa over Christmas, and later managed to track down the names and addresses of the Dark Seed children. Nancy's father, Michel, who lives in Paris joins force with Takeru and Taichi to destroy the Black Spires in Digimon Adventure 2. He drives a motorcycle, is a true Frenchman, and mentions that Nancy's grandmother is a rather eccentric women due to the description of her antics.

• Haruhiko & Toshiko Takenouchi: Sora's parents. Toshiko, Sora's mother, banned her from playing soccer once when she came home with an injury. This caused a distance between them, though that was resolved later in the first season. Haruhiko is a college professor who is researching on the Digital World with Shuu, Jou's middle brother, who is one of his students. Yolei meets both of them during her class trip to Kyoto, and he explains some of his theories to her.

• Keisuke & Satoe Tachikawa: Mimi's parents. They spoiled her a bit and were overprotective of her. They also act like a newlywed couple.

In the English dub of the series, Shin and his brother Shuu are fused together into Jim, appearing as Joe's only brother.

• Shuu Kido - Joe's other older brother, the middle child. He meets Yolei when she is visiting Kyoto with her class. He also drove them to where they needed to be when Digimon was attacking. Michi e no Armor Shinka sees him and Jun Motomiya triple dating with his brothers and Miyako's sisters. In the English dub, Shuu and Shin became one character, Joe's only brother Jim.

• Masami & Kae Izumi: Koushiro's adoptive parents. Masami was a distant cousin Koushiro's true father and after the death of Koushiro's true parents in a car accident the Izumis adopted Koushiro, having recently lost a son of their own. They never told Koushiro directly that he was adopted, but he overheard it himself, which troubled him for a while. The tension between Koushiro and his parents are resolved when they tell him directly that they are not his birth parents prior to the fight against VenomMyotismon.

• Jun Motomiya: Daisuke' older sister. She and Daisuke argue repeatedly but are still close. She also chases after Yamato through most of the early second season, trying to get a date with him. After she finally realizes that he did not like her, she quickly formed another crush on Shuu Kido (In Michi E No Armor Shinka; the pair on a triple date with Jyou and Misako's older sisters). In Digimon Original Stories CD2 reveals that Jun gets her own Digimon after "Million Points of Light" episode.

• Momoe, Chizuru, Mantarou: Miyako's siblings, two sisters and brother. Because there are four of them in one family, they have to fight for attention. In Michi E No Armor Shinka; Momoe and Chizuru, along with Jun Motomiya, go on a triple date with the Kido boys. Digimon Original Stories CD2 reveals that Chizuru and Momoe get their own Digimon after "Million Points of Light" episode.

Momoe is voiced in the dub by Dina Sherman. Chizuru is voiced in the dub by Elizabeth Rice. Mantarou is voiced in the dub by Jonathan Fahn and later voiced by Tom Fahn.

• Hiroki Hida: Iori's deceased father. He was a police officer who died in the line of duty protecting a politician from an assassination attempt.

• Chikara Hida: Iori's grandfather, he serves as a father figure in Hiroki's absence. He also teaches Iori kendo. He has a strange obsession with Prune juice (in the English dub, he also enjoys drinking liquid yogurt drinks).

• Osamu Ichijouji: Ken's deceased older brother, Osamu was an A+ student and got most of the attention. On the day he returned from the Digital World, making Osamu mad by touching the Digivice they found, Ken wished he would go away because he was jealous. Ken was horrified to discover that on that same day Osamu was hit by a car and died, baring the guilt as the Dark Spore in Ken emulated him to become more like his brother. As a result, Ken became a genius student while his Digimon Emperor attire was modeled after his subconscious desire to be like Osamu.

