Revert of your edit to MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition
Hi, I just reverted your edit to MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition that removed the DejaVu Sans gadget. I don't use this gadget, but I do recall that although Safari is the only browser to currently support it, the support is based on a World Wide Web Consortium standard that other browsers will probably eventually integrate. There's some documentation here which I believe applies. Cheers, Nihiltres{t.l} 00:46, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not about enforcing W3C standarts, and I completely support Prodego on this issue. Gadgets have to be useful and popular, they are not for some "technology preview". —AlexSm 02:07, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- True, a gadget must be useful, but hell, they must not be required to be popular. →AzaToth 11:27, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- The main point is that you should never again make potentially controversial changes to MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition without previous discussion on Wikipedia_talk:Gadget. Seriously. Сасусlе 13:06, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- No no no, there is no need to add a button that is useless for 98% of people, and that the majority of the people who can use it will never use anyway. I am willing to bet less then 10 people are using that. It is a waste of space, and clutters the gadget page. Prodego talk 15:45, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- No more edits of the gadgets definition without previous discussion, ok? Сасусlе 16:39, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- I can not say that I will not edit it. I have added many of the gadgets on there, and will continue to watch that list. I did not mean to remove WikiED, but I stand by the removal of DejaVu Sans. Prodego talk 17:52, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, you got me wrong. Feel free to edit the gadgets definition, but only after consensus has been reached on Wikipedia_talk:Gadget if it is an even remotely-controversial change. Even for probably non-controversial changes the least thing the community can expect is a notice on Wikipedia_talk:Gadget. Сасусlе 18:30, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Gadget changes
Hi Prodego, please could you comment on your recent deletions of gadget definitions [1] on Wikipedia_talk:Gadget#wikEd no longer available as a gadget? I would especially be interested in hearing why you made your changes without previous discussion and what evidence of "crashes way way too many browsers" is. Thanks, Сасусlе 05:21, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, I made a mistake there, I removed the full WikiEd, rather then the just diff version (which was reported on WP:VPT to crash IE6, IE7, and Safari. You can go ahead and readd that one. Prodego talk
Black/green skin
Can you please add @media print { color: black; ) } or something so that when you print with this gadget that you do not get green text? See also report on VP/T --TheDJ (talk • contribs) 11:27, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- I will try, do note that I am not all that great at css, and I am not the original (or secondary) author of the blackskin css. Prodego talk 01:12, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi Prodego, I would like to call to your attention, that a new editor has been translating into spanish the article Armando Manzanero, that is on the english wikipedia. I would appreciate if you could help revert this mess. Best regards, Uruk (Spanish wikipedia)--200.70.14.40 (talk) 11:54, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

A watchful request.
In about a week, I will be taking a month off to tour around China. I have recently embarked on a major project, however, and would appreciate if you could keep an eye on it - would you watch the six sub-pages listed on List of political and geographic subdivisions by total area? Request
Hello, Prodego! Straightly put...may I please have the rollback feature? I'm looking forward to kicking the butt of vandalism to Timbuktu (preferably to the tune of the Fifth Symphony). Feel free to comb through my contribs. :-) (If the edit summaries seem like I already have rollback, I have been using it through User:Lupin's "Recent IP edits" tool.) --LaPianista! 14:54, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks!
Thanks for the rollback! I'll definitely look in to Huggle, too. Have a great day, wherever you are. :-)
LaPianista! has given you a WikiCake! WikiCakes promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day a little better. Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a cake, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Bon appetit!
Spread the tastiness of cakes by adding {{subst:GiveCake}} to their talk page with a friendly message.

