Hello! I am new to editing Wikipedia (I have always been a regular user of course!). Thank you very much for all that you've contributed to the project. I am surprised that Susto the band is not notable enough for a page. They have two albums, were recently featured on CBS News, have been reviewed by local newspapers and music websites, and are about to go on tour with the Lumineers. I have seen them play at at packed venues twice. It seems odd to me that they would not have a page at this point.

I have included news articles from cyclingnews.com and cyclingtips.com, both of which are major sports news outlets. Are these sufficiently important outlets? If so, I can include more references from different articles on these sites

Andrew Rothschild has invented the genre bluestronica. There is no published music that falls in this genre of bluestronica. Andrew Rothschild's music does not fit the blues, or electronica genre. Hence he has created a new genre. No artist has claimed their music to be apart of this genre. He has elements of both in his music. The sources are legitimate. This is not a scientific matter, he is an artist and his artwork has received notable attention.

I was researching this company for work and was surprised that they didn't have an article in wikipedia. I wanted to know who they were and what their basic business model was. I had to go to an external source to find this. I thought it would be useful to have this info in wikipedia. I don't work for them, I don't have a vested interest in their success or failure, I just found it annoying that this info wasn't available here, and wanted to fix that.

Thank you for your review of my draft. I have been through way too many drafts, re-writes, and deletions for this page. It has been shortened, condensed, and as many sources as are available have been cited. I have read all of the articles that have been linked. There are no other sources available on the internet, as it is a small company. There are no opinions reflected in the draft, only basic facts. I don't see how this can be changed any more. This latest draft is even a re-write from one of your moderators. Please advise.

Appreciate the comment regarding notability, however surely an amateur gym which produces a national finalist every five years; has a host of professional boxers at its platform and trained a world heavyweight contender is defined with some element of notability? References, both past and present, throughout the history of this establishment highlight its significance?

I'd very much appreciate your feedback as to how I can make this article more robust.

Hello SwisterTwister, I understand your point of view and the publishing rules on Wikipedia. Really, I do! The reason I decided to send the article in Wikipedia (even it doesn't respect the rules) is because Ezi Car Rental is become the first 100% Kiwi own rental company in New Zealand. New Zealand is a small country. References are not like in Europe (where I come from) or another big country in the World. With the current rules of publication only the big companies can be on Wikipedia. Is it really the most relevant point of view for an online encyclopedia? I could be wrong but I don't think so. It is not an argumentation for publishing the article about Ezi Car Rental. Your decision respect the rules. It is just my point of view about this. Now, I will wait until someone else decide that Ezi Car Rental is enough relevant to be on Wikipedia. Thank you for your time and for your participation to Wikipedia. Jeremy

The band "The Hot Place" fits your guideline as, "an ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles." The founding member and guitarist of The Hot Place, Jeff Calder, is a notable musician who is also currently active in the band "The Swimming Pool Q's". The Swimming Pool Q's are a national band, and have been recognized in Rolling Stone magazine, their most recent album "1984-1986:The A&M Years" was a Rolling Stone "Reissue of the Year", picked by David Fricke, on page 32 of the December 19-Jan 2 2014 print magazine. The Swimming Pool Q's have had five national/international album releases, on the major labels A&M, Capitol, and Bar None. The singer and other founding member of The Hot Place, Lisa King has has been a member of notable band The Glenn Phillips band, who have released albums on Virgin and Sony Records. King also played keyboards with The Swimming Pool Q's from 2003-2006. The Hot Place features guest guitarist Richard Lloyd of the band "Television", another member of a prominent 1970's band, with historical releases on Elektra records. The Hot Place has been featured in print, in significant North American publications "Georgia Music Magazine", "Stomp and Stammer", and "Creative Loafing."

The Hot Place is directly connected to two major musical artists. One of its founding members is Jeff Calder of The Swimming Pool Q's, and guest artist Richard Lloyd of Television, who already have Wikipedia Pages. Could you please clarify how to substantiate that more? I did connect The Hot Place to The Swimming Pool Q's via internal Wikipedia linking. The sources cited, if read in detail, are more than just announcements, interviews, and mentions. They directly discuss how Jeff Calder of The Swimming Pool Q's and Richard Lloyd of Television are connected to and/or are members of the Atlanta band The Hot Place. Many of the album reviews and mentions of the band are in analog print media, though I have found several digital places where the band's members are verified and substantiated. Thank you for your help!

This article in particular substantiates The Hot Place's history and verifies the notable musicians who are members. http://www.clatl.com/music/article/13080910/new-wavers-instudio-chemistry-ignites-the-hot-place. I'm not sure how this is not a substantial source. If you could clarify, I would so appreciate it! Thank you!

Hi SisterTwister! Thanks for taking the time to have a look at the changes to the article... Just a quick question for clarification (so that I can get the next edit right): Is the problem that there are not enough external references? A bit confused, as the first reviewer indicated that the article was copied, so I removed all direct references to this (even though they were quoted/cited), but not that there weren't enough notable articles... Please let me know what I need to do to improve the article and have it accepted. Thanks again!

Hi, I would respectfully appreciate a review. Melissa Del Pinto has been recognized as a Canadian artist by The National Gallery of Canada and her name was added to the “Government of Canada, Canadian Heritage Database of Canadian Artists”. I have added the link. In addition, to address the points used to refuse her submission, her paintings are in the collections of notable Canadian collectors. I added the name of Irwin and Claude Lande. Mr. Lande is a noted real-estate developer living in Westmount (Montreal).

I have worked on finding more sources for my citations. The first three reference citations, are from National, credible print and digital magazines, the state run publication "Georgia Music Magazine", and a newspaper which is owned by the Atlanta Journal and Constitution, "Creative Loafing." The References directly explain how The Hot Place contains two notable international musicians in its lineup, Jeff Calder of “The Swimming Pool Q's” and Richard Lloyd of “Television.” Especially notable is source #2, Georgia Music Magazine. This is a state-run print and digital publication. Source 1 and 3 are not merely announcements, they are also detailed articles which explain The Hot Place's debut, and the notable musicians that are involved in the historic project. I also added another source that I found this morning, “Arts Talk” on Blog Talk Radio, Episode #104 Lisa King. I have also looked at other Atlanta bands Wikipedia pages. Some of these are groups which are far less notable than The Hot Place, with no notable musicians involved, and cite less reliable sources. So, I'm curious as to why those articles were approved, and this one is being rejected. Please advise! My sources all verify the notable musicians involved in The Hot Place.