Wallace and Terriermon

Willis, known as Wallace (ウォレス, Uoresu) in the Japanese version, appears in the film Digimon Hurricane Touchdown/Supreme Evolution! The Golden Digimentals, as well as in the CD drama, Natsu e no Tobira. In addition, he makes cameo appearances in two video games; Digimon Adventure 02: D1 Tamers, as an entrant in the game's starting tournament, as well as an unlockable character in Digimon Battle Spirit, paired with Lopmon due to Henry being paired with Terriermon. Willis is portrayed as a flirtatious and somewhat sarcastic boy who learned to speak Japanese from a past girlfriend. Despite his attitude, he has a very kind heart wishing to spare others from his hardships. He is voiced by Nami Miyahara in the original movie and CD, and by Bob Glouberman in the English dub of the movie, which featured as the third part of the English Digimon: The Movie. He is a DigiDestined from New York City, United States, but lived in Denver during his childhood.

Andromon

This section refers to the Andromon featured in Digimon Adventure/02. For the Andromon in Digimon Tamers, see Guardromon.

Andromon was the first Ultimate level Digimon to appear in Adventure 01. The DigiDestined first meet Andromon when they are exploring a factory. Their initial hope was that the factory had human life, but they discover that everything is completely automated and run by machines. Taichi, Sora, and Jou hear a crash; when they investigate the sound, they see Andromon sprawled out, lifeless, under some machine equipment. They try pulling him out, but a black gear becomes embedded into Andromon’s bad leg, causing him to become obsessed with vengeance and attack the kids. Meanwhile, while in the factory, Koushiro taps into a program that activates his Digivice, but at the same time seems to affect Tentomon, causing him to become abnormally hot. Garurumon and Greymon make an attempt to fight Andromon, but are severely outmatched, as he is an Ultimate level Digimon. Tentomon suggests that Koushiro reenter the program; when he does, Tentomon digivolves into Kabuterimon and disables the black gear in Andromon’s leg. It turned out Andromon was actually a very helpful and kind Digimon who would never intentionally hurt anyone. When the Dark Masters took control over the Digital World, Andromon fought against Machinedramon. He was the first good Digimon to find the DigiDestined after Machinedramon sent them underground. Andromon said he was trying to round up a resistance against Machinedramon. When Machinedramon broke through and found the DigiDestined, Andromon fought him to give the kids some time to escape. Agumon was able to digivolve into WarGreymon, who then defeated the Dark Master. Andromon later helped the DigiDestined fight against Piedmon, but like most of them, he was turned into a key chain. After he was revived by MagnaAngemon, he helped the rest of the DigiDestined fight Piedmon and his Vilemon army. Andromon made a reappearance as a slave of the Digimon Emperor, controlled by a Dark Ring. With Hikari stranded at Full Metal City, the Digimon Emperor decided to send Andromon. It seemed the Digidestined were outmatched by the powerful Andromon. It took Hikari's tears to bring Andromon back and make him remember his previous friendship with Hikari and the other Digidestined. After realizing who she was, he broke the Dark Ring from his neck and destroyed the Control Spire, freeing the Guardromon in the city. Andromon's ability to fight the Dark Ring was the first evidence that the Dark Rings could not successfully control Ultimate-level Digimon.

Leomon/BlackLeomon/SaberLeomon

This section refers to the Leomon featured in Digimon Adventure. For the Leomon in Digimon Tamers, see Leomon.

