Shannara task force

[edit]
Hi! I saw that you were a very helpful member on the Shannara WikiProject at one point in time....so would you like to come and help me out at the Shannara task force? (this is what the WikiProject became). I can't go it alone!!! See Portal: Shannara...that took me for EVER. =) Thank you in advance!

the_ed17 07:40, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure you'll be able to pick the commands etc. again quickly. Thank you for helping! =) I have to go to college this fall too, so I know what you're talking about. What college are you going to?
Also, take a look at The Sword of Shannara--it's a good article nominee!! It's come so far, hasn't it? the_ed17 13:05, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
See this link for pictures about Sword, Elfstones, and First King--we will have to non-free tag them, as I e-mailed the artist and (understandably) he didn't want to release them into the public domain...and it's not like we've got any alternatives elsewhere on the web. =( the_ed17 14:24, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(Sorry it took me so long to reply...I didn't see your message, thought the 'new messages' tab was the Signpost) Good luck with your transfer program...very ambitious. I'm just going to try to be a high school social studies teacher with a minor in history at NMU. the_ed17 01:19, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

about MAG: Massive Action Game

[edit]

Hello! I need some help. I have multiple sources that state that the name for the game is "MAG: Massive Action Game". I tried moving the article to a new name, but it seems to be protected from doing that. I know that i can request it to be unprotected, but i'd rather have the power of a consensus behind me first. Can you please check out the Massive Action Game talk page so we can form that consensus? Thanks! dposse (talk) 14:01, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Calling all active WP:NOVELS members

[edit]
WikiProject Novels Roll Call

WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Your username is listed on the members list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active within the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:Novels editor, please add your name back to the Active Members list. Also feel free to join any of our task forces and take a look at the project's Job Centre to get involved!

Next month we will begin the coordinator election selection process. We hope to have more involvement and input this time around! More news will be forthcoming. Thanks, everyone! María (habla conmigo) 18:47, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of Portal:Shannara

[edit]

Portal:Shannara, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Shannara (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Portal:Shannara during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 20:18, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:RecWar main.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:RecWar main.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:30, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Minor Dwarves in Shannara has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no assertion of notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:CSS courtyard.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:CSS courtyard.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 20:36, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Druid of Shannara.gif

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Druid of Shannara.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:07, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
