Fountain at Dupont Circle. I love this picture.

A message left on this talk page by a Christian fan of my work: "You sodomites really know how to stick together....yech !!!! I never met one who was not significantly emotionally disturbed. Oh, they can function and prosper in society but when the center of your life is your perverted sex you are emotionally disturbed and after looking at your user page are no different. People like you should and someday will be destroyed. It will be a glorious day. BTW i rotate ip addresses about every 2-3 days........Keep on Suckin'

ps. have you ever thought about putting a gun to your head and giving your life to jesus? i know i could not go through life day to day looking in the mirror at that vile degenerate looking back at me." - 97.88.222.103

So much for this.

I hope all of you sodomites decide that maybe Christians are right and that all we need is some church in our wicked lives.

Praise Jeebus!!!

Pullen Memorial Baptist Church

I've made a tiny start at User:Aleta/sandbox#Pullen Memorial Baptist Church. Feel free to do whatever, whenever on it there. Just ignore the signature junk at the bottom of the page. Aleta Sing 02:58, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks. I'll work on it some. Also, do you think it's possible for you to ask Cooljuno not to assume everyone that is voting delete hasn't read the article or checked the refs? He's consistently doing it and I'm finding it annoying. If I say something, I'm afraid it might not come out so pleasantly. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 03:01, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I commented... Aleta Sing 03:14, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. You worded it much better than what I had in mind. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 03:15, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've got to call it a night... Aleta Sing 05:32, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Me 2. Night. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 05:33, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Good night! Aleta Sing 05:39, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With the bldgs&structures category, shouldn't we talk some about the actua physical building? Do you have anything on that? Aleta Sing 16:12, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know they're going through a building program. (here's a rendering) I wonder what kind of architecture it is? That would be noteworthy. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 16:20, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But can we find a reliable source for it? Aleta Sing 16:37, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Would this be one? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 18:31, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think so. You're good at finding those! Aleta Sing 19:25, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yay, thanks for taking it live. I had thought that we could just move it from my sandbox to mainspace to preserve the history. This is probably fine though. I see that David added the picture. Can I assume that twbuckner (or whatever his/her name is) changed the license? Aleta Sing 13:58, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I didn't know we could move something from the sandbox! I'm sorry. Yeah, twbuckner changed the license of the picture. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 16:14, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If I move your sandbox to the article title, will the history show up on the Pullen page? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 16:22, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but since the article exists at that title now, we need to delete it first. Any objection to my deleting the page, then moving the sandbox to that title? Aleta Sing 17:07, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problemo. I'm afraid if I try, I'd screw it up. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 17:19, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done. I've readded the categories, but we'll have to go and redo the wikilinking that you had done after putting the other version in mainspace before. Aleta Sing 17:27, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okie dokie. Thanks for doing that. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 17:29, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! Of course, the history includes my whole sandbox history, but oh well... Aleta Sing 17:34, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I want to submit it for DYK and do you think the history section should be broken up? Like create a history section and social issues section or because of the church's notability for those things, do you think it should all stay under history? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 17:36, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think breaking it up someway would be good just because it seems a little unwieldy like it is, but the social issues seem intimately tied with the history; I'm not sure what the best way to do it is. I agree it should be a good DYK candidate. Aleta Sing 17:41, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just added the pastor's opposition to the Vietnam War. I'm trying to find a picture of him. It would be fair use since he's dead and considering there was a resolution passed in his honor by the NC General Assembly, it would be appropriate to have a pic of him. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 17:55, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Look at this [1].
I'm wondering if we should add a section just for their pastors? Are you going to add the ACLU thing? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 18:18, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How do I add this to the "further reading" section? (the ISBN number) Or does it belong? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 18:23, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I think that's very fitting. You could use basically the same format I did for that history of PMBC book. Or maybe I'm not getting exactly what you are asking about how to do it? for the ISBN, if you type just ISBN #####, the software automatically recognizes that's what it is and formats it accordingly.
The ACLU thing doesn't seem to fit in this article. I'm starting to think Finlator needs his own. What do you think? Aleta Sing 18:29, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, there's definitely enough info for his own article. I've only found one pic of him so far. It's in the Indy Weekly reference about his death. But there are two other men in the pic and it's not a good one. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 18:31, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I remember that one. I did a google image search and found nada (well not of pictures of him, though it's how I found the ACLU dinner named for him).
The hook sentence for DYK, about Pullen being the first Baptist church in the South to apppoint an openly gay clergy needs to be reworded. Right now, it says probably. What's a better way to word it? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 18:49, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think the source article said "is thought to be the first..." I didn't much like that ("thought" by whom?) hmmmm... Maybe it's "the first known to have"...? Aleta Sing 19:03, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, sorry to be slow about getting back about your question about adding "African diaspora" to this as a category. I see what you're getting at, but think it might be a stretch. If you want to do it, I think you need to emphasize more how the pastor and people in the church were moved by the civil rights movement and became involved in marching and activism, not just that it was a place where people could talk about the issues, although that was important. I can see you and Aleta became excited about Finlator, but it's a lot about him now. What about the congregation? We don't even know how many people go to the church. Clearly it has a progressive history in Raleigh, but I think you need to be wary of just listing positions. Maybe address fewer of them at more length. Also, you may need to explain more for non-Baptist readers why it was significant that the church welcomed people from other denominations, and the meaning of other decisions for which they were criticized or expelled from the Southern Baptist Convention. Great work, though!--Parkwells (talk) 00:46, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for the advice. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 01:42, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate it as well. Don't we have the size of the congregation in the first sentence, or did that get dropped? Being from a non-Baptist background, the welcoming people from other denominations is a bit of a puzzle for me, too, but I know that the source mentioned it. I wonder if any spell out the significance more? Aleta Sing 01:58, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How about you give it a try, k? Justinm1978 (talk) 16:39, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My comment was very civil. How about not messing with people's userpages because you have a bone to pick with them, k? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 16:44, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
For curious onlookers, this was my "uncivil" comment. "Instead of messing with people's pages, try building the encyclopedia." I know, it was soooo hateful. Shame on me. It was in regards to Justin removing categories from Allstarecho's page while he's not here to put them back himself. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 16:53, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, not that kind. I mean time to take a break from editing and enjoy another video. IMO, when people annoy you by not minding their own business instead of writing or editing articles, a funny or inspiring video will brighten your day. Marlee Matlin is someone I look up to, not just because she's an accomplished actress, but because of her determination to achieve unimagineable goals. Also, she sure knows how to play a convincing lesbian, no? So when someone gets on your nerves or tells you that you're not capable of doing something, just remember that anything is possible. (who knew I could be serious?) Aww hell, here's something for you horndogs too. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 23:08, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

