Vangaon is a village in the Palghar district of Maharashtra, India. It is located in the Dahanu taluka.[1]
Transport
Vangaon is located 55 km to the North of Virar on the Western Railway line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. It can be reached from National Highway No.8, 35 km from Charoti Naka. It is 10 km North of Boisar on the Western Railway line.
Vangaon's railway station is used by a number of small villages and settlements in the surrounding area.
Education
The Industrial Training Institute of the Government of Maharashtra is the only major educational institution based in Vangaon. Students from local areas as well as Mumbai, Thane, and Dombivali are enrolled at the institution. A significant number of Aadivasi students are also enrolled at the institute. The school has dedicated hostel facilities.

Culture
There are various public temples like Mahadev, Hanuman Temple, Dattatray and two private temples in Vangaon.
Ganeshotsav or Ganesh Chaturthi, the most popular festival in Maharashtra, is celebrated in the village.
Navratri Festivals are is organised by Navratri Mahotsav Mandal and Jatras are organised every year at the Mahadev Temple at Datta Mandir during Datta Jayanti. Festivals are also organized at Hanuman Mandir during Hanuman Jayanti.

Agriculture
Vangaon is well known for its delicious chikoo, made from Sapodilla fruit, capsicum, tomatoes and coconuts.
Industrial area and power stations
Tarapur MIDC, Tarapur Atomic Power Station, and a thermal power station owned by Reliance Energy Limited are located near the village. The industrial area at Tarapur hosts speciality chemicals, bulk pharmaceuticals, steel, alloy and textile manufacturing companies.
Public transport
Rented cars/taxis, state transport buses (Maharashtra State Transport Corporation) and auto rickshaws are the primary modes of transport.
