Jeezy has 2 children, not 3. He has a son who will be 25 this month, and he has a daughter who is 7. 2601:408:780:7600:ADA4:5E99:8E2F:6D7F (talk) 14:40, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

Lead sentence
hi @ChicagoWikiEditor are you able to share what led you to think it would be valuable to readers to remove "songwriter" from the article's lead sentence in this edit?
I ask this with the following in mind:
- It seems common for musicians' articles lead sentences to contain the same occupational information that is present in the infoboxes of said articles. See: James Taylor, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, and Paul Simon as examples.
- I think it's appropriate to assume that someone reading the first sentence of an article may not also read the infobox that accompanies said article. As such, I see value in the person's occupation(s) being present in both places.
Let me know what you think. I figure I'll add "songwriter" back to the lead sentence if I don't hear back from you in a week. Stussll (talk) 23:28, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Stussll: Hi, I had been purging many over-stuffed leads lately including some that added hobbies, less than notable roles, and even after career fame occupational roles. During that time I noticed many articles from musicians where "songwriter" is sometimes accompanied with rapper or singer and many times without, but generally always in the infobox. I understood it that songwriter is a different categorizing label when used in lead as there exist many notable music composers who write music for other artist and deserve the label, while others who only write or co-write lyrics for themselves do not. I did not see it as a controversial edit, it seems the addition is more like a filler, but if you are set on reverting it back, I will not dispute with it. - It's helps me to evolve as an editor to see the thinking behind an edit like this...I appreciate you taking the time to share it with me, @ChicagoWikiEditor.
I understood it that </nowiki>songwriter<nowiki> is a different categorizing label when used in lead as there exist many notable music composers who write music for other artist and deserve the label, while others who only write or co-write lyrics for themselves do not.
- I am not currently aware of a definition that disputes the above. Considering this, and me not yet finding a reliable source that cites Jeezy as explicitly writing music for other artists, I think it makes most sense to leave the edit you've made in tact. Stussll (talk) 02:39, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

- There were no sources for 4 children, but, I'm one of his biggest fans, he only has 3, and if he has 4, he has never mentioned it, so IDK where someone would've gotten that info. Just like I had to prove a million times his birthday was September 28th, and you guys had October 12th for the longest. 2601:408:C180:6A80:BDB1:D35E:2A98:F85A (talk) 01:48, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Jeezy has 3 children not 4. This has been started several times, and asked to be changed. Aren't you supposed to be a reputable site? He even just did an interview with Nia Long, and spoke about his THREE CHILDREN. He said his first born was a boy, and his other 2 were girls. 2601:408:C180:6A80:89B5:4A79:499E:57C0 (talk) 04:09, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

He reps atlanta and has his entire career, plus he spent a big chunk of his childhood in atlanta which is stated is his early life… so i believe his origin should be atlanta instead of hawkinsville. 2600:1700:1BFB:5010:49A6:5EAF:B245:C1F0 (talk) 03:54, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
