Could you restore the original CKD Galbraith article from Oct 5 and either put it on its page, on back on the userpage of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:GMcQ that user's page seemed have disappeared. Hackbinary (talk) 15:44, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't quite understand your reasoning for wanting the deletion of my page? Speedy deletion of Seeks

[edit]

Hi The Elves Of Dunsimore, just to let you know that I've declined speedy deletion of Seeks. Let me know if you see a problem with this. Thanks. Beniz (talk) 09:47, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, sorry for removing the tag myself, no intention to do bad here. Now the page has been deleted ? I can't find the discussion page, I had indicated the engine was being used by Ubuntu France with more than 4M users... Is there any way to contest deletion ? Thanks. Speedy deletion of TheGATE.ca

[edit]

How do contestations of speedy deletions get handled? No one else has weighed in on TheGATE.ca and I would like to know what happens next. Any suggestions? Dustyweasel (talk) 03:03, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info and tips. I'll see if I can improve the page more for notability. Dustyweasel (talk) 11:52, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Reggie Aqui

[edit]

Hello The Elves Of Dunsimore, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Reggie Aqui, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Contains sufficient content to be a stub. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 11:48, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for patrollig new pages. Before tagging new pages that are probably still under construction, please take a moment to check for possible references in Google - it may well turn out that this article will meet our criteria for inclusion. Please also read WP:NPP to see the other tasks you should also be preferably be doing to help these new articles on their way, and don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page if you need help in understanding anything at NPP. happy editing! --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:47, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello The Elves Of Dunsimore. Thanks for the speedy deletion work you are doing; it's a very important activity! I did want to let you know, though, regarding Bangladeshi Poets in Facebook, that current consensus holds that it is bad practice to tag articles for speedy deletion as lacking context (CSD A1) or content (CSD A3) moments after creation, as users may be actively working on the article content. Ten to fifteen minutes is considered a good time to wait before tagging such articles under either of these criteria. Please note that before an appropriate waiting period is over, the articles should not be marked as patrolled, so that the wait does not result in the article escaping review at a later time. Nothing here is meant to apply to any other criterion; attack pages and copyright violations especially should be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks.

Speedy deletion contested: Bookatable

[edit]

Hello The Elves Of Dunsimore, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Bookatable, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Logan Talk Contributions 01:21, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

hi Logan, no problem with the decline, when i tagged it (about 12 hours after creation) it didnt have the refs it does now. cheers -- The Elves Of Dunsimore (talk) 01:59, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Yong Hwa Salido has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Altered speedy deletion rationale: Meep Sheep is the best vandal

[edit]

Hello The Elves Of Dunsimore. I am just letting you know that I deleted Meep Sheep is the best vandal, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you.   -- Lear's Fool 02:40, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

FYI...I removed the speedy deletion tag you placed on The Unbeatable Maze Game. You tagged it for A1 CSD, but that is not applicable. A1 is for articles with insufficient context. The context is clear, but it's just not notable. The article is already PRODed. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 02:49, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

BLP PROD

[edit]

Hi there, I've removed the BLP PROD tag that you placed on Gaurav kapoor because the article had references that supported some of the claims made in the article. To quote from WP:BLPPROD, "To place a BLPPROD tag, the process requires that the article contain no sources, whether reliable or not, and in any form (references, external links, etc.), which support any statements made about the person in the biography". This is an easy thing to misunderstand at first (I know I did!) and you are of course free to use a regular PROD or send the article to AfD if you believe the subject to be non-notable. Jenks24 (talk) 08:10, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the change of my article creating status (I hope it was changed as the articles were fine and not that all the bacterial articles were so utterly boring that nobody wanted to check them). Just pulling your leg. Keep up the good work. --Squidonius (talk) 08:59, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Attack pages

[edit]

