Hi, I don't know how much of a fan of ambient music or role-playing games you are, but I do know you have a few featured album articles under your belt, and I think that this could be my first featured article. I recently submitted it to peer review here, and any comments you have would be very much appreciated. Of course, if you would rather not comment, I don't mind, but I know how much help you have been with other articles myself and others have written. Thanks. J Milburn 20:03, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, thanks! J Milburn 20:23, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I already know Cricket02, and have come across the others at various times. I'll consider dropping them a line; thanks for the advice. If you are interested, I have submitted the article, and you can see the nomination here. J Milburn 20:44, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Deleted it now. No idea why I didn't do that in the first place. Thanks a lot for your comments, they are very much appreciated. J Milburn 21:09, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Backlog at WP:GAR

I have noticed that you are a frequent reviewer at that Good Articles project. good article reassessment is experiencing a considerable backlog problem. There are several articles dating from August that still have not generated enough discussion to close. Could you please take a look at the oldest articles and make some fresh comments on them? Please note that some of these have undergone signigicant changes since they first came to GA/R; please judge the article only on its merits as of its current version. If you reviewed an earlier version of any of these articles, please also consider re-reading them and either revise or endorse any earluer comments you have made. Thanks for your help with this! --Jayron32|talk|contribs 02:43, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LGBT WikiProject Newsletter

Delivered on 17:31, 11 October 2007 (UTC).

Hi. I suggest that you put <includeonly> and </includeonly> tags around your User:LuciferMorgan/Featured material page. This will stop your name from appearing twice in categories that those boxes put you in. After adding them, your subpage will look empty, but the userboxes will still appear on your main userpage. Thanks for your time. --Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 19:53, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not too sure how to do this - you're welcome to fix this if you wish, and I wouldn't mind. LuciferMorgan 21:00, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Outrageous personal attack

I ask you to withdraw this comment immediately per WP:NPA. Describing another editor as "the cancer of Wikipedia" is utterly unacceptable. WjBscribe 19:41, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will do no such thing. It was an extremely accurate description, and many other Wikipedia users hold similar opinions. Editors who work on articles are rather fed up of being pestered by his useless bot, and the lame excuses he gives. The only thing I find "outrageous" is the fact you thought I would withdraw my statement - any opinions I hold, I stick to them. LuciferMorgan 22:59, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DevilDriver

Hey i just found the interview you did with the DevilDriver guitarist, coming up in the world ;p

If you have the time could you give the DevilDriver article a run down? I started work on it because it was in really bad shape and had three cleanup tags. Also the fact their discography is small so less work ;p

Reading the introduction of your interview it appears you did some research on their background so i thought you might be able to help on what should be added/removed/changed etc. I'll also make sure to get The Blackening complete this week (feel free to remind me if i don't). Anyway if you are busy and don't have the time then no problem, cya around. M3tal H3ad 09:34, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yea the main problem is trying to find info on why Pitts left, no one really talks about it and Pitts hasn't done an interview (as far as I'm aware). Anyway I'll keep looking, thanks. M3tal H3ad 01:35, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I can't find anything on that either. I read on your page that you're due to overhaul Cannibal Corpse sometime - the interview I did with Chris Barnes is quite good if you wish to get his side of the story on why he left. There's also a short bit on the band in "Choosing Death" by Albert Mudrian - give me a bell when you begin work, and I'll bring that book out for you. The book is good on how they got in "Ace Ventura - Pet Detective". LuciferMorgan 15:25, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, although i think i will just do some general cleanup/adding what i have, as reading CC interviews there is not enough to go on to get it GA. M3tal H3ad 04:40, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

This remark is totally unnaceptable. Your propensity for making such personal attacks is highly disruptive. I gave you the opportunity to withdraw the remark and you have refused, merely defending the comment. In light of your previous history of blocks for incivility, I have blocked you for 5 days from editing Wikipedia (ie. one week after I gave you the opportunity to withdraw the comment). WjBscribe 18:00, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Of course I refused. Why should I not refuse? Since you wish to block people for being highly disruptive, feel free to pay your friend Betacommand a visit. If anyone is the definition of supreme disruption here, it is him and his bot. I find it rather unfortunate, and pathetic, that you condone his bot's behaviour. It'll continue to eat at Wikipedia's core, and the disease will spread. "The cancer of Wikipedia" is still an accurate definition, and one I will always stand by. LuciferMorgan 18:12, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And since I am blocked, perhaps you can add the fair use rationales to the images that will be deleted while I'm blocked? LuciferMorgan 18:13, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