Added another cited source, from "The Recoup" magazine, by Joseph Kyle, in which Jeff Calder directly speaks about being a member and producer of The Hot Place band, with musician Lisa King. https://therecoup.com/2014/04/21/swimming-pool-qs-working-at-the-nut-factory/. The article quotes Jeff Calder of The Swimming Pool Q's, "We have about 2/3 of a new album mixed, and a few basic tracks standing by in the queue, waiting to be finished. I’ve co-produced them with Tim Delaney, a talented Atlanta musician and engineer we’ve worked with as far back as Royal Academy. It certainly helps that I’m friends with a number of great recording engineers, many of whom I was fortunate to be associated with at Atlanta’s legendary Southern Tracks studio, which I helped to manage for many years and where I was on the periphery of what seems like a hundred major rock albums produced by Brendan O’Brien.I like doing new things, having recently produced and played on an album by The Hot Place, Lisa King’s band based in Atlanta. It’s a pretty cool record that has a song called “Saturn Moved” on which Richard Lloyd of Television unleashes a wild solo."

I have resubmitted the article to incorporate all the changes suggested by yourself and other Wikipedia reviewers. I have made substantial changes throughout the document to get rid of any extraneous or unnecessary language, with the effect of streamlining the article. The article now only contains direct and informative language with no self-promotional or journal-like language. I believe you will find the changes I have made to be much more in line with a Wikipedia article.

Obviously trying very hard to conform this to meet the criteria, but wanted to clarify what was meant by focusing on all additional major news, there is a video interview from CNN, but most of the stories tend to refer mostly back to the Chicago Facebook page that I mentioned as a primary source, which to me makes the additional sources a bit moot, but I am willing to do what is needed to get this thing done :) Any further guidance/advice you can offer would be extremely appricated...thanks for the fast review!

Thank you for your time. Rene Moreno meets the notability requirements when you look at it from the angle that he is a very significant person with Down syndrome. That's key here. His documentary is commonplace in collegiate special education curriculums across the country, and has been for 17 years. Up Syndrome has been on Netflix, Hulu amongst many other major streaming outlets for many years. His movies have been the subject of reviews in major trades such as Daily Variety (which is referenced), and he has won a very prestigious award from the National Down Syndrome Congress of the USA (also referenced), which is one of the largest organizations to promote the awareness of Down syndrome that exists in the world today. I think when you look at this person with the correct angle you will understand that he is indeed notable and worthy of inclusion.

Please be more specific as to what should be improved. The sources are all reliable and independent of the subject. The amount of, the breadth and the character of the sources, as well as the notable award winners proof that the article is about a notable subject. So if this is not enough, please be specific about what should be improved.

Thank you for your feedback. This is my first article. I have only ever made minor contributions to other article over the last 10 years or so. Before I wrote this article I read the pages that talk about notability and also needing independent credible sources from news/media publishers who have editors etc.. I believe the page I have drafted has merit based on the guidelines. The development of renewable energy in Australia has been significantly influenced by not for profit and grass roots groups such as Local Power. Not sure if you had a chance to read/view many of the references and if you did perhaps you are not familiar with the Australian media organisations in the references?

The TV coverage of this community initiative was made by the ABC TV network and the TEN TV network. The Australian ABC is a highly credible news organisation of journalistic integrity spanning radio, TV and online. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Broadcasting_Corporation The Australian TEN TV network is one of our 3 commercial news networks and comparable to perhaps NBC or CBS in the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Ten Both of these TV broadcast news services thought this was a newsworthy community initiative which had not been done before. The youtube clips are recordings of the prime time TV news article which were broadcast to audiences of over 1 million people each.

Similarly the ATA is a very credible member based organisation and magazine publisher of ReNew magazine, which has been publishing since 1980 and is not up to it's 138th quarterly magazine https://www.ata.org.au/who/history They chose to write a feature article about the Local Power project because it was something new and novel.

Finally the City South News is a local community newspaper and part of the News Corporation stable of newspapers. While I am not a big fan or Rupert Murdoch (Fox News yuk!) he did get his starts running newspapers in Australia This chain of local papers are said to have 1 million readers weekly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quest_Community_Newspapers

I would humbly ask you to take a closer look at the references, taking into account the above information about independence, and please reconsider this rejection.

    thank you.

18:06:50, 27 January 2017 review of submission by Carrie at The Fischer Group

Thanks for reviewing our article, I really appreciate it. I want to update the article so that it meets guidelines, but wanted to know which portion specifically doesn't conform to the guidelines so I can work with that. From what I can tell, the article if not very different from the following (in words / scope) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M/I_Homes or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PulteGroup.

Fischer is in the same group as those two homebuilders (and many others already included in Wikipedia) and being in the top 50 in the nation (something that M/I mentions in their article as well) I would think that content is noteworthy as well.

The remainder of the article just lists out the areas of business (where they do business) as well as a small amount of history (founder etc...) for the company (something I see the other Homebuilders do as well.)

If you could give me a little more feedback on what is different from my article and those above (as initial examples) I would appreciate it so I can make the needed changes.

Thanks! I look forward to your help / further comments on the differences.

16:22:53, 29 January 2017 review of submission by Carrie at The Fischer Group

Ok, that makes sense. So what updates do I need to make to it for it to meet the new company guidelines? I don't see any specifics on that which we have not already covered here? I'm specifically looking for "doing this would make it meet the new guidelines" kind of information.

I've re-read the following: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(organizations_and_companies) and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Companies/Guidelines and it appears from what I can see there that the article, in its current state covers the areas mentioned.

Again, as far as companies go, and looking at the other homebuilders (as well as other companies) in the space, Fischer is certainly in line with those which are included. (They have been in the top 50 home builders for many years now, they operate in multiple states nationwide, they have plenty of press on them, they are are one of the big builders for the St. Jude's dream home giveaway (which benefits less fortunate people), and the list goes on.

When you get time, let me know what I can do in the way of edits to help get this article revised and into the article space. I appreciate the info so far. It is helpful.

    Thanks.

Hello, first, thanks for taking time to being a Wikipedia curator.

There are 6 main sources cited, that are serious sources (in the Middle-East, and Lebanon). Text publications are rarely digitized, but I could recollect printed articles (Can/should we add them as references and provide scanned proof? What is the procedure for such cases).

The company had a social impact, which is why it is covered. As you might have now noticed, the digital ecosystem is nearly non-existent in this region, and having publicly accessible digital manufacturing service shop with industrial 3D printers in Lebanon is a big step. Not to mention the creation of new 3D printing materials! (2 materials) and several machines.

