The '''2017–18 Formula E season''' (known for commercial reasons as the '''2017–18 [[ABB Group|ABB]] FIA Formula E season''')<ref>{{cite web|url=http://autoweek.com/article/formula-e/formula-e-adds-series-title-sponsor-2018-season |title=Formula E adds series title sponsor for 2017-18 season |publisher=Autoweek |date=9 January 2018 |accessdate=12 January 2018}}</ref> is the fourth season of the [[Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile]] (FIA) [[Formula E]] motor racing. It features the 2017–18 [[ABB Group|ABB]] FIA Formula E Championship, a [[Motorsport|motor racing]] championship for [[Open-wheel car|open-wheel]] [[Electric car|electric racing cars]], recognised by FIA, the sport's governing body, as the highest class of competition for electrically powered vehicles. Twenty drivers representing ten teams will contest twelve ePrix, which started in [[2017 Hong Kong ePrix|Hong Kong]] on 2 December 2017 and will end on 15 July 2018 in [[2018 New York City ePrix|New York City]] as they compete for the Drivers' and Teams' Championships.

[[Lucas di Grassi]] is the defending Drivers' Champion after securing his first title at the [[2017 Montreal ePrix]]. [[DAMS|Renault e.Dams]] began the season as the defending Teams' Champion, having clinched its third consecutive accolade at the same event.

After six rounds, [[Jean-Éric Vergne]] leads the Drivers' Championship with 109 points, with [[Felix Rosenqvist]] in second with 79 points, and [[Sam Bird]] in third with 76 points. [[Techeetah]] currently lead the Teams' Championship, ahead of [[Mahindra Racing]] and [[DS Virgin Racing]].

Sounds good to me. If you could create the skeleton article, I'd be really grateful. I could help flesh it out, too. Also, a lot of the wiki'ing I do is when I'm at work and there are no major projects to be completed, but, unfortunately, this week we're rather busy. If you want to go ahead and get started, I'll be around here and there. Let me know what's up. Thanks for uploading [[:Image:MastaKillaMastaKilla.ogg]]. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The [[Wikimedia Foundation]] is very careful about the images included in [[Wikipedia]] because of [[copyright law]] (see Wikipedia's [[Wikipedia:Copyright|Copyright policy]]).

==Rule changes==
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are [[open content]], [[public domain]], and [[fair use]]. Find the appropriate template in [[Wikipedia:Image copyright tags]] and place it on the image page like this: <code>{&#123;TemplateName}}</code>.
* The maximum power usage during the race was increased from 170 [[Kilowatt|kW]] to 180&nbsp;kW.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.fiaformulae.com/en/news/2017/june/formula-e-raises-race-power-for-season-4/|title=Formula E raises race power for Season 4|publisher=fiaformulae.com|date=10 January 2017}}</ref>
* A point for the fastest lap will be restricted to drivers finishing in the top 10, ending the incentive for drivers with damaged cars or placed outside points positions to switch cars to get fastest lap with no intent of finishing the race.

== freestyle rap ==

There are some other problems, but take the first sentance: "Freestyle rap is, strictly speaking, rapping that is done in the moment at pure free flow". ''Flow'' is hip hop slang for either a)prosody or b)a rap. Not only is it confusing to people who don't know the word, but it even confused me a bit, because there's two meanings. Just an example.--[[User:Urthogie|Urthogie]] 10:15, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

:It should be more obvious to people who never heard of hip-hop. Something like: Freestyle rap is an [[improvisation]] of [[rapping]] and one of the most visible elements of [[hip hop culture]] in the mainstream media. I guess if it could be more obvious it wouldnt needs the template.--[[User:Urthogie|Urthogie]] 10:39, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

==Request for edit summary==
Hi. I am a [[Wikipedia:Bots|bot]], and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use [[edit summaries]] a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 38% for major edits and 45% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 47 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the [[User talk:Mathbot/Feedback on the summary bot|feedback page]]. Thank you, and happy edits, [[User:Mathbot|Mathbot]] 16:31, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