LuciferMorgan (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I believe that the duration of the block is rather extreme. Also, in making the comment I got blocked for, I believe I had the right to my opinion considering the amount of disruptive messages I (and others) have received from Betacommandbot. Also, I feel the block serves no purpose. I've written 3 FAs, and contribute to WP:HMM - in blocking me, all this is doing is preventing me from contributing to that Project. After these five days are up, I will still believe my opinion is correct anyway, so what is the actual point of blocking me? In my opinion, all it is is censorship. If I am unblocked, all I will do is continue to contribute to the WP:HMM Project. I have my opinion on Betacommand's actions, and others have theirs. I wish to just leave it at that, and still have the right to my opinion. LuciferMorgan 20:56, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Decline reason:

You made some pretty horrible comments re. another editor yet remain recalcitrant about them. WP:NPA and all that. However, given your past history, I'm reducing the block to two days. But please, understand that attacks of that nature are unacceptable, regardless of your reasons here — Alison 21:28, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Film School (album).jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Film School (album).jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:43, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Becoming X.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Becoming X.jpg.

Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:38, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BFMV

  • Scrolls past the billion image messages* Hey Lucifer, I was wondering if you could look at Bullet for My Valentine when you have some free time. I'm not a huge fan but the article looked like shit, skimming over interviews there was enough content to go on and so on. I hope to nominate The Blackening soon as i go on holiday on the 23rd. I will probably finish off DevilDriver next and then Hellyeah and then CC. Although i prefer working on articles that i can get to GA/FA as its somewhat a reward. Anyway I'll shut up now and thanks again for all the help and advice with articles :) M3tal H3ad 11:50, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Possibly, lyrics and reception would be easy. I'm sure i read somewhere that it was recorded with a Dime V model which could beef up the recording section. M3tal H3ad 12:56, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just to fill you in, for Lombardo all i need is the year he was married and the names of his kids. Also do you think the Slayer section is missing any key details? And do you know of any interviews where basically any metal band's entire history is in one or two interviews. I feel like re-writing article but don't want to do it from like 6 sources. Thanks. M3tal H3ad 07:08, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well people brought it up in the peer review, and also need to know if his birth name was David, which i think it would be. The link doesn't work, and in case you're wondering why i asked it's because i started hell yeah in notepad but because its from 3 interviews all the times people say are different and a formation section would cross over with the recording of the album. M3tal H3ad 09:58, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Enough for GA you reckon? M3tal H3ad 10:30, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LGBT WikiProject Newsletter

Delivered on 12:00, 1 November 2007 (UTC).

NIN WikiProject (and thanks)

I'd like to invite you to join the newly-formed Nine Inch Nails WikiProject. There's alot of NIN-related articles on Wikipedia that could use a little attention, and I hope this project can help organize an effort to improve them. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help me get this project off the ground and a few Nine Inch Nails pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles.

Also, on more of a personal note, I never did get a chance to thank you for your tough-as-nails (pun completely intended) contributions at the NIN FAC. It wasn't always an easy experience, or a pleasant one for either of us I'm sure, but the article is definitely ten times better because of your help and suggestions. So, belated thanks, and I honestly hope there's no bad blood because of a rough review. Drewcifer 10:48, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What is your current focus with the Project? I think it's always better to choose one article to really brush up on, instead of a few at the same time.
With heavy metal articles, I can be quite brutal in my reviews. It's nothing personal - I just happen to be a fan, so I tend to comb over the articles in much more detailed fashion. There's definitely no bad blood due to a rough review by the way - rough reviews are usually great for honing one's skills in terms of writing articles. Brutal reviews I've always thought help more than nice as pie ones (despite how nice they are). LuciferMorgan (talk) 02:10, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good to hear! I can definitely say my contributions at FAC, FLC, GAR, GAC, etc have improved in part due to the difficult review, so you could say I've improved in light of your example. As for the project, I have a few ideas on what to concentrate on, but it's not completely up to me. I was thinking that we kind of start on the main pages (Nine Inch Nails, the discography, Trent Reznor), and then just work our way down the discography page. PHM, Broken, TDS, and so on. NIN is a FA, the discography is at FLC, and Trent Reznor is at GAC, so it looks like PHM would be next. And I definately agree, one article at a time is much better. I think I'll add a collaboration of the month thing or something to the page. Drewcifer (talk) 02:58, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Favor