Additional projects may be appended: Rapidmanufactory has been invited to the St-Etienne Design Biennial this coming march to exhibit: https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/theobsessivedrafter/ . This would generate articles by "more known" media entities. A published book about manufacturing (especially digital fabrication), was created by the founder; An article in "L'Orient Le Jour", talks about it: https://www.lorientlejour.com/article/1030988/guillaume-credoz-et-son-robot.html

Looking forward to your assistance in having this article published.

    Thank you, Chady

Dear SwisterTwister, thank you for your review and suggestions for improvement. You are absolutely right, the viennacontemporary header needs to be deleted (done).

Regarding additional articles: I added an article from the NY Times from 2015: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/14/arts/international/vienna-looks-east-for-fine-art.html?_r=0

But otherwise, I would like to argue that the most important English references are already included in the article (I guess I can’t add German publications where we have a lot of press, in all the major newspapers). I have included: Forbes, Vogue, and important publications from the artworld: Wallpaper Magazine, Blouin Artinfo, Artsy, Sotheby’s blog, The Art Newspaper, artnet News, Flash Art, artforum.com, Widewalls, Cultured Mag.

Would that be fine for you?

    Hi there,

many thanks for taking the time to review the page I created. I am new to Wikipedia so am finding my way through trial and error so would be grateful for any help to improve the chances of submission! I felt the subject worthy of an article, largely because of her role as ambassador for the Orange Tree theatre in London. The theatre is a theatre that produces new work of exceptional standard, most recently reviewed in Variety magazine Los Angeles, and acknowledged to be a forerunner in new writing. Heery was one of fourteen invited because they were considered to be 'leading figures in the Arts and beyond – who will champion the work of the Theatre.' She is also a member of the Davison/Tennant family who have a large fan base in the worldwide science fiction community, not only because of her work with Big Finish audio, but also because of her film work in the series The Tripods, and Life Force. Her son, David Tennant's step brother in law, Louis Davison, has just played Victor in Tim Burton's Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children made by Fox films. As an ambassador for theatre she is able to reach a wide audience through her body of work, regular TV work spanning twenty five years, and professional relationships within the literary world. Is any of this helpful as regards an edit?

    Best Hamhaugh.

Hi there, I wasn't quite sure what you meant by 'merged to the local community's article' - could you clarify? I thought given the school's history and relationship to other wiki articles, that it would be a good candidate for a page of it's own - I don't understand why it's not notable just because it's not a secondary school. Would you mind elaborating?

I'm not sure how to ask, but you reviewed our page for the Hanna Boys Center last. I just found a reference to our non-profit in the United States COngressional Record at our 60th Anniversary in 2010. It's obviously old but maybe it can help as a non-local reference.

I am not sure what else I need to do here. I am happy to strip content out of my entry to get it to be non-advertising but I don't know what to remove.

This process is more than a little difficult.

After your firs review I have added a few more references. I think it should meet your guideline. Here I want to inform you that Bangladesh's news industry basically depends on Bengali language. A few English language Daily Newspaper or Online News portal available in here. So, Bangladeshi actress Misty Zannat's news are all around in Bengali language online and newspaper but a fewer in English newspaper and online. Before re-review my article please consider this fact.

    A food for thought....

As you did at Draft:Peter Wakeman, it is in my opinion a mildly disruptive act to not mention the ASD tagging in the edit summary when you are proposing a page for speedy deletion.Probably WP:TWINKLE could come to your help in such cases and also save a lot of time. Thanks!

Hi guys, thanks for the comments. I'm happy to add more reviews as there are many to choose from. Still, I'm surprised that Nick Kristoff's (arguably the most important reviewer at the NY Times) isn't alone sufficient. Is that all this needs? Just more reviews? Please advise and I will continue adding them. Thanks very much!

I believe the added television interviews and press accounts meet the standards for notability. Also if you look at the page for the Under Secretary of Treasury, there's a red link missing waiting for Jim's page to be added.

Thanks very much. I've just added a lot of reviews from very serious sources including multiple NYtimes, Forbes, BBC, Rolling Stone, the observer, Kirkus (major publishing industry reviewer) and quite a few more.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi David/SwisterTwister,

Thanks very much for reviewing the submission. I read your feedback and have a question regarding references. I'm not sure where I can get any more references from. Would it help by removing the two "article" based ones which were: https://issuu.com/starweekly/docs/nsw-20150721 and www.beanscenemag.com.au/news/article/the-espress-group-to-feature-painted-ellipse-machines-during-mice2013

I only included these two reference links as there wasn't a great deal of information available (and I do realise they were promotional type articles but I wanted something to show the existence of the two companies). If the two links above were removed would it be sufficient to have this published?

This entry submission is to simply note the existence of the two companies and that Espress Group took over from the initial company. I'm also experiencing difficulty displaying the references as per instructions. Another user, MatthewVanitas kindly updated two of the links as they should be but even with following the instructions for ref links I can't seem to replicate what he's done with the remaining links. I also can't remove the two "article" based ones as listed above.

Any further help would be much appreciated as I'm a little stuck.

    Thanks again.

    Hi,

This is with reference to my draft on latentview analytics. I do not understand that why it has been rejected again. If I write too much about the company, you call it advertising and if I write too little you say its not notable. Can you please clarify which sentence looks like advertising? Moreover, other analytics companies like fractal analytics, opera solutions , MuSigma Inc follow the same structure and language in wikipedia which has been accepted. Could you please clarify this as to what particularly you find advertising in the article and what do you expect to see. AlkaPandey1234 (talk) 05:12, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I recently submitted the Zachary Wadsworth page, which you declined. I will work on it more. What should I improve? Your message was "Not satisfying our basic policies and there's no automatic inherited notability from anything or anyone." Which policies did I miss? Also, I'm curious what notability you look for in a composer. I'm not sure my references worked properly, but I'm not sure why. Do you know how to fix them?

Thank you very much for your time!

    Hello SwisterTwister,

You recently reviewed a Draft that I submitted, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Patriot_Software,_LLC.

Your criticism was that this draft didn't include significant coverage from reliable sources. It's good criticism, and I cannot dispute that.

I believe the subject's most reliable independent source that wasn't a passing mention is http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20160428/NEWS/160419803/qa-mike-kappel-ceo-of-patriot-software-in-canton.

In addition, I forgot to include a news article on the subject in Canton's newspaper, the Canton Repository: http://www.cantonrep.com/news/20160403/jackson-townships-patriot-software-helps-fill-small-businesses-needs.

In your eyes, is that enough to establish the subject's notability? If not, what number of sources did you have in mind as a minimum threshold?

I trust your judgement, and would like to do this correctly. Your input will most definitely help.

