Paisley?

[edit]

She was born Sylvia Eileen Paisley; any kin to Ian and that lot? --Orange Mike 00:34, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Her maiden name has been commented on for this but no-one's mentioned any relation to the Ians Paisley. Timrollpickering 00:36, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is no relation at all between them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.154.21.66 (talk) 21:32, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like utter nonsense. Eileen Paisley indeed. Infantile humour most likely. Happy to be proved wrong mind you, Porthugh (talk) 07:54, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Her maiden name is Paisley, and she is no relation to Ian Paisley.Traditional unionist (talk) 23:30, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why Belfast?

[edit]

Why is she tagged as "within the scope of WikiProject Belfast"? She's never been the Member for Belfast, and not all of Norn Irn is within that project's purview (as I understand it). --Orange Mike 18:39, 12 March 2007 (UTC) (Never a unionist [in the Irish sense] despite the handle)[reply]

Not sure for the reasoning by whoever tagged it but off the top of my head:
Holywood (the western half of her constituency) is in the Greater Belfast area.
She is a former lecturer of Queen's University Belfast so has actually worked there.
Timrollpickering 18:59, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In fact having just looked at Belfast Metropolitan Area and Greater Belfast, almost all her constituency falls into the areas described there. I presume WikiProject Belfast is not limited to the formal boundaries of the city council. Timrollpickering 19:03, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I wasn't aware of just how far Greater Belfast has spread over the years. Thanx, Tim. --Orange Mike 19:35, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
