"Go Ahead and Break My Heart" is a song recorded by American singer Blake Shelton, featuring guest vocals from Gwen Stefani. It was released as the second promotional single from Shelton's tenth studio album, If I'm Honest (2016), following the release of "Friends". It was issued as a digital download on May 9, 2016. The track was written by both Shelton and Stefani, becoming their first collaboration together.

The single serves as Stefani's debut into the country music industry. The track received generally positive reviews from music critics who appreciated the themes discusses within the song. The release was accompanied by two live performances of the song later that day.

Composition and release

Rolling Stone stated that Shelton and Stefani "don't gush about their relationship in the press too much, as they try to keep some semblance of privacy. On the Billboard Hot 100, the single debuted and peaked at number seventy, becoming the week's second highest debut, behind Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling!", which topped the chart.[3] The song debuted at position thirteen on the Hot Country Songs component chart, and at number two on the Country Digital Songs chart,[4] selling 58,000 copies in the first week.[5] The song has sold 120,000 copies in the US as of June 2016.[6]
