confusing stats

the sidebar shows these stats: NFL Draft: 1987 / Round: 1 / Pick: 26 Debuted in 1983 for the Chicago Bears

But how could he have debuted in 1983, if he was drafted in 1987? One of them is wrong. Unfortunately I don't know anything about the guy so I don't know which to change. Any one else know which it is?Rhodesisland (talk) 08:56, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good find. He debuted in 1987, of course. —bender235 (talk) 13:16, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled

Anyone know about his coaching style; the Cardinal faithful would be interested in that.

Edit request from 68.40.184.15, 7 January 2011

{{edit semi-protected}} Jim Harbaugh will coach at the University of Michigan in 2011. Guaranteed.

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Salvio Let's talk about it! 14:08, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think the San Francisco 49ers and Brady Hoke would beg to differ. OCNative (talk) 21:41, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Photo update needed

Could someone add a photo of Coach Harbaugh that is a bit more recent? He's been coaching the 49ers for three years and we still have him with a Stanford cap. Thanks. Jusdafax 22:50, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The official University of Michigan social media office, in partnership with Michigan Athletics would like to update the image effective immediately. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UMSocial (talkcontribs) 17:48, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Restricting Opposing Team Tickets for Upcoming Playoff Games

I just listened to Jim Harbaugh telling the public he agreed with the announcements by Denver and Seatle to restrict sales of tickets for upcoming games. All I can say to Denver and Seatle, and to Jim Harbaugh, is I sincerely hope the football fans express their displeasure with these new ticket practices by boycotting the upcoming games. And if the fans are smart, they will begin boycotting all professional sports games where these practices are accepted. Is this practice a sign of the idea of sportsmanship and the message we want to send to our children. This really seems to be a form of bullying. Pro sports is already getting a bad name for bullying. Maybe this is just starting to show what these sports have become. Shame on all of you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.62.173.152 (talk) 02:22, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Coaching Future

Until the announcement on likely Tuesday, just put in-on December 27, Bleacher Report and the New York Times reported that Harbaugh would be accepting an offer to become the next head coach of Michigan Football. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samuelmarcus99 (talkcontribs) 06:21, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

On December 30, 2014, Michigan held a news conference announcing Jim Harbaugh as the University's head football coach. Mcconnellsc58 (talk) 18:49, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

News conference is scheduled and pending, but it has not occurred yet. You can't put a news conference in the past tense ('held') when it is being held on the day after you insinuate it has already occurred. Marcyu--Marc Yu 14:24, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

do we change the infobox if/when he's officially Michigan's coach?

Should we have a college coach infobox ready to prevent a rush of people simply adding Michigan to his current infobox? - MichiganCharms (talk) 20:30, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The current one (NFL player) would seem more appropriate still, as it highlights both his coaching and playing careers. The head coaching record portion at the end should be changed to include his college coaching record though. -- Calidum 20:49, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I dislike the NFL player infobox because it lacks a satisfactory field for coaching records at both levels (having only regular season and playoff record fields). Steve Spurrier has a similar background as a player and coach and the college coach infobox suffices. -- MichiganCharms (talk) 00:54, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I also agree that the college coach infobox is a better fit here. Perhaps we can modify the college coach infobox to contain draft infomation and professional stats? DMC511 17:12, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
I don't see what it omits other than trivia like him being in the Colts Ring of Honor, which are better suited for the article's body. I'd argue that Harbaugh is far better known as a coach than he was as a player at this point, and his reputation is unlikely to swing in the other direction. But consensus is as consensus does. -- MichiganCharms (talk) 07:32, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It will have to be changed back once he is no longer a coach, right. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 00:57, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New NEWS today, (before Supreme Court)

Why was he there?

Headline-1: Jim Harbaugh Huddles With the Supreme Court

QUOTE: "He gave Justice Elena Kagan his heavily underlined book about legendary Alabama coach Bear Bryant. She then asked him to sign it. Harbaugh also sat down in the office of Chief Justice John Roberts. “He showed me the Declaration of Independence written in stone,” he said. “Very memorable.”" -- AstroU (talk) 14:38, 5 August 2015 (UTC) -- PS: FYI for future editing.[reply]

Apparently, he just wanted to take the tour and visit with the justices. He wants Judge Judy on the court. Read the article and that is all there is. Also read Sports Illustrated on this. Do a Google-search. -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 17:06, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox Redux

I don't want to be overly bold, but I really do think this should be addressed: the player infobox has no fields for his college coaching record. Would anyone support a compromise where we place the NFL player infobox in the section on his playing career and then place the college coach infobox at the top? Or a move to the NFL coach infobox which does contain fields for college coaching? -- MichiganCharms (talk) 15:19, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this definitely needs to be fixed. At least have separate boxes for pro and college, but in any event, his college record must be there. 2602:306:CFEA:170:8DC7:6904:8378:D763 (talk) 22:57, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Question Regarding Info Box

How come for people like Jim Harbaugh, Chip Kelly, and Herm Edwards we use an NFL-esque Infobox where with Lane Kiffin and Lovie Smith we use a college/college-coach style one? Shouldn't there be some consistency? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:304:CD8B:4360:6105:B6A2:E36E:5114 (talk) 19:48, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Questionable sentence under 2014 section

The text states "the 49ers returned to their losing ways". Questionable wording 35.3.38.200 (talk) 04:58, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus

This change has been proposed again today, I went with the previous descion to refuse it but could someone confirm and can we reach a consensus? Thanks, RhinosF1 (talk) 17:53, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Big Ten Conference had this news release in November: "Michigan Earns Share of East Division Title." Even without it, the fact remains that the 2018 Michigan team was tied for first in the Big Ten East. Arbor to SJ (talk) 20:48, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Arbor to SJ, changed it back to T–1 with source. Michigan finished tied for first in the division. The fact that the conference has additional tiebreakers in place to determine its championship game participants is not relevant. Ostealthy (talk) 22:38, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy

He deserves atleast a controversy tab at this point 2603:6010:A140:7D:BCFF:D8E7:CA13:EF46 (talk) 00:00, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Locked for some reason

He did not win the big ten east in 2018. This is either vandalism or an error. Regardless, its locked. 2603:6010:A140:7D:4043:A646:175:DDA0 (talk) 19:49, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ohio State and Michigan were co-champions in 2018. See 2018 Big Ten Conference football season. --Spiffy sperry (talk) 12:43, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes he did win the Big Ten East in 2018. It was shared with Ohio State, and since Ohio State won the head to head matchup , OSU got to go to the Big Ten Championship Game. Like 2021, when Mich and OSU shared the East championship, but Mich won head to head, so Mich got to go to the Big Ten Championship game. 96.29.177.138 (talk) 21:50, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Need to add a controversy tab

He has had so many documented controversies at this point i cant count them 2603:6010:A140:7D:F537:2CDD:AC79:CC19 (talk) 04:42, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your info is wrong.

I tried to fix ypir wrong info and someone who apparentOh doesn't know about the fact that Jim Barbarity DOESN'T get credit for the win on Sept 2, 2023 because he was SUSPENDED. Jesse Minded gets credit for the win. When you change info back and it is wrong, you add to the reputation of Wikipedia not being reliable. And if Wikipedia doesn't take new info or correct info, even though anyone is supposed to be able to provide info, then allowing people to add info without an account or without being signed in shouldn't be allowed. 96.29.177.138 (talk) 21:46, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
