Mr. Holup (talk) 22:46, 9 July 2021 (UTC) It was not entirely clear to me, but one of the few images I could find of Ignacia, which was going to be used in an infobox, while being a government work, is still copyrighted, due to the (tbh archaic) copyright laws in Mexico, which state that it won't enter public domain until 2042.
I do have reason to believe that this image is acceptable under fair use, however, as it is plastered all over the internet, including in the video that inspired this article in the first place.
If such, it comes down to Wikipedia's own rules. They state that any image of someone who is deceased can be accepted as long as it is not reasonably possible to find a free similar image.
I understand that there probably are not any lawyers that will find this, but I am curious, which one takes precedent: US fair use law or Mexican lack thereof?[reply]
If no reply comes back before 9:00 AM (GMT), I will be uploading the picture tomorrow per WP:Be Bold.
