One day we'll get nostalgic for disaster
Okay, it's a lyric from the song that samples it. Whatever >_> Anyway, do you want to help out with getting Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen song) to FA? :) Sceptre (talk) 21:49, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm...I'll maybe help out. That's the best I can offer :P. Seraphim♥ 00:49, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
PUI
Hi. Someone has raised a question with File:32. Imperial stormtrooper costume.JPG, which they've tagged as a "derivative work", presumably because of the Star Wars' costumes in the photo. It was tagged quite a while ago, but DumbBot has only recently started dropping it at WP:CP, and I transferred it (en masse) to WP:PUI for handling on December 14th (here.) Typically, that board is overworked, and it doesn't look like these have been processed in any way. Images are not my area, but I'm trying to help handle some of these. I wanted to let you know about the matter so that you could weigh in there. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:37, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. It didn't cross my mind when I uploaded them: d'oh. I'll delete them myself (they're not that good anyway). Seraphim♥ 00:49, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Merry Christmas
A NobodyMy talk is wishing you a Merry Christmas! This greeting (and season) promotes WikiLove and hopefully this note has made your day a little better. Spread the WikiLove by wishing another user a Merry Christmas, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past, a good friend, or just some random person. Don't eat yellow snow!
Spread the holiday cheer by adding {{subst:User:Flaming/MC2008}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
- Already emailed you the same, but Merry Christmas! And I should really get to bed... Sceptre (talk) 02:59, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thank-you. My sincerest wishes for a happy new year for you both. Seraphim♥ 22:32, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

- I obviously don't understand WP:NPOV properly, since I really don't see what I'm doing wrong. 194.189.32.65 (talk) 14:18, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

- Tbh, in the context it was fairly neutral. That article as it stands is pathetically biased, portraying the band in an overly positive band, when they are (quack quack) BLATANTLY crap. 194.189.32.65 (talk) 14:58, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- "This probably doesn't conform to NPOV" -194.189.32.65. You understood it wasn't neutral when you added it. "Blatantly crap" is your opinion. As was explained to you previously, negative criticism is permissible provided it is neutral, relevant and encyclopedic. For example, "Allmusic/The Independent/Billboard etc, stated <insert criticism>". Seraphim♥ 15:04, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- Would "I, user:194.189.32.65, stated..." be acceptable? 194.189.32.65 (talk) 15:21, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

- It's for pretty much the same reason we don't say drum and bass or the like isn't crap; there are some fans out there (deluded or not) which would take offense to their favourite band being called "crap" on a Wikipedia article when it's ultimately a person's opinion. New WP:RDREG userbox
This user is a Reference desk regular. |
The box to the right is the newly created userbox for all RefDesk regulars. Since you are an RD regular, you are receiving this notice to remind you to put this box on your userpage! (but when you do, don't include the |no. Just say {{WP:RD regulars/box}} ) This adds you to Category:RD regulars, which is a must. So please, add it. Don't worry, no more spam after this - just check WP:RDREG for updates, news, etc. flaminglawyerc 23:32, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Burr (rapper)
You declined the speedy on Burr (rapper) giving the reason that it already was Afd. This is not a sufficient reason for declining a speedy deletion. Please provide such a reason. Thank you. Shadowjams (talk) 11:14, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- The prod was declined and now the community are deciding what to do with the article at AfD, ergo, I will not unilaterally delete that page. Seraphim♥ 11:24, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

AFI-PUNK
AFI-PUNK is abusing yet another IP: 93.194.250.103. Do you think you can get him blocked? Timmeh! 20:32, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- SOP in these cases is to range-block AFI, seeing as how he likes to hop IPs... mind you, I thought she had already done so, about two weeks ago. Or maybe those blocks have expired. Fweh. Sceptre (talk) 21:53, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- They must have expired, as yet another IP has popped up in the last few minutes. Timmeh! 14:15, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- I think it might be time to reapply the range block. I thought I'd just watch and see if he could change...no such luck. The last time I checked contribs from his range it seemed that he was the only one editing. I can't seem to find the link to re-check that though so I might consult a CU on this one.