    Thank you,

You declined this article with the reasoning "this is simply what they would advertise to clients and it's unconvincing regardless of anything or anyone" however, it is not clear what is 'unconvincing', much less who is 'anything or anyone'. Please state coherent grounds for declining it, so that the problem can be fixed.

Also, you stated "examining the sources find they're only announcements and mentions". This did not reflect the facts at the time of the original submission, and even less so now. In the original submission, two reliable, independent sources were cited (namely Cleveland Encyclopedia and ASME), both showing that the subject of this article is both notable and worthy of inclusion. In the meantime, a second more detailed reference by ASME (which has a national audience) as well as a reference from Heartland Science (created by the Ohio Academy of Science) have been added. Both of these also discuss how the subject of this article is notable and worthy of inclusion.

Please accept the submission. Thank you for your time.

    Hi,

Thanks for reviewing this submission! I'm not sure that I understand your feedback in the context of Wikipedia's guidelines for notability for creative individuals.

    These guidelines read as follows:

"1.The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors. 2.The person is known for originating a significant new concept, theory, or technique. 3.The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the primary subject of an independent and notable work (for example, a book, film, or television series, but usually not a single episode of a television series) or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews. 4.The person's work (or works) either (a) has become a significant monument, (b) has been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) has won significant critical attention, or (d) is represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums."

My submission is based on the belief that EMN satisfies at least two of these criteria. In particular, in accordance with the first criteria, it is my belief that ENM's notability as an author is established by: her own writing (sourced); her responsibility for making the reputation of TPT; her reputation in the eyes of her peers as evidenced, for example, by her responsibility in assisting with the publication of Catcher in the Rye.

With respect to her reputation as an artist, the fourth criteria includes the standard that "the person...has won significant critical attention." ENM's award with respect to her painting is explicitly referenced in the submission. I don't see the requirement in the above that you reference, namely, that the subject of a submission in this category verify their notability with holdings in libraries. I believe that such a standard does not exist for very good reason.

While I am willing to concede that EMN's notability as a either an author or a painter might present a close case, I think it quite easy to make a case for her notability based on her accomplishments across disciplines.

Marginal cases like these, and the interpretation of the rules that you are applying in the case of this submission, are rather troubling to me. While I have no doubt that submissions are reviewed on their own merits, as you suggest, my concern is that these individual merits concerns, carried out in an uncoordinated manner, work to systematically undermine the notability of figures like ENM whose work exists in multiple registers. More concerning than that, however, is the way that these individual decisions work to undermine the notability of women. It pains me to see the concessions made both here and in response to my comments on TokyoGirl1979's page regarding derivative notability in the context of artistic communities, and the role played specifically by women in such communities. While the subject is no doubt complicated, it was my belief that in the context of Wikipedia, which has extensive discussion of artistic and literary salons, particular examples of such salon luminaries would be welcome, if only for the purposes of critique.

Having said this I urge you to reconsider your decision. This will be my final inter-Wikipedia exchange on this topic, and I thank you for your time, attention, and commitment.

re: Draft:List of Washburn Guitars instruments

Thank you for your response; it is taken to heart. My concern in drafting a stand-alone list is that I didn't want to clutter an encyclopedic article with a big chunk of data blocks. Because of your feedback, I have just now found relevant commentary in the Manual of Style for such lists, where "Every entry in the list fails the notability criteria" therefore such "are almost always better placed within the context of an article on their "parent" topic."

Work on the list(s) will continue, with intent to bring it into the main Washburn Guitars article when properly fleshed out. And, yes, references ARE being upgraded.

I appreciate your time and guidance.

    Dear SwisterTwister,

Many thanks for your time in reviewing and commenting on my draft article on 'OrderWise'. It is greatly appreciated.

I was very careful to avoid promotional language such as ‘one of the fastest growing companies’ or ‘a wide range range of features’, or ‘greatly boosts a company’s performance’ etc.

I kept everything very factual/neutral, with no bold sale’sy claims, and rigorously referenced the article to a range of third party external independent sources. See specific notes on these below.

In particular, one of the main reference sources used is the Lincolnshire Echo newspaper’s website (Lincolnshire Live) which is an Independent Press Standards Organisations Code of Conduct adhering newspaper which indeed has its own Wikipedia article.

Furthermore, the Mel West. “Software specialists OrderWise reflects on a year of growth and success”. Lincolnshire Live, 21st December 2016 reference and the “Sarah Harrison-Barker. “David Hallam: Finding order in chaos”. Lincolnshire Business, 19th February 2016” reference were major feature articles in the respective publications, written by professional journalists.

As such, there are multiple reliable, independent and verifiable sources used throughout.

Re: the awards – they were independently judged and I referenced them and included them as ‘factual occurrences’. Some of the awards were referenced to the Lincolnshire Echo newspaper’s website (Lincolnshire Live) which, as already stated is an Independent Press Standards Organisations Code of Conduct adhering newspaper which indeed has its own Wikipedia article.

Any help and specific suggestions as to what can be done to, or removed from, the article to make it more suitable for Wikipedia would be greatly appreciated. I’ve looked at similar company articles and they seem to have sections on ‘features/products’, ‘architecture’, accreditations, etc.

Similarly, all sorts of articles seem to mention award wins.

As a first time Wikipedia drafter I am keen to understand and comply with all guidelines, policies etc, so some further, specific guidance would be a great help.

    Thank you.

    Hi Again,

Further to my previous message, just another couple of points that I forgot to add:

The review notice states the article “should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed”. However, the article I wrote ONLY contains references from independent verifiable sources, and there is NO self produced content referenced.

You mention in your review that interviews had been used as reference sources, but I was very careful not to use any quotes from company employees from news articles that included interview elements. Instead I only used reference sources that had facts, information and statements made by the professional journalist.

    HI there Twisted Sister,

Many thanks for the re-review, this is Michael Stever, (filmmaker) I am NOT the person who created this initial draft, nor am I the one who has amended it the last couple times. There is no (Present) need for a re-review as my team has not had a change to make any changes/updates so clearly it's a mute point until then. I did have just a couple questions regarding the submission protocol and I've not been able to get a solid enough answer from the person doing this for me so am reaching out to you myself. I realize that you want more 'high profile' pieces added to to this draft, which I actually am in the process of providing. To date myself or my team have just not had the chance as we've been swamped with work, and other obligations.

In the meantime, if you don't mind me showing you the two pieces I'd planned on adding, it would be HUGELY helpful if you could give a heads up if you thought these two following write-ups could be helpful in pushing my listing through... Here are the two mentiones in two nationally circulated, high-profile publications. BOTH of the below write-ups are relatively new...

