Revision as of 07:08, 14 February 2014

These are lists of Norwegian supercentenarians (people from Norway who have attained the age of at least 110 years.) There have been 11 verified.[1] Norway's oldest person ever was Maren Bolette Torp,[2] who died in 1989, aged 112 years 61 days. As of 30 June 2024, there is no living supercentenarian in Norway whose lifespan has been verified by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). (GRG researches and documents cases of extreme human longevity.) Norwegian Church records, the accuracy of which are subject to dispute, also show what appear to be several supercentenarians who lived in the south-central part of present-day Norway during the 16th and 17th Centuries, including Johannes Torpe (1549--1664), and Knud Erlandson Etun (1659--1770), both residents of Valdres, Oppland, Norway. If true, this would make Torpe - at 115 years - the longest-lived Norwegian in recorded history.
