Founders

[edit]

Founders of CORE including George Houser and James Farmer have indicated in published sources that there were more than three original founders of CORE. The figure usually used is six. Some references added to primary article. Fisher, Frank (talk) 15:59, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Frank Fisher[reply]

possible other founders of core? or some people?

[edit]

i took this sentence out:

The first group also included James R. Robinson, Homer A. Jack, and Joe Guinn.

because i can't tell what "the first group" refers to, and i don't have access to the sources right now to check. i'm guessing these were also original cofounders of core, but maybe they were JOR participants? perhaps someone with the sources might figure this out, although i'll try to get around to it as well.— alf.laylah.wa.laylah (talk) 18:08, 8 October 2011 (UTC)wazesxrdctfvybguhinjfhhensjsndnf.[reply]

overcitations

[edit]

i don't have access right now to these three items in the bibliography, or i would do this myself. if anyone has them (and i'll try to get them), maybe they could think about the two places in the article where these threee items are cited all in a row. it seems like it'd be better to break them up like one fact, one cite, so that the reader could figure out what came from where:

  • Fellowship magazine, Fellowship of Reconciliation, Spring, Summer and Winter 1992 issues.
  • "The Reminiscences of George Houser" (April 1999), Oral Histories, Oral History Collection, Columbia University
  • James Farmer, LAY BARE THE HEART: An Autobiography of the CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT, A Plume Book, New American Library, 1985