YouTube

[Moved from User talk:SatyrTN#I miss NC]

APK: I'm beginning to think that your work involves watching YouTube all the time.... Does it? lol — The nostalgia thing is very real. I can remember being in college in Virgina, and telephoning a friend that still lived in NYC and asking him to stick the handset out the window so I could hear typical Big Apple street noise. I missed NYC that much. — Becksguy (talk) 00:10, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I wish. I rarely watch tv. I entertain myself with YT, WP, and a few other sites. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 00:16, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My TV has been broken for two plus years (maybe three). Although I miss some programs, I was spending way too much time passively watching the boob tube. The reclaimed time now goes to reading, working on WP (and the associated research and reading), working on projects, learning more of the subjects I didn't have time to study before, and going out more (all good things). Unfortunately, I also am playing around on the internet more (much of it is not a good thing). TV is the greatest time waster invented. I do wish I could watch DVDs on the TV as a monitor... so much better than on the computer. — Becksguy (talk) 01:59, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a YT account? I have an old one I can't log into because I forgot my password, but you can watch old videos I recorded in August of '06. Granted, I weighed more then (and the girl in the clips has lost 80 lbs since then, so we both look different) and had a bad haircut (the reason I'm wearing a hat in all of the clips), but I'll e-mail the channel if you want. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 02:17, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I have an YT account. And yes, I also spend a lot of time there, and download many videos. Sure, email me the channel; that would be fun. — Becksguy (talk) 03:05, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm watching your vids now. And here is one for you, as an answer to Fergie's Fergalicious you mentioned before. Nerdz rule! — Becksguy (talk) 03:21, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh lawd, when that boy gets to the chorus it gets painful. But it's still a cute video. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 03:26, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Did you see the one clip with the Target ad in the metro? This is not my video, but it's better quality. They only have those moving ads between Metro Center - Chinatown & Chinatown - Judiciary Square. I've seen the Microsoft ad and there's a Chrysler ad as well, but I can't find a clip. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 04:01, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, but I saw the new jeans .....  :-) Sorry, I got involved in a veeerrrry long phone call. — Becksguy (talk) 05:22, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Population

Actually they are from an estimate in late 2005 and the albuquerque population that was listed is way off and i was correcting it because iam one of the ACS planning divison commissioners in albuquerque so there is your answer, sorry but i was just letting the people know what is the correct population.

ThomasSalazar chat?! 09:20 MT, 07 April 2008 (UTC)

If the 2006 population is wrong like you say, then a whole lot of people have been fooled. A Google search shows that the number I reverted to is the correct version. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 03:26, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Homophobic Vandalism

This is not worth creating a new section for, but You can add one to your vandalized count, APK. The nice admin that blocked the anon troll for harassment also reverted his edit. BTW, he also got me (purportably I'm in the gay marine corps navy) and three others, as well as vandalizing several articles, a total of 12 edits, all on one day. — Becksguy (talk) 18:30, 9 April 2008 (UTC) — PS: Never mind, you already did.[reply]

