The hotel, which is operated by Millennium & Copthorne is located near the former ITV Wales headquarters and the Wenvoe transmitting station, is situated off the A4050 road near the Culverhouse Cross roundabout, which intersects with the A48 and the A4232 which leads northbound to Junction 33 (Cardiff West) of the M4 motorway and southbound to Cardiff Bay. The hotel is approximately 20 minutes by car to Central Cardiff, or 30 minutes by Cardiff Bus route 96 or First Cymru route X2.

The hotel was one of the earliest developments to take place at the Culverhouse Cross site as the development boom took off throughout the 1990s. Today the hotel is closely surrounded by retail outlets.