===Drivers' Championship standings===
Thanks for uploading '''[[:Image:GhostfaceChildsPlay.ogg]]'''. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the [[copyright]] status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
Points were awarded to the top ten classified finishers in every race, the pole position starter, and the driver who set the fastest lap, using the following structure:

{| class="wikitable" style="font-size:85%; text-align:center"
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{tl|GFDL-self}} to release it under the [[GFDL]]. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read [[Wikipedia:Fair use|fair use]], and then use a tag such as {{tlp|Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at [[Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use]]. See [[Wikipedia:Image copyright tags]] for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

:I have no problem defending the deletion of promo images of "mainstream cars", Wikipedia is the [[free content|free-licensed]] ensyclopedia and fair use should only be used when absolutely nessesary, that goes beyond weter or not the copyright holder is likely to object to our particular use (and Wikipedia is not "the media"). Yes it's constraining sometimes, but it is important for the long term viability of the project. We do have ''lots'' of free licensed photos of cars and most are of perfectly good enough quality for our purposes. Aaaanyway, that said I admit to beeing a bit quick to tag these two, totaly missed the bit about them beeing concept cars that where only shown at once auto show 10+ years ago, my bad. I closed those two as "kept". I would recomend adding a [[Help:Image description page#Fair use rationale|fair use rationale]] for those images though. --[[User:Sherool|Sherool]] <span style="font-size:75%">[[User talk:Sherool|(talk)]]</span> 22:03, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

==Wikiproject Automobiles Notification==
Hi Jamieli, you were on the list of members at [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles|WikiProject Automobiles]] and we are introducing a new way of listing members, as the old list was becoming too long. Our new method involves having all of our members in a category.

To add yourself to the category just add the userbox to your user page by putting '''<nowiki>{{</nowiki>[[Template:Wiki Auto Project|Wiki Auto Project]]<nowiki>}}</nowiki>''' where you want the userbox. Alternatively if you don't like the userbox you can add '''<nowiki>[[Category:WikiProject Automobiles members|Jamieli]]</nowiki>''' to your userpage.

If you no longer wish to be a member of the project, simply don't add the userbox or category, there's no pressure. Thanks for uploading '''[[:Image:Bulletproof wallets.jpg]]'''. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at [[Wikipedia:Non-free content]] and then go to [[:Image:Bulletproof wallets.jpg|the image description page]] and clarify why you think the image qualifies.

† – Drivers did not finish the race, but were classified as they completed more than 90% of the race distance.

==Orphaned non-free image (Image:B00000ILTK.01.LZZZZZZZ.gif)==
Thanks for uploading '''[[:Image:B00000ILTK.01.LZZZZZZZ.gif]]'''. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a [[WP:FU|claim of fair use]]. However, the image is currently [[Wikipedia:Orphan|orphaned]], meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. [[WP:BOLD|You may add it back]] if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see [[Wikipedia:Non-free content#Policy|our policy for non-free media]]).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "[[Special:Contributions/{{PAGENAME}}|my contributions]]" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. ==Fair use rationale for [[:Image:Activa01.jpg]]==
[[Image:Nuvola apps important.svg|70px|left]]
Thanks for uploading or contributing to '''[[:Image:Activa01.jpg]]'''. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under [[Wikipedia:Fair use|fair use]] but there is no [[Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline|explanation or rationale]] as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the [[Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Fair use|boilerplate fair use template]], you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found [[WP:FURG|here]].

Please go to [[:Image:Activa01.jpg|the image description page]] and edit it to include a [[Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline |fair use rationale]]. Using one of the templates at [[Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline]] is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "[[Special:Contributions/{{PAGENAME}}|my contributions]]" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. ==Unspecified source for [[:Image:Activa88.jpg]]==

Thanks for uploading '''[[:Image:Activa88.jpg]]'''. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the [[copyright]] status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{Tl|GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the [[GFDL]]. If you believe the media meets the criteria at [[Wikipedia:Fair use]], use a tag such as {{tlp|non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at [[Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use]]. See [[Wikipedia:Image copyright tags]] for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following [{{fullurl:Special:Log|type=upload&user=Jamieli}} this link]. == Five Percenters ==