Leomon was one of the first good Digimon that the DigiDestined met on File Island - but not under better conditions. Devimon had infected Leomon with a Black Gear, having Leomon attack the DigiDestined against his will. He was briefly freed from Devimon's control to save Tai and Agumon by fighting Devimon. However, he was infected with another Black Gear and was under Devimon's control once more. When ordered to kill TK and Patamon, he was infused with an additional seven black gears, which changed him into BlackLeomon (although this name was not mentioned in the show), causing his size and power to increase so greatly he displayed power similar to that of an ultimate level digimon, and his colour tone darkened also, subsequently giving him the ability to incacipate the obstructive Garurumon and Greymon with his Fist of the Beast King attack. When he was freed by the children, he aided them in the final battle with Devimon. He also aided in the building of a raft that the kids needed to get to the continent of Server. While the DigiDestined tried to save their world from Myotismon, the Dark Masters took over the Digital World. Leomon was among those who tried to fight back. After being exposed to the power of the DigiDestined's Digivices a few times when he was under the control of Devimon, he had inherited the ability to Digivolve to his Mega form, SaberLeomon. He rescued Mimi Tachikawa, Palmon, Joe, Gomamon and Ogremon from being found by MetalEtemon and took them to where Digitamamon's diner was. When MetalEtemon attacked, Leomon Digivolved to SaberLeomon to fight him. He threw himself in front of an attack heading toward Mimi, being mortally injured in the process. Gomamon Digivolved immediately to Zudomon and attacked with his hammer sparks but could not hurt MetalEtemon since his body was coated with Chrome Digizoid. However, when Zudomon then threw his hammer at him, it cracked his body because the hammer was also made by Chrome Digizoid. With his remaining strength, SaberLeomon punched his claw into the cracked wound, defeating MetalEtemon and reverting to Leomon. As he died, Leomon made his peace with his arch-rival, Ogremon. With the Black Gear destroyed his tama was seen consolidating into an egg, and he was presumably revived after the defeat of Apocalymon.

Ogremon

Ogremon (オーガモン, Ōgamon) is an Oni-themed Digimon who is Devimon's only willing minion, under the promise to kill Leomon once Devimon no longer needed him. But prior to the final battle, Devimon grabbed Ogremon by the throat and transformed him into a mass of Black Gears that he assimilated, along with all the other Black Gears on File Island, into his body so he could have the power to destroy the DigiDestined. Ogremon, now a part of Devimon's body, assisted Devimon during the battle by fending off Leomon but was dislodged from Devimon by Angemon. Upon Devimon's destruction at the hands of Angemon, Ogremon escaped. He was eventually forced to battle the forces of the Dark Masters. As it turned out, Ogremon was never actually evil, he only wanted to fight Leomon and no one else. After getting injured by the meteor containing MetalEtemon, Ogremon allied with the two DigiDestined Mimi and Joe after their split with the other DigiDestined. After Leomon's death, Ogremon decided to help the kids in any way he could for his rival's sake. Following the defeat of the Dark Masters and Apocalymon, Ogremon left to be on his own once more to await the day that he and Leomon could resume their rivalry. Ogremon would later be referenced in the first episode of Digimon Adventure 02, when T.K. and Kari commented that their teacher looked like him (English dub only). He would also appear in the epilogue of the final episode, where Joe was teaching his son how to treat Digimon by using Ogremon as an example (referencing his treating of Ogremon for his injury in Digimon Adventure).

Sukamon and Chuumon

Sukamon (スカモン) is a Champion level mutant Digimon that resembles fecal matter ("lemon custard" in the English version) who has the rodent-like rookie beast Digimon Chuumon (チューモン, Tyumon) by his side. The two first appeared while Mimi Tachikawa and Palmon were separated from the others, harassing them until they were untentionally purified. Afterwards, they told her where Izzy and Tentomon landed. Later on Chuumon and Sukamon were a part of Myotismon's army which was trained by Nanimon until they quickly left due to his harsh methods. On the day Spiral Mountain was formed, Sukamon fell into a deep crack to his death with Chuumon left fending for himself until the DigiDestined arrived. He sacrificed himself to protect Mimi from a knife thrown by Piedmon when he selected her to die first. When the Dark Masters and Apocalymon were defeated, both Digimon were reborn. Three years later, the same Sukamon and Chuumon tried to get Mimi to go out with them after Shurimon broke Digitamamon free of the Dark Spiral. Mimi responded by punching them across the lake. In the Digimon Spirit Battle 1.5 game, Sukamon can Digivolve into Etemon.

