Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on August 24, 2011.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that after killing a man in a duel over dogs, Captain James Macnamara asked naval officers including Viscounts Hood and Nelson, Lord Hotham, Sir Hyde Parker and Sir Thomas Troubridge, to testify on his behalf?

Doesn't make sense

[edit]

Fromm the lead: "He culminated his service in the Mediterranean with action at the Battle of Cape St Vincent ...". His service may have culminated in his action at the Battle of Cape St Vincent, whatever that might mean, but he couldn't have "culminated his service". Assessment

[edit]

I have assessed this article as "Start". There are some details such as birth date etc need to be found and referenced. An image of James Macnamara would be greatly improved. Adamdaley (talk) 06:28, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The absence of neither an image of the subject nor his exact birthdate are failing criteria on the B-class assessment of coverage or supporting materials. See for example Lord Henry Paulet for a GA class article which has neither. Benea (talk) 14:09, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for doing that Benea. Still an image of James Macnamara would be good and have his full birth date there. Adamdaley (talk) 14:03, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