Yeah, I noticed that a lil while ago and added it to my vandalized count. He said, "this user is bi and bends both ways . this user also loves kiddy porn." I'm offended. I am not bi! I do bend, as in I'm flexible. I see it as more of an asset by being able to reach my long legs to the ceiling. In regards to the "kiddy" porn. I'm not into guys younger than me, so I'm afraid that's incorrect. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 18:37, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm offended also, and none of mine is true either. Now I'm no longer a user page vandalism virgin. — Becksguy (talk) 18:55, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Taos High School

I absolutely do not mind the information regarding Taos High School article being edited as long as it is based on FACT. Nor am I possessive of the information. What I do mind is Tomasalazar's CONSTANT editing of information that based on arrogance and disrespect. I've been working with the NMAA and Taos Public Schools to ensure that the information in this article is as accurate as possible in an effort to have this as a reliable source of data. I'm assuming this reference "possessiveness" was also forwarded to Tomasalazar.--Taostiger (talk) 23:13, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, it wasn't directed towards the other user. Just you. I stand by my statement in response to your edit summaries. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 01:38, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry about my edit summaries, it's been my experience and reality with the other user. I also stand by my statements towards this opinion. --Taostiger (talk) 01:57, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The entire article is unreferenced and with sentences like this ("We are outside Taos Pueblo which has been around for over 1,100 years.") tells me this might be a case of WP:COI (mentioned on your talk page) and is poor WP:MOS. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 02:04, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your UNsolicited input..... The article is taken from the Taos Municipal Schools website. Once again, don't worry about it--Taostiger (talk) 04:01, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Word of advice, you need to check your attitude (above comment) and stop reverting Aleta's helpful edits. Once again, you seem to have ownership issues. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:02, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, don't worry about it. You seem to suffer from the same thing you accuse me of. Why don't share your WIkipedia "expertise" with this article and offer to share instead of deleting. This is the work of a group of students and they're learning, and quite a bit from individuals like you. Let me refer you to ownership.--Taostiger (talk) 14:46, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This edit is vandalism. I AM trying to help with the article. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 19:56, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I came here to drop exactly the same note but Aleta beat me to it. Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 04:44, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I left a comment on RLevse's page. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:02, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The Suspected Sockpuppets page is like a 'first step' to see if a few folks think there's something amiss (i.e. enough evidence to list a case for a Checkuser Request). Then, if there is a feeling that it is needed, a Checkuser request is listed at WP:RFCU. Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 06:24, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
PS: In the former case one merely looks over the edits to see if there are any patterns etc. which leads one to suspect sockpuppetry. Essentially confirming what you originally thought, which opinion seems divided but at least a couple of others think there is something amiss. In Checkuser the IPS are actually checked. Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 06:27, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm wondering if all of this is worth the trouble. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:41, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it depends on consensus really - Jayron, who is mpre experienced at this sort of thing than me, thinks there is something worth checking authoritatively, and so do I, while Captain Infinity doesn't. I can't comment for Rlevse but his tone suggests that he may think a checkuser is warranted too. If it were me suspected of being a sock I'd want to clear my name conclusively as well...so yes I do think it is worth it on a couple of counts, but it is a headache typing (thank god for cut-and-paste). Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 08:54, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Raleigh NC area NRHPs, and photos

Sorry I didn't get back to you at all promptly. In discussion thread now archived from your talk page, I had said: "Some such NPS webpages include photos that are NPS-owned, so what you did seems reasonable to try. But for this photo of the Ritcher House, it is identified as NOT a NPS photo, with caption "The Ritcher House is an example of Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian design. Photo by Jerry Blow, courtesy of Raleigh Historic Districts Commission". If you consult the NPS page that talks about copyright of pictures in its website, i believe it is clear this is NOT public domain. The NPS is clear that it uses, with permission, some copyrighted pictures, and those do not go into the public domain just because the NPS uses them. So, actually, i think this one should be deleted. I am sure you want to do the right thing here, too, though it is unfortunate to have to take a step back."

You had said"I don't live in NC anymore, but I've been asking a few people to take pictures if they can. Some of the captions in these profiles say different things. Some say from the "National Register Collection." Is that allowed to be added to the article?"

My response now: sounds like that would be okay. There may be different ways for them to say it, that they own the negatives, that they have ownership and put it in the public domain. Here is the National Park Service copyright-related policy statement, which I could not find earlier, it is located at http://www.nps.gov/disclaimer.htm and states, under Ownership, that "Information presented on this website, unless otherwise indicated , is considered in the public domain. It may may be distributed or copied as is permitted by the law. Not all information on this website has been created or is owned by the NPS. If you wish to use any non-NPS material, you must seek permission directly from the owning (or holding) sources. NPS shall have the unlimited right to use for any purpose, free of any charge, all information submitted to NPS via this site except those submissions made under separate legal contract. NPS shall be free to use, for any purpose, any ideas, concepts, or techniques contained in information provided to NPS through this site." So they are clear that some of the images they use are NOT public domain, but ones that are suggested to be NPS-owned are public domain. Hope this is helpful. doncram (talk) 05:15, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks for getting back to me and thanks for the helpful advice. Cheers. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:03, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
