there are a few parts of this article that dont seem correct to me. firstly, to say that Hatton hasn't been the same since the Collazo fight is very POV, and not remotely verifiable, especially as he has had only one bout since that fight. also, i feel the sentences relating to him receiving an MBE and him liking to drink guinness should be separated, as they are not related. also the wording regarding the Jonathan Ross interview doesn't seem suitable for an encyclopedia, perhaps 'killer left hook' would sound more suitable being 'powerful left hook'? The biography says that Ricky was born in Stockport, Greater Manchester. But most definitely Stockport is in Cheshire.

Speaking of POV, the description of the Mayweather-Hatton fight is terribly biased! Many respected boxing experts such as Doug Fischer and the veteran Teddy Atlas did not even consider the Mayweather vs. Hatton fight competitive. "Hatton was able to hold his own, until round eight" is a stretch. Ricky was consistently getting beat to the punch and broken down from at least round 3 onward. Also of the scorecards of all three official judges suggest that this fight was really dominated by Mayweather from the outset. Given this disparity only Ricky's fans seem to have a different POV. I don't want to try and change the article myself as I recognize that boxing fans can be extremely defensive and emotional when it comes to their heroes. However since Wikipedia generally at least tries to stick to the facts, I suggest that the article at least attempts to stick to the facts rather than point-of-view reviews like this. Better to just state what the official scores were at the time of the TKO (a glaring omission), especially since it was mentioned that Hatton "won all but one round on all three judges' scorecards" against Urango, but similarly won only 1 round on two scorecards and 2 rounds on 1 scorecard of the Mayweather fight. Hatton beat Urango but had serious problems with Urango's body shots, that fight was far from easy. But again, this is an opinion, so I suggest sticking to the official scores and results. There was not even any controversy in Hatton's fight with Mayweather.

Hatton vs. Lewis

Does British mean by race? Lennox Lewis often breaks the top ten list of greatest heavies of all time. Hatton hasn't even really beaten any great fighters in their prime and he's just starting to make a name for himself in the US. Yes, he is seen as one of the greatest boxers with British nationality ever. I don’t think he can be considered one of the greatest boxers ever, yet. If he defeats Floyd Mayweather Jr, then I think he will be one of the greatest. P.s. There is no such thing as "racially British", as there is no "British race". Lewis has British nationality and so does Hatton. By the same token, a statement like that ("seen by many as one of the best...") should be supported by a reliable source. Badgerpatrol (talk) 15:01, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Absolutely correct. The first comment here speaks volumes about the POV of it's author. Lennox Lewis is racially British by virtue of being born in Great Britain. For that matter, so are Lewis Hamilton and Amir Khan, for example. The author would like to use the word "white" but has just enough intelligence to realise that this would be seen as a controversial and probably distatsteful characterisation.

Height, Weight etc?

Ok I came to the page about Ricky Hatton after seeing a picture of him between the two WWE wrestlers Batista and The Undertaker and was wondering just how tall Ricky Hatton actually is? However this is not on the page so I am suggesting that maybe there could be this and a few more statistics like his weight, year of debut etc in the infobox at the top of the article.195.157.148.2 08:35, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Technical knock out

The article states:

"Floyd Mayweather Jr. knocked out Ricky Hatton in the 10th round of their scheduled bout. Joe Cortez stopped the fight after Hatton fell to the canvas after a furious Mayweather assault."

This is a little ambiguous. With the referee stopping the fight it was a TKO but not a knockout as usually understood. Suggest that the first sentence is removed, or that it is reworded as something like "Mayweather beat Hatton by TKO in the 10th round". Also, the names should be shortened to just there surnames. Nicknames

"Ricky Fatton" has recently been added to the list of nicknames.

This is not so much a nickname as a jibe about his weight, it maybe could be a nickname if Ricky was happy with it but as he stated on the Jonathan Ross show some time ago, he is not keen on the comments about his weight.Hypnoticmonkey (talk) 20:10, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