Would you be able to "babysit" my articles while I'm on holiday for the next 7-10 days? I'm not expecting any GA's to get reviewed and the earlier i nominated them the quicker they would get reviewed, nominated DD and BFMV like 2 weeks ago. If you're busy or don't want to i understand, and many thanks if you do it. Cya. M3tal H3ad (talk) 08:53, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oops should of been more clear. I meant the articles at GAC, Hellyeah, DevilDriver, and Bullet for My Valentine, also The Blackening. Just reverting crap added to the article and if a GA is put on hold and the issues are minor, if you could deal with them. Thanks :) M3tal H3ad (talk) 12:04, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spiffier triple crown, new awards available

The standard triple crown.

Hi, I've been sprucing up the triple crown awards. Here's the new version of the standard triple crown you've already earned. Feel free to replace your old one with this if you like the new version better. I've also introduced two new triple crown awards for editors who've done a lot of triple crown work: the Napoleonic and Alexander the Great edition awards. If you're active in a WikiProject, check out the new offer for custom WikiProject triple crowns. I'll make those upon request if five or more editors qualify. See User:Durova/Triple crown winner's circle for more information. Thanks for your hard work, and cheers! DurovaCharge! 21:57, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't had as much time on Wikipedia recently now that the semester's winding down, so if I don't comment at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/South of Heaven, could you remind me this weekend? 17Drew 08:12, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your comments were fine; obviously, I'd much rather see the quality articles you've produced in British English than nothing. There's no specific section or paragraph I had concerns about. The main reason I put down a weak support was simply that I wouldn't know if there are any errors I might have missed. I'll try to look at the FAC and the article tomorrow to see if there's anything that can be done to address the editor's concerns. 17Drew (talk) 14:23, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Megadeth and BLS songs at AfD

Hi, sorry for the really delayed reply, I lost even my limited Internet access after lightning took out my router. I'll take a look if I get around to it tonight, otherwise, I will hopefully find some time online over the next couple of days. I'll message you once I have nominated any which I feel should go. J Milburn (talk) 19:20, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I have gone through Megadeth and nominated all the songs that seem to have no claim to notability at all-
It is possible others should go, but these will certainly do for a start, and, should they not be deleted, the articles will hopefully be improved. Coincidentially, they were authored by Skeeker, whom I met a few weeks ago over at the Godsmack peer review, so I have contacted him. J Milburn (talk) 21:19, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New toy

Hey, Lucifer, there's a newish toy at FAC that I'm trying to figure out, but I can't make it go consistently, and I don't know how to give you a link. I was hoping you'd experiment. If you go to the WP:FAC page and look below the instructions, next to the Table of Contents, you find a new Toolbox for dead links. If you click on it, it idenitifies all the dead links on every FAC article. It claims that South of Heaven has four dead links, and some other 302 errors (I don't know what those are). Can you experiment with those, sort them out, decipher the usefulness of this tool? Remember that you can usually replace dead links at archive.org. Best, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 06:40, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll use it for the South of Heaven FAC, and see if it works. LuciferMorgan (talk) 07:30, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you end up as confused as I am, you can follow the conversation on my talk page and his talk page[1] with the fellow who designed the tool. I haven't sorted it all out yet. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 07:50, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I think that tool only updates once every 24 hours, so if you fix links, I'm not sure the fixes will show right away on the tool. Not sure. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 07:54, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Judging by the dead link I fixed this morning, it updates immediately. LuciferMorgan (talk) 11:04, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Lucifer; I still haven't figured it out, but it points out some FACs that have far too many dead links, so I'm hoping it will be useful. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 18:17, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't totally figured it out - I just use it as a way to check dead links, and in that sense it's very useful. It'll definitely be useful at FAC in that sense. LuciferMorgan (talk) 18:54, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