Hello--Discussion of [[The Nation of Gods and Earths]] came up at [[Wikipedia:Fringe_theories/Noticeboard#Nation_of_Gods_and_Earths]]. I don't particularly care about that, but out of curiosity followed the category and found lots of bios with the sub-categories [[:Category:Five Percenters]] and [[:Category:Former Five Percenters]]. Clicking on several of the bios there was no material in them to source the affiliation, which makes me think its a [[wp:blp]] problem. I removed the "former" tags from the few articles it was in, but then got lazy and don't want to undo something real. I'm wondering if you can clarify things. (I'll post this same message to [[User talk:ReverendG|ReverendG]] who also worked on the caegory page..) You've reached 3RR on Madonna. I notice you've been going through a few pop star pages recently; I think you ought to slow down and look at things a little more case by case (e.g. Madonna's business activities are well known). I should add that I'm not a Madonna fan, I just ended up watching the page after I was clearing up after a roaming vandal who had vandalised stuff I do actually care about. Revision as of 19:07, 19 August 2018

Jean-Éric Vergne, the current Drivers' Championship leader.

The 2017–18 Formula E season (known for commercial reasons as the 2017–18 ABB FIA Formula E season)[1] is the fourth season of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Formula E motor racing. It features the 2017–18 ABB FIA Formula E Championship, a motor racing championship for open-wheel electric racing cars, recognised by FIA, the sport's governing body, as the highest class of competition for electrically powered vehicles. Twenty drivers representing ten teams will contest twelve ePrix, which started in Hong Kong on 2 December 2017 and will end on 15 July 2018 in New York City as they compete for the Drivers' and Teams' Championships.

Lucas di Grassi is the defending Drivers' Champion after securing his first title at the 2017 Montreal ePrix. Renault e.Dams began the season as the defending Teams' Champion, having clinched its third consecutive accolade at the same event.

After six rounds, Jean-Éric Vergne leads the Drivers' Championship with 109 points, with Felix Rosenqvist in second with 79 points, and Sam Bird in third with 76 points. Techeetah currently lead the Teams' Championship, ahead of Mahindra Racing and DS Virgin Racing.

Team changes

Name Changes

The official entry list for the 2017–18 season contained a number of name changes for the teams. These were:[18]

Driver changes

Joining Formula E

Changing teams

Mid-season changes

After just one weekend in Hong Kong, Dragon Racing driver Neel Jani left the team in order to focus on his upcoming World Endurance Championship campaign. He was replaced by former DS Virgin Racing driver José María López.[7]

For the first weekend in Hong Kong, Kamui Kobayashi was brought by MS&AD Andretti to satisfy sponsors.[21] Tom Blomqvist however, took over that car after and is expected to race the majority of remaining races.

Edoardo Mortara is expected to miss the Berlin, and potentially the finale in New York round due to DTM commitments with Mercedes.

Rule changes

  • The maximum power usage during the race was increased from 170 kW to 180 kW.[22]
  • A point for the fastest lap will be restricted to drivers finishing in the top 10, ending the incentive for drivers with damaged cars or placed outside points positions to switch cars to get fastest lap with no intent of finishing the race.

Calendar

In May 2017, a provisional calendar for the 2017–18 season was circulated.[23] In September, the full calendar was announced. This calendar included new races in Santiago, São Paulo, Rome and Zürich, the latter of which will mark the first time since 1955 a motorsports circuit race will be held in Switzerland.[24] The Buenos Aires round was discontinued, whilst the Monaco round will not be held due to the Historic Grand Prix of Monaco taking place in 2018. Later that year, on 30 November, it was announced that the São Paulo race would postponed until 2019, with a race elsewhere to replace it in the schedule.[25] It was later announced that Punta del Este in Uruguay, which had been on the schedule for seasons 1 and 2, would be returning in place of São Paulo.[26] On 18 December 2017 the Montreal ePrix was cancelled with the Mayor of Montreal citing rising costs to the taxpayer.[27] On 18 January 2018, it was announced the ePrix would not be replaced, thus decreasing the calendar to twelve rounds.[28]
