Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

1990s hacking
Happy first comment of the decade
Hi I saw your Hacking in the 1990s comment. What does data connection mean? Personisgaming (talk) 14:52, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Personisgaming, I translated your template from English (Template:Hacking in the 1990s) to Korean (ko:틀:1990년대 해킹) These two templates are now associated together with Wikidata, a Wikimedia project that manages interlanguage links. Thanks. --ted (talk) 15:03, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
Collapsible Sidebar
Hi! I liked your CollapsibleSidebar Gadget on koWP and have recently activated it for me on deWP. Thanks a lot! However, in deWP (and other projects using FlaggedRevs) there is also an mw-data-after-content element, which should be aligned with the content. Therefore, I have now made a local userspace copy of the gadget (de:Benutzer:XanonymusX/CollapsibleSidebar.js) with this addition. Since I would like to avoid spreading local copies of gadgets, I would suggest to add the mw-data-after-content to the original gadget (even if the element probably will never appear on koWP).
Another thing, more relevant for koWP: I noticed that the gadget sometimes conflicts with the toolbar of VisualEditor/NWE (the resizing appears to be broken and there is a chance of an overlay). Maybe there is a way to handle that toolbar as well? Best regards, XanonymusX (talk) 19:21, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hi XanonymusX, I added the mw-data-after-content element per your suggestion. I will have a look at the conflict with the VisualEditor/NWE soon. Thank you. --ted (talk) 01:54, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- @XanonymusX: Fixed the conflict with the NWE. Thanks. --ted (talk)
- Thank you! There is still a strange resizing problem with the VE/NWE toolbar: basically, if I open the editor and collapse the sidebar only afterwards, the toolbar will remember the previous window size (only when scrolling down [ve-ui-toolbar-floating], in top position the width is okay). This seems to change if I resize my browser window during editing. It is not much of a problem for editing, but maybe it could be handled somehow by the gadget. Best regards, XanonymusX (talk) 18:11, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- @XanonymusX: Fixed. Please let me know if the issue still persists. --ted (talk) 04:14, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for your effort! I’m afraid the problem still persists for me, the floating toolbar does not resize (except if I trigger it by manually resizing the browser window). In case it helps: I’m using Chromium on Win10. But as I said, it is not that much of a problem. Regards, XanonymusX (talk) 21:39, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

The article Tibero has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Apparently does not meet WP:NCORP, tagged as such since 2013.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:38, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

Special:WantedTemplates
Hi! Would it be possible for you to add
/* <nowiki> */
to the top and
/* </nowiki> */
to the bottom of User:Ykhwong/koLinks.js? By putting these tags inside of javascript comments, it won't impact the functionality of your script, but it will keep the backend software from transcluding Template:" + text.replace(/^틀:/, "") + ". You will know if the tags worked if Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:" + text.replace(/^틀:/, "") + " no longer shows your page. By fixing these, we can keep the number of entries in Special:WantedTemplates to a minimum. Thank you in advance for your help! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 14:48, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

Templates transclusion
Looking at your recent edits on the Ryzen articles, looks like I made the mistake of putting "Template:" after the double curly brackets, when the transclusion will work without them and therefore is unnecessary. It seems I forgot about this as the result of fatigue from hours and hours of work, copy pasting code, editing tables, etc.
Apologies in advance.

A tag has been placed on Category:Articles with faulty Musée d'Orsay identifiers indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! - @Liz: Just for a note: Wikipedia:Authority control/dashboard lists a link to the Category:Articles with faulty Musée d'Orsay identifiers along with Category:Articles with Musée d'Orsay identifiers populated by the Module:Authority control. However, the module exposes some technical issues when dealing with the Musée d'Orsay identifiers. In short, {{Pages with authority control identifiers}} is not working as expected on both categories. Let me do a bug report on Template talk:Authority control. --ted (talk) 01:49, 12 April 2023 (UTC)

Hello Ykhwong!
- The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
- We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
- Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
- Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
- If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.
Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!