Whamon

The DigiDestined first encountered Whamon when they were on their way to the Continent of Server, though it was not in better condition. Whamon was infected with a Black Gear and he swallowed them. When they came to rest in his stomach, they discovered a Black Gear embedded inside him. Taichi used his Digivice to destroy it, freeing Whamon from its influence. He shot them out his blowhole, but their raft was shattered in the process. To make it up to them, he would take them to Server. When they asked if he knew anything about the Tags, he mentioned that he had seen Devimon hide something underwater once, some time ago. The kids climbed inside him, and he took them to an underwater cavern, where they found their Tags after freeing Drimogemon from the Black Gear. He then carried them the rest of the way to Server. The DigiDestined who later meet Whamon again when they were cornered by the Dark Master MetalSeadramon. Whamon arrived just in time to save them, carrying them off to the depths of the Net Ocean. After evading the Divermon, Whamon then brought the DigiDestined to the surface, but there were immediately attacked again by MetalSeadramon. Whamon used his Tidal Wave attack to wash away the straggling Divermon, and then, when WarGreymon was caught between MetalSeadramon's jaws, saved him by head butting the villain. Enraged, MetalSeadramon fired his River of Power attack at Whamon, ripping a hole through his skull and fatally injuring him. As Whamon slowly died, he implored the DigiDestined to save the world. Whamon would later make a return appearance in Digimon Adventure 02, saving most of the new DigiDestined from being trapped in an offshore oil rig which was being attacked by a MegaSeadramon under the influence of the Digimon Emperor. This proves to be one of the cases in which a Digimon retains its memories despite being destroyed. In the original Japanese version, this Whamon actually helped to save the trapped DigiDestined while Ikkakumon battled MegaSeadramon.

Piximon

The DigiDestined first encountered Piximon when he used his Pixi Bomb attack to defeat Kuwagamon. Disgusted on how the DigiDestined Digimon did not fight him, he decided to train the group in his hidden jungle lair in the desert under a magical veil that Etemon did not know of. He had Taichi and Agumon try to find their way back out of a cave and had the others clean his floors. When Yamato and Koushiro sneaked out of the tower to find their crests, they found them in a well outside of Piximon's jungle. However, Etemon detected them and sent a Tyrannomon after them. When Tyrannomon invaded, Piximon put up his barrier to protect him and the DigiDestined from Tyrannomon's attack until Taichi returned with Greymon who defeated Tyrannomon. Piximon was about to attack Tyrannomon himself, a battle that he would easily win, but he was trying to buy time for Taichi and Greymon. Piximon knew that the DigiDestined would save the Digital World. Later on, Piximon returned to save the DigiDestined from the Dark Masters. He sacrificed himself so that the DigiDestined could get to Spiral Mountain. He was also the first one to mention that the DigiDestined had something that the Dark Masters didn't that made them stronger (this was later revealed by what can be assumed to be Cherrymon's spirit to a dying Puppetmon as the fact that they had friends). In the Japanese version, Piximon spoke in a quick falsetto voice and always ended his sentences with 'pi'.

Digitamamon

Digitamamon was first seen running a diner with Vegiemon who made Joe and Gomamon work off their bills, due to the fact Digitamamon accepts only USD instead of the Japanese yen that Joe had on him. Matt arrives to help Joe work off his bill and to ensure the safety of Joe when Digitamamon made a threat about "accidents" after DemiDevimon paid him in dollars to keep Matt at his diner. DemiDevimon told Matt that Joe was deliberately causing accidents so Yamato would stay there forever. Yamato eventually blew up and yelled at Jou. However, when Tai, Agumon, TK and Patamon found them, Yamato decides to leave. Digitamamon, knowing he'll lose money, grew large and attacked. Veggiemon grabbed TK and held him by his ankle; Joe daringly jumps on Veggiemon, which freed TK and proved his reliability. Matt was stunned at how Joe tried to protect TK even after he yelled at him. Matt's thought of friendship allowed Garurumon to Digivolve to WereGarurumon and defeat Digitamamon.