FEATURED MENTION IN 'ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY' http://ew.com/article/2016/09/14/fearnyc-new-york-horror-film-festival/

    FEATURED WRITE-UP 'FANGORIA' magazine http://www.fangoria.com/new/winners-highlight-video-revealed-for-fearnyc-festival/

Finally, TwistedSister... if I may humbly ask, Why do the rejection notices constantly and repeatedly say that the submissions need to be ABOUT ME, not BY ME? Most of these links and such are to write-ups in noteworthy, legitimate online publications, so I (nor the person doing this for me) are clearly understanding the particulars of this important bullet point. Can you PLEASE expand on this, so I/we know? I have NEVER had the question adequately answered, and clearly we need to better understand so my team can fine tune the draft to a most acceptable level... Is it that I need to ensure ALL links to anythings tied to my own website, (MichaelStever.net) need to be fully omitted? Am also in the dark on what does, or does NOT constitute as worthy information from IMDB, as I see COUNTLESS other wiki pages that list/feature IMDB content.

ALSO, I'm worrying that this existing draft will somehow be deleted, or permenantly removed if it gets enough 'rejection' notices, so PLEASE is there any way to ensure it NOT get re-reviewed anymore until myself and my team have time regroup, and re-edit, it would be sincerely appreciated,

thank you for ANY clues you have TwistedSister..

My mom's also about to pass, so have to brace for that which leaves this pretty low on the priority list, but SO SINCERELY appreciate any help or input you could offer,

    Sincerely,

    Michael Stever

Review of Kansas City Area Development Council

Hello SwisterTwister, I appreciate the time you spent with our submission. Could you please help me to better understand your comments. For example, you wrote that this is advertising and there is "clearly nothing else to say about the company." The Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC) is a nonprofit economic development entity that represents the Greater Kansas City region. To our knowledge there are many similar listings on Wikipedia fdadfa

In regards to the deletion because of "advertising," which elements specifically are you referring to?

References & Notability I have now compared all of our references with Wikipedia's guidelines and determined the "bad" sources.

Do I need to keep all existing references that are paired with the current content, or will I need to re-write all of it and add only the "reliable" references? Or, may I keep the current content and add the "reliable" sources to the list.

What information about the organization will provide notability?

Thank you again for reviewing our submission, and I look forward to your response.

To the reviewer of the proposed Wikipedia entry for "Helen Louise Beccard Niles":

I appreciate your making this review. I feel caught in a Catch-22 situation, though. If Helen Louise Beccard Niles were already famous, there would already be a Wikipedia page for her. Since she is not famous, it looks to be a difficult matter to demonstrate that her career is worthy of notice. I have read the Wikipedia guidelines on this subject, and I would like to offer the following comments:

--The artist's work was often written about in mainstream newspapers during her exceptionally long and productive career, as is indicated in the Notes section.

--The artist's work was chosen out for exhibit in a number of the leading art museums in the country, as well as in very many shows sponsored by the leading artist associations in her places of residence, as is indicated in the "Exhibits and Awards" section.

--There is currently a lot of scholarly interest in recovering the work of women artists and writers who had talent and did distinguished work in former years, but who never won big names during their lifetimes, whether because of personal factors affecting women's lives (such as childbearing and raising a family) or because of professional biases that favored men.

--The artist not only worked at a very high professional level. Importantly, many of her drawings, prints, and paintings are of unusual historical interest in providing visual documentation of the "vanished America" of the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, particularly through her portraits of "people of color" and her depictions of working-class people and scenes. Her body of work can now be viewed as having become "a significant cultural monument," even though it was not viewed as such during her lifetime.

--Many of the artists' works are now scattered among private owners, and it will be to their interest to have a Wikipedia page available that provides meaningful information as to who the artist was. Likewise, scholars of the future may be interested in studying the artist's career for the light it sheds on the broader topic of women artists of the twentieth century.

--Finally, I would like to support this my claims about the distinguished character of the artist's work, as well as its historical importance, by uploading a cluster of images of her artwork to the proposed web page. I could not succeed in doing this when I tried, however, though I think I did succeed in mounting one photo of the artist herself to a Wikipedia site (though I cannot now locate where it is....). As a novice editor, how can I best upload images to the proposed page?

I apologize for the length of this reply. I've spent a lot of time preparing this entry and I'd very much like to see it approved, though I know it probably needs rewriting so as to better bring out the points I raise here. I am willing to resubmit the article but I would like to know if these thoughts seem to make sense.

Hi there Twisted Sister, I have spent lots of time researching and editing my entry for Metalock in Wikipedia. Your feedback was very useful. However, I am not convinced that the third time I have submitted the article is still good enough. Citing sources was a part of the previous rejection, however the Metalock process is a sparcely published process - but an important engineering one.

I translated, from the english to the spanish, and expanded the article about Rebecca Solnit. There is no spanish article about Rebecca Solnit in the Wikipedia. My article was rejected because "the subject of this article already exists in Wikipedia. You can find it and improve it at Rebecca Solnit instead". In english you have an article, which I did not edited, but in spanish there is nothing about the author. I am new in wikipedia and I do not know what to do, how is the correct procedure when you are translating an article from a language to another? Could you give me some information about the steps I need to follow right now?

    Many thanks in advance.

I would like to know what else I can do to "establish notability", as I have already scoured libraries and internet sources. Tom Waltham is well known from his recordings (many of which are on youtube), movies, and from his equal collaboration with other jazz musicians who have their own wikipedia entries. Yet the only biography available is Daniel Nevers (in French), who describes him as "mystérieux" and makes a strong case that he should be better known. It seems to me that wikipedia is the place to do this.

Would this draft page meet notability requirements not under WP:Politician but under a category such as Obama administration personnel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Obama_administration_personnel), where many other past White House aides have had pages created? Thanks for the feedback. However, indeed the citations do include evidence of the subject's notability. For example, there are bio links to articles written about the subject in Fortune Magazine. Additionally, you mentioned that links to reviews for the subject's books would also be helpful, towards that end, citations containing book reviews from both the LA Times and the Chicago Tribune were already included. The citations should not be links to mentions, but instead actual sources of information about the subject. This individual is quite notable and it escapes me how she wasn't included years ago. Please advise.

    Jalicandri (talk) 22:42, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. As per your suggestion, I added additional citations (with links) of reviews by the NY Times and LA Times on the subject's books. Moreover, please note a link to Columbia.edu which lists the subject as the winner of the prestigious Eccles Prize for economic literature. Thank you.

