Your GA nomination of Addison's disease

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Addison's disease you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Dino245 -- Dino245 (talk) 18:40, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at User talk:Begoon. Such edits are disruptive, and may appear to other editors to be vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Begoon 03:39, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion tagging

Information iconAfter the discussion we had at my talk page I'm astonished that you inappropriately tagged Draft:Mint Mobile with CSD G1 when it clearly did not apply. Please stop adding any kind of deletion tag to any page until you are familiar with, and properly understand, the criteria. Inappropriately tagging for deletion is disruptive. Please read WP:BITE. -- Begoon 00:17, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Chad

Considering the amount of time and effort you must have spent on this edit, may I assume that you actually believe the country's name is "Chard"? Please be more careful...for your own sake. WQUlrich (talk) 02:09, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

WQUlrich It wasn't my edit, it was from someone else in my house. Sorry. Dino245 (talk) 02:44, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Wow! Don't worry, that's what reviewing is for. WQUlrich (talk) 02:46, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not Wow! Don't worry at all. You should worry a lot about this kind of thing. Accounts aren't to be shared among different people as explained in WP:SHAREDACCOUNT. Moreover, any edits (good or bad) made with this account are going to be attributed to this account, not the person making them; so, if someone else besides you uses this account to make problematic edits, trying to argue WP:BROTHER is not going to help you at all. It's your responsibility to secure your account and make sure that nobody else is using it; if you believe your account has been compromised, then let an administrator know asap and they will block the account as a precaution.
As for your Teahouse question about cancelling a username change request, perhaps you can send an email to the address given in meta:GRP#Requesting a global rename explaining the you'd like to cancel a previously made request. If you use the "wiki email form" and have your email preferences enabled, you can send an email from your Wikipedia account. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:12, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed; do not allow other people access to your account. If you left your account open and unsecured on a computer and someone else used it, or if others have the password to it, it will need to be blocked. 331dot (talk) 10:17, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The offical Huggle Poster

Please explain. El_C 03:43, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Presumably in response to me undoing a template warning they placed on a talkpage - which, in retrospect, was my error; I hadn't realized that ForeiignOrange had been messing with that article for some while. I unwisely shot from the hip after seeing an over-eager newbie leaving summaries like "stop adding unsourced content or I'll protect the page and/or block you". - Still it doesn't fill me with confidence to see that the reaction to a criticism of template-bombing is to template-bomb me. Please slow down dude. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 16:09, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, okay. I thought maybe the account was compromised again and was this close to indef block out of an abundance of caution, but in the end thought better of it. El_C 17:13, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

GA nomination of Addison's disease

Dino245, you nominated Addison's disease for Good Article status, and then opened the review yourself. As was noted on that page before it was deleted, nominators may not review their own nominations; the reviewer must be someone other than the nominator who has also not made significant contributions to the article. You may want to check the information at the GA nomination instructions page for how the process works. A reviewer will be along at some point to undertake the assessment as to whether the article meets the criteria, at which point you'll be expected to address any issues that are raised. Best of luck going forward. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:47, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dino245! You created a thread called Why are all of the admins so unfriendly? at Wikipedia:Teahouse, but it has been archived because there was no discussion for a few days. You can still find the archived discussion here. If you have any additional questions that weren't answered then, please create a new thread.

Hi there. A user came onto IRC to ask that Lakers-Rockets brawl be given an article assessment which I did. I also saw that it'd had a contest deletion based on a tag you'd placed for G1. I can't tell, from looking at the diff what was wrong but the talk page dialogue seems to indicate that the links in the article were all wrong or bad. Was this case? Or was something else afoot because I'm not seeing anything close to G1 and would love to understand your thinking better. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 21:24, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

RFA

Dino245, I'm sure you meant well, but I have no interest in running an RFA at this time. It would probably have been better if you'd contacted me before creating the page, because I could have saved you any trouble and effort. I notice that you have also created Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Dino245; whilst it is good that you are keen to help, I don't advise pursuing that at this time either - you should probably read WP:NOTNOW. Thanks. -- Begoon 01:48, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Begoon I created Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Dino245 accidentally. Sorry Dino245 (talk) 02:39, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Did you want the accidentally-created page deleted? Useight (talk) 03:51, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
User:Useight Yes please Dino245 (talk) 14:06, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
 Done. El_C 14:33, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Begoon, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Begoon and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Begoon during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Barkeep49 (talk) 01:56, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain this before resuming vandalism patrol

What is with this AIV report (and the warning you gave them on their user page)? They've done nothing except leave an AGF userbox on their user page.

I'm concerned that you do not have enough experience to be making GA nominations and patrolling for vandalism. This is not you first problem; I see a lot of issues above here. I think we need to iron this out first, and there needs to be some agreement on your part to be more careful, before you resume this kind of work. Warning a new editor like that is a good way to lose a potential future contributor. --Floquenbeam (talk) 17:05, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Let me affirm that I have been waiting for some response to my section above as bad speedy tags is an issue for someone doing vandalism patrol for many of the same reasons Floq stated. I would like to echo the part where they state that we should iron these out. I see no reason to think you are not a contributor in good faith now and so just as we don't want to drive out potential contributors we don't want to drive you out.