In Digimon Adventure 02, Digitamamon runs a restaurant near the lake and the bill caused trouble for Yolei. When she tried to pay, Digitamamon said that he only accepted digi dollars. However, Mimi and Palmon appear with Michael and Betamon, who paid the bill for the gang. TK realized this was the same Digitamamon that forced Joe and Matt work in his restaurant. However, Digitamamon explains that's he a changed person since the ordeal and is now on the level. He even waives the bill, saying that it is on him. Everyone, except a still-annoyed Yolei, believed he was telling the truth. When a Gorillamon under the control of the Dark Spiral attacked, Digitamamon threw himself in front of the DigiDestined and was sent flying. After Gorillamon was freed, Digitamamon rolled back. But this time, he had an unseen Dark Spiral in his shell and it regressed him to his evil self. When Halsemon, Flamedramon and Digmon's attacks couldn't get through his shell, Mimi tried to convince Digitamamon that he wasn't evil, but Digitamamon tackled her. That made Yolei angry and her talk of her trying to be sincere activated the Digi-Egg of Sincerity. Halsemon De-Digivolved to Hawkmon and became Shurimon. Shurimon used the shuriken on his back to keep Digitamamon's shell open as Pegasusmon and Nefertimon trapped him. Shurimon used his Double Star attack and destroyed the Dark Spiral, freeing Digitamamon from its influence. A later episode would find the DigiDestined encountering him as the chef of yet another restaurant, with a Tapirmon serving as a waiter. The two of them attempted to assist the DigiDestined with stopping BlackWarGreymon from destroying the last Destiny Stone (which was revealed to be the reason Digitamamon's soup tasted so good) by attacking Arukenimon and Mummymon, only to get wrapped up in bandages for their troubles.

The first ShogunGekomon seen was in a castle where his Otamamon and Gekomon servants worked, here being called simply "Shogunmon" by his subjects. A long time ago he lost a Karaoke contest and thus fell into a deep sleep out of sorrow. The Gekomon and Otamamon were told by DemiDevimon that Mimi was the one to wake their master by singing. However, Mimi took advantage of this to live the sweet life. When Mimi finally wakes up ShogunGekomon, he started to attack everyone and everything in a grumpy rage. Palmon digivolved to Togemon to save Mimi from being flattened from the falling ceiling and MetalGreymon used his Giga Blaster attack to knock Shougun Gekomon unconscious again. Later, when the Dark Masters attacked and kill their lord, a bunch of Gekomon and Otamamon from the castle assisted the DigiDestined's in the final battle against Piedmon and Vilemon. Three years later (in Digimon Adventure 02) in the Night Forest, a small group of same Gekomon and Otamamon that were friends with Mimi ended up under the control of the Digimon Emperor's Dark Rings and were freed when Togemon and Halsemon took down the Roachmon Brothers and the Control Spire. Later, in a village under the control of the Dark Rings, the members of ShogunGekomon's group were found hiding underground and offered hospitality to the DigiDestined. A Ninjamon slipped a Dark Spiral on ShogunGekomon while he and the DigiDestined were sleeping (as his solution to the Digimon Emperor taking over his territory was going to sleep and his love of sleeping was a running gag at this point), he went on a rampage. Pegasusmon and Nefertimon tricked him into attacking the Control Spire and he was knocked unconscious by Raidramon and Digmon. Raindramon, Shurimon, Pegasusmon and Nefertimon destroyed the Dark Spiral. The most prominent Gekomon, the unofficial leader of the other Gekomon and Otamamon, has a lisp that slurs his words and lengthens the S of his words.

Gotsumon and Pumpkinmon

The first Gotsumon and Pumpkinmon the DigiDestined encountered were supposedly minions of Myotismon, although they would rather have had it be otherwise. Dispatched to search for the Eighth Child, Gotsumon and Pumpkinmon ended up in Shibuya, where they became enthralled by the culture and populace of Earth and immediately set about exploring, having fun and generally causing trouble. It was only when they pulled a teenage girl's nose ring that they encountered Matt, TK and Gabumon as they were searching for Patamon (due to an argument he and Takeru had earlier). After explaining that they just wanted to have fun, the two carried on their mischief, with Matt and TK trying to get them out of trouble. But after the two stole some ice cream, Myotismon appeared and was angered to find the two slacking off. He ordered them to attack the brothers and Gabumon, and they had no choice but to comply. As soon as they got far enough away from Myotismon, however, they simply quit as they did not want to hurt the DigiDestined. Enraged to find the two being friendly with his enemies, Myotismon attacked them. They tried to fight back but they were no match for his power and were killed off by his Grisly Wing attack (in the English dub, they were condemned to his dungeon in the Digital World).

