Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- Toad (Nintendo) (currently a redirect to Toad (Mario)) → Toad (Mario) (move · discuss) – The article was moved to the current title without discussion in April 2016 despite the most recent RM in 2015 being closed as "not moved". Video game characters are usually disambiguated by their primary series instead of their publisher company, even when frequently having cameo/crossover appearances, which Toad does not. - Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology → Dhirubhai Ambani University (move · discuss) – Name according to UGC - https://www.ugc.gov.in/universitydetails/Private_university_other?id=178L

- Personal relationships of James VI and I (currently a redirect to Sexuality of James VI and I) → Sexuality of James VI and I (move · discuss) – revised title better reflects the content of the article. This proposed renaming has been flagged on the article talk page since 25 June 2024 without comment/opposition. Atrapalhado (talk) 22:03, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Atrapalhado: You should be able to move this on your own. SilverLocust 💬 03:17, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- And Miss Reardon Drinks A Little (currently a redirect to And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little) → And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little (move · discuss) – New title will reflect the correct capitalization for a. — Paper Luigi T • C 03:40, 22 July 2024 (UTC)

- Micromeria douglasii → Clinopodium douglasii (currently a redirect back to Micromeria douglasii) (move · discuss) – Clinopodium douglasii better reflects the current taxonomic understanding of this species. This article title already exists as a redirect page to Micromeria douglasii, so page swap is required and I do not have admin rights to perform this. "Italic title" template will need to be included. I will revise and update article once the move is performed. Peter G Werner (talk) 19:16, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Peter G Werner This has been moved two times in the past so I suggest starting a requested move discussion to avoid issues. C F A 💬 00:28, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- JR Ritchie → J. R. Ritchie (currently a redirect back to JR Ritchie) (move · discuss) – This should be moved per MOS:INITS but it's occupied by a redirect and I don't know how to overcome that. Dennis C. Abrams (talk) 13:33, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Denniscabrams Per MOS:BIOEXCEPT an overwhelming majority of sources use "JR", as it's short for "Junior" not an initialism. --Ahecht (TALK

- Licania splendens (currently a redirect to Angelesia splendens) → Angelesia splendens (move · discuss) – Angelesia splendens is now the accepted name for the species per Plants of the World Online, the most widely accepted taxonomic database for naming issues like this Declangi (talk) 23:41, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Declangi, but it seems Licania splendens is the WP: COMMONNAME per sources. Maybe you need a community consensus. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 14:54, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- This is not the common name, rather simply that the taxonomy has been (very) recently updated and this and some other associated articles need updates to reflect the current status. older ≠ wiser 15:34, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

- Uma Musume Pretty Derby → Umamusume Pretty Derby (currently a redirect back to Uma Musume Pretty Derby) (move · discuss) – The official title of the project by Cygames (the owners of the IP) has been Umamusume: Pretty Derby since at least 2021 when the mobile game released, see this press note, and has been more obvious with the releases on the west, including (attaching official websites) Umamusume Party Dash and the mobile game. This could be disputed due to western anime databases (mainly ANN and MAL) listing it as Uma Musume, but it should follow the official one (Crunchyroll, the distributor for the anime, also calls it this way) Kanade2611 (talk) 18:05, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Kanade2611 Not necessarily the common name; I see both spellings used frequently. You can start a requested move discussion for non-uncontroversial requests by clicking the "Discuss" link next to your request. C F A 💬 22:48, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- Terrorist Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (currently a redirect to Terrorist tactics, techniques, and procedures) → Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (currently a redirect instead to Terrorist tactics, techniques, and procedures) (move · discuss) – article expanded to more general concept. currently existing redirect prevents move Tule-hog (talk) 11:36, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

- Agree Tule-hog (talk) 20:35, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- Also simply oppose. There are tactics, techniques and procedures involved in many activities. That's not what the article is about. — BarrelProof (talk) 14:42, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- TTPs is a term in security studies applied to a broader range of attackers than terrorists. See APTs comment. Work has already begun on the article to expand the scope (should the request wait until satisfactorily expanded?). Tule-hog (talk) 20:39, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- There are also non-attacking and non-security scenarios that involve tactics, techniques, and procedures. For example, political campaigns have tactics, techniques, and procedures. Nursing involves tactics, techniques, and procedures. Something is needed to identify a context. — BarrelProof (talk) 01:14, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- From what I've gathered, this is an acronym used specifically in security studies. Only references to the phrase TTP for nursing and politics I could find were in a military context. Tule-hog (talk) 02:34, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
