[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Cartography of Palestine, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. MacAddct1984 (talk | contribs) 12:43, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi - I did not add original research. The article equates the mapping of the Holy land and the mapping of Palestine which are not the same thing. My edits are editing original research and it needs to be more accurate. Raconcilio (talk) 12:47, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Cartography of Palestine. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. MacAddct1984 (talk | contribs) 12:51, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- Apologies. Here is a reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_name_Palestine#:~:text=8%20External%20links-,Etymological%20considerations,in%20the%205th%20century%20BCE. Raconcilio (talk) 12:55, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Cartography of Palestine, you may be blocked from editing. Adakiko (talk) 13:06, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
The first citation explicitly states "cartography of the Holy Land". Adakiko (talk) 13:08, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
Please note that Wikipedia is not a wp:reliable source. See wp:Circular Adakiko (talk) 13:09, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- No, there is no reference for these being the same thing. It needs to be removed. Raconcilio (talk) 13:14, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
It is not the same thing to map the Holy land and map Palestine
[edit]The Holy Land and Israel are separate maps. Palestian maps have included areas formerly known as Judea and presentely/formerly known as Israel but it is false to imply that it was or has been a country with borders.
The other author will not allow giving background to the name of Palestine which was referring to Israelites.
The opposing author is trying to erase Jewish history here as well as ignoring that these things are separate. Raconcilio (talk) 13:11, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- The sources would suggest otherwise. Adakiko (talk) 13:13, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Adakiko - Politically, it is easy to see that the mapping of these areas is different. There is political mapping of the area for reign of different empires, but also separately mapping the Holy Land, and also Israel. They are not the same thing. It should not be written as being the same. Raconcilio (talk) 13:13, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
Notice of edit warring
[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Cartography of Palestine. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Adakiko (talk) 13:12, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

China/Israel
[edit]I highly advise you to self revert your edit and handle this issue on the existing article, there isn't enough content for a standalone article on how China draws its maps of Israel. 331dot (talk) 10:09, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- Ok. Updated. Let me know if it's sufficient. Raconcilio (talk) 11:45, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
Be very aware of the special rules regarding edits about Israel above. 331dot (talk) 10:10, 26 November 2023 (UTC)

[edit]If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing blocks (specifically this section) before appealing. Place the following on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Please copy my appeal to the [[WP:AE|arbitration enforcement noticeboard]] or [[WP:AN|administrators' noticeboard]]. Your reason here OR place the reason below this template. ~~~~}}
. If you intend to appeal on the arbitration enforcement noticeboard, I suggest you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template on your talk page so it can be copied over easily. You may also appeal directly to me (by email), before or instead of appealing on your talk page.
Reminder to administrators: In May 2014, ArbCom adopted the following procedure instructing administrators regarding Arbitration Enforcement blocks: "No administrator may modify a sanction placed by another administrator without: (1) the explicit prior affirmative consent of the enforcing administrator; or (2) prior affirmative agreement for the modification at (a) AE or (b) AN or (c) ARCA (see "Important notes" [in the procedure]). Administrators modifying sanctions out of process may at the discretion of the committee be desysopped."

For the last few weeks, I've been tying to disspell propoganda and misinformaiton that is on Wikipedia that's lead to the hate of Jewish people around the world. This does not mean I should be banned especially if I do not have relevant context for other topics. Wikipedia should be a place to gather knowledge,not suppress it and in critical times, exceptions should and can be made. If the board askes that I not post anymore until 30 days then that is fine but please also provide a better way to balance the power of users who knock down misinformation. Twice now I have tried to help clarify that Free Paletine has also meant to create Israel but users prefer to suppress neutral content and have me blocked instead of take cae of wikipedia. If this is the way you want to run wikipedia, it won't survive... - There's no meaningful chance this would succeed and it would be a complete waste of time to copy this across. --Yamla (talk) 20:33, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
- That does not make coherent sense. Please re-write. Raconcilio (talk) 20:48, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
- Your request, as written above, has no chance of resulting in your block being lifted. Copying your request to the appropriate noticeboard, as you've asked, would therefore be a deliberate waste of time. --Yamla (talk) 20:50, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

- This request will get denied because you didn't make it in accordance with the guide to appealing blocks. If you want to help change that article for the better, you'll remove this, read that guide, and make another request that explains how you broke the rules and what you'll do going forward to make sure you remain compliant with policy. If instead you persist in blaming others, arguing about the content, and claiming you've done nothing wrong, it's because you think everything you've done to the Free Palestine (phrase) article has been bad and that the article is better off without your input. You might be right that Wikipedia "won't survive" but until then, a vast majority of internet users trying to find information about the phrase "Free Palestine" will end up here. What you do now will determine whether or not you want to share what you know with those countless readers. City of Silver 00:10, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