I think we got it - I hope. I edited the subject's career section to introduce the connection with the subject's books. I also added hyperlinks within some of the sections and other small edits. I've studied the subject for a while, so I think it's important to keep the critical aspects of the career history as they led to the books. Without the career section, then the subject didn't have the expertise to write the books. Thank you.

    Maronda Homes Delete Request

SwisterTwister Although i just typed TwistedSister and had to delete it lol. I understand your concern with it being too PR focused however I have to say I really tried to keep it as unbiased and neutral as possible which i am being. I created the page because during our home buying process in the pittsburgh area we researched many builders and couldn't seem to find to much info on maronda homes, that is not the reason we didn't use them. But the other builder we went with has a wikipedia page so i figured why should maronda and s&a homes. Creating the page was one of my ways to expose more info to potential people looking for more info on the company. I also plan to create a page for S&A homes but before i do that i would like to make sure i have a full understanding of what Wikipedia is looking for. Should i locate more creditable sources? The local papers are pretty big publications and i would with out a doubt consider them creditable. Their no NYtimes but they are legit brick & mortar establishments in pittsburgh for 100+ years. I don't think i am going to find too much in terms of bignames like NYtimes because their not in NY. Let me know what more you need and i will try my best.

here is something [1] but will this be considered to PR related, I guess it's just hard when your talking about a business to stray away from that.

Could this fit the non-PR related [2][3]

Just trying to understand sorry to bother and thank you for your help :)

I created a page. The reviewer has left a message that the ref are just a notice. But I wanted to clarify that, the the two references are very important because - ( 1) the NITI AAYOG is a Government of India Division, where a through check happens before making an entry for Any Non-profitable organization. ( 2) Guidestar is a very renowned NGO or NPO directory. They also conduct a thorough check before any entry.

My request for IMPORTING AN ARTICLE FROM DE:WIKIPEDIA was denied by saying "This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability". That means an approved article in de:Wikipedia, which was ONLY TRANSLATED, is not a reliable reference? That means, the different language versions of Wikipedia are that independent that one has to start from scratch in every language? If that is so, I've just learned a lot about the wonderful idea of having a global encylcopedia... Maybe it's my bad, but I could not find a specific path to submit a translation. Review of submission on Africa50 by Gaboleo2

Dear Swister Sister, Thanks for reviewing the article I submitted on Africa50 (and all your other great work on Wiki). As you will see, I have added several more reliable sources to the points made, so the article and the importance of having an entry on Africa50 is now supported by major media such as Bloomberg, Jeune Afrique (the major pan-African weekly), Huffington Post, some relevant local media, and several more top financial and African online news sites. I'm not sure what more I could do. I think that a publicly financed infrastructure fund worth almost $1 billion supported by 23 African countries merits inclusion in Wikipedia. There are a many less important entities listed. BTW -- Take a look at the entry for "Martin J. Silverstein", a possible Trump nominee for a development assistance post. I think there is a bunch of unsupported material in there.

    I look forward to hearing from youGaboleo2 (talk) 11:27, 11 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Second opinion about an article

Hey SwisterTwister! For the first time, I've been trying to write an article through WP:AFC so I can improve what I can do to create on Wikipedia. However I've ran into a stump that I need a second opinion on and that being the name of the subject and the subject in general. The subject is a feral child whose at the age of 18 as of 2017, however that being said, I'm having certain doubts about creating the article.

Although the subject merits as a possible case study for psychology's basis of human conditioning, I wanted first an opinion if I should create the article about Danielle/Dani (as I believe there's a sufficient amount of sources at this time) and second if possible, then how would I go about in naming the articles subject? Most sourcing will either include the name of birth, pseudonym, or current name of her, however being that shes 18 and a feral child should the name be permitted to one or the other per what Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Public figures has to say? (Quick overview of who I'm talking about): Encyclopedic Overview or Story and another person being a feral child Genie (feral child). Adog104 Talk to me 23:12, 11 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I need further, specific guidance please following rejection of draft entry for Gavin Selerie.

    Queries for reviewer:

    1. The draft does contain reference to some significant reviews (e.g. The Times Literary Supplement and The Observer [London]) and articles (e.g. from The Guardian) but perhaps these are insufficiently flagged up in the main text. Would it help to mention these titles in the main text and not merely in the notes?

    2. The authority of some of the sources may not be immediately apparent to readers outside the UK.Ian McMillan is the leading poetry presenter on BBC Radio 3, although the review referred to is from an online magazine. (There is a new hyperlink to this.) Would it help to use some introductory phrase such as ‘BBC presenter Ian McMillan’ or would this cause confusion? Again, Robert Hampson is a leading literary critic and professor, but it is difficult to indicate this without overloading syntax. Jacket Magazine is a highly regarded online publication with a long history.

    3. On the issue of reliability of sources: At present I cannot see anything that clashes with Wikipedia policy. Perhaps you could indicate an example in the text submitted where this is an issue.

    4. There are other significant reviews not mentioned in this draft, due to concerns about length. For instance, reviews of two books in Chicago Review. Would it help to add these to the list of external references?

    5. Would it help to add ISBNs to the list of book titles? Some comparable entries for poets seem to include these, although more for North American than UK writers.

    6. In the draft there is already a cross-reference to the Wikipedia entry on The British Poetry Revival, in which Selerie is mentioned. (Many of the other poets have individual Wikipedia entries.)

A further cross-reference in the entry for Sheridan Le Fanu (Further Reading section):

‘Le Fanu, his works, and his family background are explored in Gavin Selerie's mixed prose/verse text Le Fanu's Ghost (2006).’

[Gavin Selerie in red because at present there’s no Wikipedia entry for him]

    7. As further evidence of notability, I propose adding a small section to the bibliography listing details of some anthologies in which Selerie has appeared. This seems to be standard practice.

About the rejection of my VeEX company profile (draft) contibution

Hi, after reviewing multiple (similar) company profiles in Wikipedia, I did my best to improve its contents to make sure it doesn't advertise products or service, so it only focuses on the field of expertize. I also added multiple citations of reputable trade magazines and news to validate the relevance of the company in the telecommunications sector. So, I still don't know why is it declared as an advert? Many of the other Similar Companies listed in the article, do have Wikipedia profiles and even describe their products by name, so I'm not really sure why they passed the bar and this article didn't. I would appreciate any guidance, because at this point I'm perplexed and lost. We believe that the VeEX company deserves a page to define it, since it will continue to contribute its expertize to Wikipedia in the communications technologies area and other articles are already citing VeEX. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Veexpolo (talkcontribs) 23:54, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Review of article on Juan Monatoya

Hello David, thanks tremendously for your rapid reply to my submission for the addition of

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Juan_Montoya_(Interior_Designer)

I was expecting it to take a week and it got done in 12 hours. That's really commendable.

