- ... that Wayne Jacobs said that without football he would have been “dead by 30, or in prison”? Source: https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/23163302.my-life-mess-football-saved--says-former-bradford-player/
5x expanded by EchetusXe (talk). Self-nominated at 21:36, 3 March 2024 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Wayne Jacobs; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- 5x expansion confirmed starting 3 March
- Readable prose is sufficient for inclusion on DYK, and article is sufficiently detailed on the subject
- Article is well-sourced, neutral and BLP compliant, and reliably sourced to a sufficient standard; many sourced are paywalled but the quick spot check of those I can access supports the article so AGF here
- Hook is cited to a reliable source, is interesting and is present in the article
- There are some possible copyvio incidents which have been flagged up through Earwig: see here
- QPQ competed
Some rewrites of the article to remove the copyvio issues are required to allow me to pass this, placing this on hold until then. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 10:05, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
- That site seems to be a Wikipedia-like sports project where an editor just copied the article as it was before I started the expansion. Before my expansion, a Wikipedia admin (User:GiantSnowman) wrote the article, so I'm sure he didn't copy anything from anywhere. EchetusXe 11:53, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
- Where is the alleged copyvio? GiantSnowman 12:01, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
- I assume this. EchetusXe 13:01, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
- OK that does appear to make quite a bit of sense. It does appear to be a word-for-word copy-paste job of this old version. Thank you for the explanation, happy to now pass this submission. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 11:42, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