Wizardmon

Wizardmon was actually a loner who traveled all over the Digimon World. On one of his journeys however, he nearly collapsed out of exhaustion. Gatomon took pity on him and saved his life. Later in his life, he passed himself off as one of the mercenaries that Myotismon recruited for his search for the Eighth Child. But in reality, Wizardmon's loyalties were to Gatomon, whom he believed to be the partner of the Eighth Child and wanted to unite them as his way of repaying her. After uniting the Eighth Child, Kari, and Gatomon as partners, Wizardmon and Gatomon broke into Myotismon’s Fortress to steal the Crest of Light (by hitting the guard Bakemon with a Thunder Ball giving Bakemon amnesia). However Myotismon discovered their plan, and fought Wizardmon one-on-one over Odaiba Bay. Despite Wizardmon’s skill in magic, he was beaten when Myotismon destroyed his wand and tossed him into the sea. Since Wizardmon could not swim, it seemed as though he drowned. However, he was saved by Zudomon, Patamon, Joe, and Takeru and told them that he had the Crest of Light in his possession. After Wizardmon and the DigiDestined assembled at the Fuji TV Station, he revealed himself as an ally and healed Lillymon. Wizardmon and the children then prepared for an all-out assault against Myotismon. During the fight with Myotismon, it became evident that he was nearly impervious to all the attacks thrown at him. However, Wizardmon, though highly weakened from fatigue and damage from the last battle, and missing his main weapon, was the first to harm the vampire Digimon, by hitting him from behind while Myotismon gloated in his arrogance. Myotismon turned around, surprised and enraged to find that he failed to kill Wizardmon the first time. Wizardmon tossed the Crest of Light to Kari, but Myotismon blasted Wizardmon straight into a solid wall and assumed he finally killed the wizard and a fierce battle ensued. After Angemon came to the battle, Myotismon decided to finish it once and for all and, pouring all his power into one attack, threw the deadly Grisly Wing at Kari and Gatomon. Yet somehow, Wizardmon managed to stand in front of the attack a mere second before it could hit, mortally wounded in the process, and sacrifice his life for them. As he lay dying, Gatomon said she was sorry for getting him involved. However, he told her not to be sorry, as he had no regrets and that she was all that mattered, and had he not met her, his life would have had no meaning and he was glad that they were friends; Gatomon says they're friends forever. His death was quickly avenged when Gatomon Digivolved to Angewomon.

Three years later (in Digimon Adventure 02), on the day of his death, Wizardmon's data resurfaced and his "ghost" began to cause activity at the Fuji TV station – his image appeared on screens all across the building and his voice would play from audiotapes. The DigiDestined came to the television station to remember Wizardmon’s sacrifice; the spirit manifested itself when Gatomon recognized him. Wizardmon gave the DigiDestined a cryptic warning, relating to the fight to occur after. Before he left, Gatomon called out to him, and the two of them reached forward to touch hands, but because he was a ghost, her paw went right through his hand. He pulled back, looking at his hands with a sigh, and apologized as he faded way. Every other Digimon who died in the Human World however appeared to have had their Data sent back to the Digimon World (this is confirmed because while Pumpkinmon, Gotsumon, and all the other mercenaries Myotismon had were destroyed in the Human World, their Data obviously did not linger in the Human world as Wizardmon’s did without a human host).

