Randall Schweller (filter log)
Description
The original article implies that neoclassical realism is distinct from structural realism, but it is more accurate to think of the former as a sub-category of the latter. Some of Schweller's work (especially that discussed in the 4th paragraph) is clearly neoclassical in its primary focus, but balance of interest theory (discussed in the paragraph i was editing) is inarguably within the structural realism paradigm, and far more closely aligned with offensive realism (which Schweller's work probably had a profound influence on).

And for the record, I have a Ph.D. in this topic, and was reading Schweller as part of preparation for a course I am teaching on Structural Realism. The only way I could be more constructive if is I was Dr. Schweller's publicist 8D

  • Not done – The filter is working properly. Filter 491 (the one that warned you) is working properly - why do you want to add !!!!!!!!!!!? -- DannyS712 (talk) 08:18, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not done though a change to the filter may be needed. But, I'm not sure why filter 384 (the one that disallowed you) was tripped -- DannyS712 (talk) 08:19, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rite Aid (filter log)
Description
I was adding a lawsuit to the litigation section
Date and time

Question: It looks like you were adding text copied from here. Granted that's a government site, but the copyright of that text still belongs to Rite Aid, yes? Even if SEC filings are public domain, it's still a statement made by Rite Aid, so we can't repeat it in Wikipedia's voice, at least not without reliable, secondary sources. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 19:59, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I am adding litigation from the SEC documents, but trying to edit it down to include strictly factual information about the lawsuits and not in the Rite Aid voice. Maybe this is an issue with my process - which was to copy a large section over, save it immediately, and then edit it down to remove opinions (ie, "We will defend this vigorously...."), leaving just the facts around what the litigation entailed and relevant dates. I was under the impression that SEC filings would be considered primary sources and not require secondary sources since - if a company states a lie or gets their facts wrong - they are subject to severe penalties from the SEC and open to lawsuits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.91.192.128 (talk) 20:09, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The filter hit is actually a false positive (there is a phrase in your edit that's coincidentally popular with a long-term abusive user). The normal process here is just to have another user make the edit for you, but in this case, I'm concerned that the copyright probably still belongs Rite Aid, which means the material shouldn't be saved anywhere on Wikipedia (not even talk pages or sandboxes), even if it's going to be reworded later. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 20:24, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's my understanding that SEC filings are public documents, although I cannot find a citation to prove that. How about this: when I tried to save the text I had three paragraphs of exact copy from the document. Instead, I will edit the copy down to include just basic facts around the case and then save. I'll keep it minimal so even if there is a copyright, it would fall under the "fair use" doctrine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.91.192.128 (talk) 20:32, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If it's kept short and attributed correctly (e.g: In SEC filing blah, Rite Aid reported "blah blah blah" etc.), that should be fine wrt copyright. If the filter stops you again, come back here, though if you don't include secondary sources, I'll probably just propose the edit on the article talk page instead. The problem with primary-sourced content is it's hard to for non-experts like me to tell what's relevant and what isn't, or if the material has even been interpreted correctly. You could try to convince me here, of course, but that won't help the next reader of the page. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 21:30, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I'll do my best.

Charles Fitzpatrick (filter log)
Description
1. I added the subject's specific burial location, with a source citation (it was from BillionGraves; however, it includes multiple photos of the tombstone). 2. I removed the religion parameter from the Officeholder Infobox, as its inclusion always triggers an error warning. 3. What might have been problematic was that I added multiple external links, although all relevant. I mentioned this in my edit summary and advised other editors to feel free to remove any of them if they were excessive.

I tried to add Duck, You Sucker! which is a Techniscope film, per that article's Filming section, which claims that it was "one of the last mainstream films shot in Techniscope", and has a citation. Could there be a problem with the word "sucker", do you think?

@Silenttim: I've removed the whole section, which was recently added by another user. Controversial information about living people, whether wrapped in euphemisms or not, needs to be cited to more than just a single opinion column in a student newspaper.