Hey, I sent a message to mail:unblock-en-l a few hours ago. Apparently it hasn't made it through yet. Could you, as a list admin, check the status of it and if nothing came through, send me an email please (g1ggyman@gmail.com). Thanks, dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 11:38, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Nevermind, sorted. dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 09:09, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Good, glad that got sorted out for you. I've been somewhat inactive lately, sorry for not getting back. Prodego talk 16:39, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

VF Backlog
Hi Prodego - there is a considerable backlog at the registration/approvals page for VandalProof. Only a few were recently addressed and most of us have waited for a month. Aside from you, no other moderator seems available. Can you please look into it and address it? Vishnava talk 22:07, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi Prodego; Edit reverted on B2 article
Prodego, I would appreciate your researching a subject first before removing material. It's helpful to avoiding acts of vandalism.
00:27, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Raryel
- What exactly do you have a problem with in my edit? My edit made two changes, one, it fixed a coding error you introduced in this edit, and two, it removed information that was uncited (in the case of the F117 info), and that had nothing to do with the B2, beyond a minor trivia like relationship (Pyotr Ufimtsev). I do not see how either of these changes constitutes vandalism. Please explain, Prodego talk 00:57, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Prodigo, your characterization of Ufimtsev's work as irrelevant to the B2's design os purely a result of your lack of familiarity with your subject. I suggest you read Ufimtsev's bio on wikipedia for starters. Ufimstev proved that a radar reflection's strength is dependent on the shape the beam hits, not its size. This was put to direct use in the F-117's development. The B2, in this sense, is a much more refined application of the concept, and he refinement comes about in part through greater use of computers to design the wings and edge shapes and, more importantly, control flight surfaces. The Russians knew all about stealth back in 1964, when Ufimtsev first wrote his paper. They couldn't put it to use, though, because they couldn't perform the calculations needed to get both wing and flight controls built. By 1977, when the Have Blue prototype, was born, we could get that done, but the Russians still could not.
The B-2 as a flying wing traces its origin back to Jack Northrop's flying wing; however, that's as far as it goes. The B-2 is truly a new aircraft and the way it is flown and how it stays in the air has very little to do with the Flying Wing of decades ago. They are very different animals.
I'll grant you that I should have offered additional references at my point of edit. But the link between aircraft stealth and Ufimtsev is already established in the wikipedia, and linking to Ufimtsev is sufficient.
I have not finished looking for added references. I will add them as I find them.

Thanks for the clarification. I see your point; thanks. 17:40, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Raryel

My RFB
Thank you for your comments in my RFB. Since it was only at 64%, it was a shoo-in to be unsuccessful, so I withdrew. I didn't want it to run until its scheduled close time because my intent in standing for RFB was to help the bureaucrats with their workload, not give them one more RfX to close. Through the course of my RFB, I received some very valuable feedback, some of it was contradictary, but other points were well agreed upon. I have ceased my admin coaching for now to give me time to revamp my method. I don't want to give up coaching completely, but I'm going to find a different angle from which to approach it. As for my RFA Standards, I am going to do some deep intraspection. I wrote those standards six months ago and I will slowly retool them. This will take some time for me to really dig down and express what I want in an admin candidate. If, after some serious time of deep thought, I don't find anything to change in them, I'll leave them the way they are. I'm not going to change them just because of some community disagreement as to what they should be. Will I stand for RFB again in the future? I don't know. Perhaps some time down the road, when my tenure as an administrator is greater than one year, if there is a pressing need for more active bureaucrats, maybe. If there no pressing need, then maybe not. Useight (talk) 03:12, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

global deleted image review
I've noticed your opposition to global rights. Could you review the meta:Global deleted image review draft and offer an opinion on the talk page? We Common admins are (unsurprisingly) in unanimous support so far, but I imagine you will have a different take on it that will be useful to the discussion. - BanyanTree 01:24, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry. Was thinking Commons when I should have been writing Meta. I fixed the link above. Thanks, BanyanTree 02:17, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- Related, I see you removed the marking of Wikipedia:Global rights usage as policy. What more do you think needs to be done to get that from a proposed policy to a policy? It has been reasonably well advertised and as far as I'm aware nobody has objected to the spirit of the proposal. GRBerry 18:57, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
