Yes, let's delete the word. Other sections make clear what ownership it has and, clearly, Penguin is not associated with being American anyway.

Student Editing Plans

Hello fellow Wikipedia editors! I am a student who has been assigned the task of editing this article for a Technical Editing course. In the upcoming weeks I will attempt to carry out the following tasks:

1. Reorganize and standardize Imprint section, drawing upon similar articles as a template

2. Revise neutral POV issues and fact-check and reword sentences that seem biased

3. Rewrite lead to align it better with similar articles' lead styles

4. Delete/move redundant or outdated info

5. Copyedit text for minor improvements

6. Provide citations for sections that need them

Please let me know if you have any suggestions regarding these changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mowhitworth796 (talkcontribs) 18:34, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Major Reorganization Edit

I just made two substantial edits to the organization of the Divisions and imprints section, and the Book Country section.

  • First of all, I listed each division's imprints to make them more navigable and accessible
  • As descriptors for each imprint, I mostly retained the original descriptions. However, some of these came directly from the Random House or Penguin sites and violated neutral POV issues, so I hopefully removed most of the biased language
  • I removed "Delacorte Press" from the Random House Children's Books list of imprints because it already appeared in a separate list and I could not find any info to support it as a children's publisher. If this was done in error, please add Delacorte Press to the Children's section with a relevant source
  • I removed the Wiki link to Crown Books, because the link was to a bookstore that has no relation to the publisher

Please offer feedback on these edits and revise as necessary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mowhitworth796 (talkcontribs) 22:58, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