I'm a junior editor. These first few submissions of articles are primarily an exercise in learning to submit articles according to wikipedia's standards. I will include a larger number of references as you suggested (there are plenty available) However of the three I included, Two of them are probably the foremost peer reviewed journals our industry ( interior design ) has to offer. It is actually quite hard to find better references than Interior Design magazine and Architectural Digest. They have been around a very long time and are notoriously stuffy and conservative about inclusions into their profiles section.

For this reason I would like to know how I go about proposing the acceptance of these sources as WP:RS if that is possible. Rejecting these sources as the basis for starting an article essentially closes the door on a wealth of information from which Wikipedia could benefit.

    Other questions:

    • Would quoting the article page number and publication code of the printed journals be better than providing links to a website?
    • For the publisher I included as a reference on his inclusion in a published biographical book, what would be a better source than the information on the publisher's website?
    • Would press coverage of the works created by this interior designer help to increase the volume of sources in this article?
    • I don't wish to spend lots of time picking sources at random (there's an enormous amount of information on the person I proposed for inclusion) and having my article re-rejected so with regard to this industry and to help me submit future articles on interior designers, could I have some help with sourcing and notability guidelines specific to this field?

Thanks so much for your time, and for reading my queries (if you made it his far :)...)

    Respectfully, Elliott Edaham (talk) 00:45, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
David, thanks again for posting that comment on the page for Juan Montoya, in which you stated that sources should not be "announcements, mentions, press releases or similar". The sources I included do not seem to fit that description. Two of them are full biographical articles on the person, one of which is his inclusion into a list of designers who have contributed significantly to the field. The last is a citation of a published hardback autobiography on his life. I will as I say, continue to edit the article. It ought to be clear that I'm trying to create it as a seedling which can be improved over time by others. Thanks again for your help!Edaham (talk) 01:28, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps I can help. It's possible that he is notable, but the article does not yet show it. The 2 linked articles will be clearer if given in full bibliographic format using the cite journal template. The third item is a book: use cite book for this, linking to the worldcat entry http://www.worldcat.org/title/la-formentera-the-woodland-refuge-of-juan-montoya/oclc/930788465&referer=brief_results

There is a second book also, at http://www.worldcat.org/title/juan-montoya/oclc/837116731&referer=brief_results. See ifyou can additionally find any reviews of the books. The criterion is WP:CREATIVE, and the books might be enough to do it. DGG ( talk ) 08:37, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@DGG:That does help - a lot! Thank you. I've also found some news sources which I will add to the article on projects completed by him. Is it OK/necessary to include comment tags in my revised article to explain what changes have been made?

Hi Swister Twister. Thanks for your feedback on the article GDS Services. Please excuse me but I'm still a little confused as to why those sources are essentially not acceptable, as they are independent sources. Does it have to do with the nature of the article or something? I thought these sources would meet the guidelines because they are from independent sources. I went ahead and included a couple of other sources as well, but if you could please perhaps elaborate more as to why these sources are not acceptable, I would greatly appreciate it. Hi, thanks for your review and I appreciate this is a difficult page to create without looking like spam but my intentions are wholesome so I'm just looking for a little more advice on how to get this in. Looking at list of bookmakers there are 26 pages of a similar nature to the one I'm trying to create, so what differentiates these pages from mine? I believe notability is more than covered by the fact the company is an offshoot of one of the UK's most recognisable newspapers and is involved in various sponsorship activities attracting interest in the brand's origins and parentage (both of the parent companies have detailed Wikipedia pages).

What causes my page to be considered less worthy of approval than the likes of SBOBET and Sportingbet? I'm just looking for advice so I can get it right. Thanks

Review of submission at Articles for creation: Abacus_24- (February 14)

    Hello,

I was wondering what caused the page I contributed to be declined. A similar business, "Spigen" (5 years younger) has a wikipedia page using the same sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spigen

again, the submission I sent is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Abacus_24-7

they both use the same sources and template, yet Spigen was approved and Abacus 24-7 was not. May I ask what my submission is missing?

    Assistant75 (talk) 22:02, 15 February 2017 (UTC) Hi-[reply]

I have a few questions about my proposed article on Roy "Bud" Johns

    1. A wikipedia page with just his picture seems to have been started on him by someone else - here is the link: [1] can I use that image?

    2. He is the founder of a sport called Ride and Tie - the fact that he is the founder of this sport - here is the wikipedia link showing he is the founder - seems to make him notable. If I rework the biography based on this information would that help it get published? Seems like if he can be verified that he is the founder of this sport it would be pretty great to have a biography page on him - how many people are the founder of a sport?. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ride_and_Tie

    3. What other reliable sources are helpful? newspaper articles he has written?

    Thanks for your help! Assistant75 (talk) 22:02, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Content Reverting

    Thank you for replying.

Titan is a largest and world - famous brand as you would also be knowing. When I checked the Wikipedia, there was no much updated information about company and their products. So with the help of a contributor, the page was updated. The content that was added in Titan page was updated information which was taken from company website and other news source.

Though I have gone through the policies of Wikipedia, I don't know exactly what style or write up should be there for Wikipedia. So it would be better if you guide me on how exactly the writing style should be and the content style. Please don't share the Wikipedia guidelines because I have already checked it. Hello, Please note that as per your comments "Specifically needs all available major independent news and reviews.", I have
added 2 external, reliable and independent sources (variety.com & eyeforfilm.co.uk) & 1 new citation form indiewire.com about Javier Rebollo (not just movies).
Hope this is good enough for creation.
P.S. Gentle reminder of the fact that this article is being created from exactly the same information (and now, even more) that was used to create one of it's counterpart in Spanish https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javier_Rebollo
    Thanks.
    TopCipher 06:24, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

    Hello again,
As per your 2nd comment "I see, however considering there's no limit in significant news and reviews, it will especially help adding all existing others.", I have
added 9 more external reference, most notably from MUBI, American Film Institute & The Hollywood Reporter along with 2 other citations.
These are pretty much all the news articles covered by the IMDB and most others (if any) are about his movies and not so much about the person himself.
    Thanks.

@SwisterTwister: My apologies over the intrusion and I understand that you must be swamped (almost always) but was hoping if you could give my draft another glance? I have added all necessary / required references and citations (per your comments).

