Giridhar Madras is an Indian chemical engineer and was a professor at the Indian Institute of Science[1] where he received a Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in 2009[2] but after a harassment complaint filed by a doctoral student advised by him and subsequent investigation by the institute’s internal complaints committee, the IISc governing council asked him to seek “compulsory retirement” in October 2018.[3][4][5][6][7].