BlackWarGreymon

Voiced by: Nobuyuki Hiyama (Japanese); Steven Blum (English)

An artificial dragonoid Digimon in WarGreymon's image, BlackWarGreymon was created by Arukenimon from a hundred Control Spires to destroy the DigiDestined once and for all after the humiliation she was dealt at Giga House. Able to easily defeat Paildramon without even trying, BlackWarGreymon refused to obey Arukenimon and simply flew away. It would turn out that, due to the number of Spires used in his creation, BlackWarGreymon had developed a conscious mind, separating him from his 'mindless' siblings. But it also made BlackWarGreymon confused about his purpose in life, with many questions that needed answers.

He would encounter Agumon, who tried to help him. But in the middle of the talk, BlackWarGreymon felt a pain in him and left to find the source, destroying the first Destiny Stone as a result. After seeing Azulongmon when he destroyed his third stone, BlackWarGreymon made it his mission to destroy all the Destiny Stones in order to find and face Azulongmon, convinced he was an opponent to prove his existence. The DigiDestined attempted many times to stop him but he always got the best of them. Even when the last stone was protected by the combined might of Paildramon, Silphymon and Shakkoumon, BlackWarGreymon refused to give up and manages to defeat all three ultimates regardless of the mortal injuries he took.But when Azulongmon does appear, BlackWarGreymon is easily defeated as the Sovereign tells him that all things had a purpose in life. Thankful for hearing that, BlackWarGreymon left to find his purpose.

On December 27, BlackWarGreymon emerged in the Real World to find/kill Yukio Oikawa for disrupting the balance of both the Real World and the Digital World. However, Agumon had received a power boost from Azulongmon, and he Warp Digivolved to WarGreymon, who then engaged his evil twin, in battle before Imperialdramon arrives and the fight ends with all three fighters knocked out by their attacks. Accepting his lost and asking to be put of his misery, it took lecturing from Wormmon, Agumon and Veemon about the importance of life to convince BlackWarGreymon to enjoy life's pleasures and not go after Oikawa again. However, when BlackWarGreymon showed up as Chikara Hida tried to talk Oikawa out of his plan, he took a mortal hit for Cody's grandfather when Myotismon momentarily took over Oikawa's body. Realizing the truth, BlackWarGreymon uses the last of his strength to seal the Highton View Terrace Gate to the Digital World in attempt to prevent Myotismon from re-entering the Digital World.

Azulongmon

Voiced by: Juurouta Kosugi (Japanese); David Lodge (English)

Azulongmon (チンロンモン, Chinronmon, Qinglongmon) one of the four mega-level Digimon Sovereigns (四聖獣, Shiseijuu) who each rule a quarter of the Digital World. Ruling over the eastern quarter, Azulongmon is based on Seiryuu with power over thunder and lightning. He is most amiable of the Sovereigns, seeing the good in humans and coming to their aid in dire events. Prior to the series, Azulongmon and his fellow Sovereigns were sealed away by the Dark Masters prior to the DigiDestinated's arrival. A year after Apocalymon's defeat, the DigiDestined are resummoned to the Digital World so they can relinguish their crest power to free the Sovereigns. In Azulongmon's case, it was TK and Kari's power that freed him. However, when the presence of the Control Spires set up by Ken bar him and the others from safeguarding the Digital World, Azulongmon indirectly assembled a new DigiDestined team by using Digimon with ancient data whose ability to Armor Digivolve bypasses the Control Spires' negation on Digivolution.

Eventually, Azulongmon is revealed during BlackWarGreymon's rampage as was destroying the Destiny Stones, which kept the balance of the Digital World intact, with Azulongmon in pain whenever a stone is destroyed as he briefly manifests. It would by the DigiDestined using their D3 that Azulongmon is able to fully manifest before BlackWarGreymon could destroy the final DestinyStone. After easily defeating BlackWarGreymon, convincing him to find his place in the world, Azulongmon reveals the nature of his influence to DigiDestined while planting Seeds of Light to replace the six Destinity Stones before leaving the DigiDestined to destroy the remaining Control Spires and stop the evil mastermind behind their creation. Azulongmon later aids the DigiDestined by giving them his DigiCores to restore the original DigiDestineds' Crest powers, allowing Paildramon to become Imperialdramon, and enable Agumon to become WarGreymon once more.