Review of submission at Articles for creation: Cannon.js (February 16)

    Hello SwisterTwister,

Thank you for reviewing my draft article on cannon.js. Your last comment was "Would benefit from any available reviews". Unfortunately I was not able to find a proper review of cannon.js - most pages I found were either comparisons of the existing physics engines, or else they were tutorials on how to use cannon.js.

BTW - is this the right place to answer comments? I read your welcome page which was useful - but I'm still not sure where is the right place to answer an AfC comment.

    Closing AN/I discussion

Hi there, I have closed the discussion about you at AN/I because there was no consensus to take action against you or impose a sanction. However as you'll see in my closing notice there WAS a strong consensus that you really need to change your habit of giving minimal or no notice about page deletions. You are right that there is no such absolute policy. But you also need to recognise that the consensus against you at AN/I was very strong. Continue as you have been and it will only be a matter of time before another complaint is made. After such a thorough examination of your editing, and such a clear warning from your peers, a second AN/I might result in a different outcome. I'm sorry to have to speak so bluntly to a good and productive colleague; in every other respect your work here is exemplary. Please heed your peers on this, even if you believe yourself to be right. Hi SwisterTwister,

thanks for taking the time to review the article. I've made some changes (i.e. taken out the organization's own website as a source and changed the tone to be more neutral. I resubmitted it a few weeks ago, but have not yet had any new feedback. Would you mind taking another look at it and, if there are still faults, be a bit more specific on which sections need to be changed?

    Highly appreciate it!

    Uriel Rothblum

When you accepted the draft Uriel Rothblum on Feb.12 (last Monday) you introduced severe copyright violations into Wikipedia. The entirety of the first revision of the draft was copied from one of its sources, and the same editor later introduced copyvios from another source. I have stubbed the article back down and revdelled the copyright-violating revisions, so I think there is little more to be done in this case. But you might want to be more careful of this sort of thing in future. —David Eppstein (talk) 01:10, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reasons not clear for rejecting Pradeep Gupta's Page

Dear SwisterTalk, This is further to your comment on rejection of Pradeep Gupta's page.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Pradeep_Gupta

I feel that the profile's references have not been read carefully, because they are very clearly not self-advertising, as mentioned in your comments.

Please note that the following references are clearly not self-advertising:

    1. A press release by The Press Information Bureau of The Govt. of India, stating that Mr. Gupta has been conferred with a prestigious award by the Home Minister of India. A press release by the Govt. of India can't be treated as self-advertising. It's very clearly a neutral reference.

    2. Wikipedia's rules suggest that he should have been covered in books by reputed publishing houses. I have clearly given references of two reputed publishers--Tata McGraw Hill and Amazon.com. They have published books that provide details of Mr. Gupta's achievements and contributions to the Indian IT industry. Surely, these publishers would not be publishing anything from anybody, without carefully whetting them. They can't therefore be considered as self-advertising.

    3. Mr. Gupta keeps getting invited to speak at various global forums, like the reference I gave on MIT's Global Workshop in Estonia. I think Massachussettes Institue of Technology is reputed enough, and would certainly not be influenced by anyone in any way. They would impartially invite only relevant experts for their forums.

    4. Mr. Gupta started the FIRST IT MAGAZINE in India--Dataquest, followed by many other popular titles like PCQuest, Voice and Data, etc. And he did it 35 YEARS Ago, when IT industry was at a nascent stage in India. I'm sure Wikipedia would like to quote such first initiatives that have happened across the world. Moreover, all these magazines are very well known and respected all over India. Just about every stalwart of Indian IT industry has grown up reading these magazines, many of whom have been featured on Wikipedia as well.

I am therefore rather surprised, and in fact, do not appreciate your comment about how the references I've provided above are self-advertising and that they are not tolerated here. I very well understand and respect Wikipedia's guidelines, which is why I clearly provided completely neutral, external references.

I would therefore appreciate if you consider his profile based on my points above. Anilchopra1973 (talk) 05:15, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi SwisterTwister, most of Jeffrey J Hopp's achievements were prior to 1997 when Google kicked off. We have volumes of press clippings. Can we scan those and use those to verify his notability?

... or possibly use newspaper article achives links? Your thoughts are appreciated. The definition of those worthy of a wiki page reads the person needs to be "remarkable" and "notable". Jeffrey Hopp's achievement as founder and CEO of one of the largest charities still operating in Western Australia along with founding and establishing the New Zealander of the Year Awards (the highest accolade a New Zealand citizen can receive and is also still operating) are two of the notable and remarkable things we want to publish. I have read the policy pages. I would really appreciate any direction or advice you can provide to help us establish a Wiki page. Jeffreyjhopp (talk) 06:06, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is the correction section. Just so I understand correctly as to why the RecordFarm page is being deleted, it is not "notable." Meaning not noteworthy. However RecordFarm has several sources, albeit they are in Korean.

Wikipedia classifies notability as having three "Primary Criteria": depth of coverage, audience, and independence of sources. I will discuss each point in my understanding. 1. Depth of coverage, I feel is covered. I have plenty of sources, even more unused, however I didn't include because the articles are redundant (maybe I should've included those too despite this?). 2. Audience, this point is perhaps weak. RecordFarm's attention is mostly Korean. This, plus the sources are mostly in the Korean language would mean that it is best found on the Korean Wikipedia page instead? 3. Independence of sources, I think yes. Independence as in the news articles about the company are not paid/press releases/dependents or information dispersed by the RecordFarm itself, then yes, the news articles are independent.

Thank you for taking this time to read ^^

I have read the Golden Rule and the requirements for significant comment from reliable sources so I do not understand what is missing to prove the Notoriety of the one of the most controversial people in Alberta politics, the Mayor of Alberta's 14th largest city (Chestermere) Patricia Matthews: see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Patricia_Matthews_(politician)#cite_note-77

I have clearly explained her importance and her notoriety as well as providing dozens of reliable independent media sources from TV coverage to local newspapers. Just today she was cleared of wrong doing in a Provincial investigation that took about a year (see the last line AND the two cited independent media sources). Your comments as to what is missing would be appreciated.

Please advise any possible solutions as this is my first submission.

Dear Quasar G. I require assistance because Im a rookie wiki publisher and I have browsed the web for all accessible info about the school: Scandinavian Academy of Aeronautics (Swedish: Skandinaviens Flygtekniska Akademi) There is simply not much information available cause the school was shut down 15 years ago. -However, it was a respectable college for 30 years and educated several thousand engineers in its history.

The references number 5,6 and 7 are governmental verifications that the school was accredited from both Norwegian and Swedish government. If this information is not enough, please point me in the direction to what sources you need to approve it.