When an unsourced page makes claims that its subject is a wanted criminal for raping men, that is a blatant attack page and needs to be blanked immediately and replaced with {{db-attack|blanked=yes}}. This prevents Google's searchbot from indexing the content. Thanks! Reaper Eternal (talk) 01:32, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! It's probably not a good idea to add citations to articles that are just mirrors of Wikipedia content, as you did here. The article is a hoax and the references were mirrors of Utilitarianism, where the hoax had been repeated. No harm done - just wanted you to be aware of it. Hi. Could you be so kind to explain the reasons for deletion of Drug2Gene wiki page. I think this is a good free biological database which offers interesting information for the scientific community. There are references for the main source used in Drug2Gene. So please remove the fast deletion message from the Drug2Gene database.

for something to have a wikipedia article it really needs to be notable as defined here which is established by providing reliable sources which are defined here. hope that helps. -- The Elves Of Dunsimore (talk) 08:34, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Screencast for new NPP tool design?

[edit]

Hello. This is Ian Baker. I'm a developer over at the Wikimedia Foundation.

tl;dr: We’re designing a much-improved UI for NPP tools, and we’re seeking guidance—and hopefully, screencasts of your NPP workflow—from expert New Page Patrollers like yourself. We’re asking for this so we can see (literally) what actions you take during patrolling which could be better supported through software.

I'm contacting you because, according to our statistics, you're a particularly active New Page Patroller on the English Wikipedia. Here at the WMF, we're working on a design for a much-improved NPP user interface. We hope that it will (as part of a larger strategy) address many outstanding issues in the article creation process, while also providing a more modern, streamlined and efficient UX for patrollers.

To do this successfully, we are relying upon the guidance of our most experienced patrollers. I'm sending this message to the ten most prolific patrollers in 2011, and a few other people who've been participating actively in this discussion.

Specifically, I'm hoping you can take a few minutes to record a screencast of yourself doing NPP. We're looking for a 10-15 minute session, but more is okay if you feel it's needed. Ideally, you'd first walk us through your process, explaining as you go, and then switch to doing NPP at your usual pace.

Our preliminary examination of this feature has shown that many experienced patrollers have evolved their own specially-tailored interface and workflow, often using external tools and plugins. Making an interface that works well will require understanding those tools and the motivation for using them. However, even if you haven't done that, observing your NPP technique will still be valuable, giving us insights into what factors inform your judgement, how you use the existing interface, and how long NPP generally takes an expert patroller such as yourself.

If you'd like to help, great! I've posted a set of instructions over at the relevant thread on the Article Creation Workflow talk page, which should get you everything you need to know. If something's missing or you have a question, post it there. That's also the place to go if you want to learn more about the reasoning behind this request.

I understand that people have differing expectations of privacy with regard to their own computer and voice. Therefore, you can either post this screencast publicly (place a link in the talk page above) or if you'd prefer, send it to me privately at ian@wikimedia.org.

Of course, any other input on this feature that you’d like to provide is also welcome. Don't hesitate to get involved in the discussion on the above-linked talk page, or contact me personally. I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks! raindrift (talk) 00:21, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Stubs (a curious user asking questions)

[edit]

I see your point-sort of, I guess. (Though I've created this account a while back, I haven't been editing a lot on Wikipedia.) I noticed a lot of articles, when first created, start off in a formation like the one I created and they didn't get deleted. Examples I noticed were: Nitrome, Storm Hawks, Team Galaxy. If those pages can stay, how come Neutronized cannot? Random-StoryKeeper 06:15, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

All right

[edit]

I see. Since Neutronized is a relatively new website, there is not much to say about it, so it would have to wait a little longer until the page can be created again. So reviews (like ones on JayisGames) and website articles on some of their games would not count? Random-StoryKeeper 07:11, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrolling

[edit]

Hi. I see you passed Institute of Sensory Organs as patrolled. Perhaps you did not notice that the article is completely unreferenced. Please be sure to place a {{noref}} tag on the top of such articles. You should also consider doing a quick research for reliable sources in your favourite search engine - you may find that the article needs a CSD or a PROD tag. Thanks. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:41, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrolling

[edit]

Hi. I see you passed Galerie Patrick Seguin as patrolled. Perhaps you did not notice that the article only has primary sources and does not demonstrate importance among the hundreds (maybe thousands) of galleries in Paris. Please return to the article and see how it has now been tagged. Thanks. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:53, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
