Date of birth?

[edit]

Hi, where does this date of birth come from? this article says she was 64 when she died, which would mean 1955 or 1956 as year of birth. Thanks for clarification. --elya (talk) 17:13, 3 April 2020 (UTC) PS: Maybe Hemiauchenia can tell? It would be nice to have the reference, Google tells already 1960 and we do not have a source. Thanks --elya (talk) 17:41, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I put the date of birth as c. 1960, c. stands for circa it was never intended to be an accurate date I was estimating that she would have been around 20 when she graduated from university, feel free to update with a more accurate approximate date Hemiauchenia (talk) 17:46, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ok … I see. I'll change it, however I'm still not feeling well with the new "educated guess", I've written an email to the library in Durban today and asked for help with looking up her thesis. Maybe it can be found there. --elya (talk) 17:58, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The NYT obituary gives 8 April 1956; I've added that with a cite. Connormah (talk) 18:29, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh, thanks, you are my hero – it did not exist yesterday when I wrote my article in de.wp. --elya (talk) 18:37, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
