tv court show
I saw her the other day on some television court show, in a suit with a dog breeder. I believe the show was called Cristina's court or something. Not sure if this is relevant to the article, but thought I should mention it. Itsmeiam (talk) 06:55, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Age?
Doesn't it say it her book that she was born in 1969 or was I mistaken?(MgTurtle (talk) 02:46, 29 August 2008 (UTC))
- I used the book to source the article...but the book never gives the actual year, just the month and day. Nikki311 18:02, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
I work for the Peace Corps, and I can verify it is 1969. Also, she served only 30 days and it was in Costa Rica and not Guatemala. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.205.231.250 (talk) 20:42, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

People will confuse Chyna with China. RandySavageFTW (talk) 13:06, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- How has she been billed since leaving the WWF? Has she made media appearances mainly under her own name or used Chyna? I'm asking because I live in the UK, and I only know her to be billed as Chyna, so for the moment
Neutral. Oh, and your reason, is verging on point-y. Darrenhusted (talk) 13:15, 3 September 2008 (UTC)- Funny how SRX opposed Rhyno saying people might confuse it with the animal rhino. Then I do the same thing and someone labels it something that doesn't make sense. RandySavageFTW (talk) 13:45, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- He actually said per the many spellings of Gerin's Rhyno alias meaning that Rhyno has been know as Rhino, Chyna has not wrestled as China. So not the same. Darrenhusted (talk) 13:53, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

- Oppose, she's never wrestled or has been known as China in any way. She briefly used the name Chyna Doll for copyright purposes, but has since legally changed her name to Chyna, so that's what she will be known as from now on. Nikki311 15:43, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
I didn't ask for a move to China. People might think China is spelled Chyna, and then they'll end up on Chyna's article instead of China. RandySavageFTW (talk) 17:12, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Snowy Oppose - this is an act of disruption as the user is submitting this per my comment above and being sarcastic and making no point. I will close this if other people cite WP:SNOW--SRX 19:59, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose, now it has been clarified, and I will cite WP:SNOW as if she has legally changed her name then the article cannot be moved. Darrenhusted (talk) 08:10, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Specific text
- excellent lead!
- D-Generation X (1997–1998) heading: The end of that section happens in early 1999, shouldn't the years change to 1997-1999
- "autumn of 2000" - with seasons differing in different part of the world, a different wording than autumn or fall should be picked (see WP:SEASON)
- In the "Television and movies" section, more citations are needed for her appearances
- Done. Ref'd everything that wasn't already. Nikki311 00:17, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- There aren't any sources for wrestlers who she managed or entrance themes
- Music: I cited the WWE's CDs, which list titles, users, etc. I used the Template:cite video, though, because I couldn't find one specifically for CDs. Do you know of one? Nikki311 19:16, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- It looks like you picked the right template. I've never ran into that situation before. Royalbroil 23:15, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

- Cite Pro Girls Wrestling Association Rookie of the Year (1996)
- Selected filmography - what is the criteria used to select which films are listed? Many are television appearances, can you think of a generic word to encompass films and tv appearances?
- Fixed. I think. Nikki311 00:01, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sources look solid, except TMZ and Jim Ross' blog. Could any of that information be sourced from something more reliable?
- Jim Ross's blog cites that he, in fact, made that claim. I wouldn't normally use a blog to source anything but the author's own thoughts. As for TMZ, I'll delete the part about the protest (it doesn't seem all that important), but I really can't find a more reliable source for the name change. TMZ includes a copy of the documents if that helps at all. I could just cite that. Nikki311 19:16, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'd cite the document. Royalbroil 23:15, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Birth year 1969 or 1972
As a big fan of Chyna, I believe in providing true information about the 9th wonder of the world. Now in many articles and websites it clearly states that she was born in 1969 AND NOT 1972 (please check it up). Therefore when providing people information, it is important to me to provide the correct information, and not mislead them in believing false information. If indeed my information is incorrect, which I would except, please do provide scorces of where the information is stated or can be found. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.138.73.249 (talk) 04:05, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- The article has the information sourced with [1]. In the article, which is considered a reliable source, it says she will turn 29 in December. The article was written in 2001, which makes her birthday in 1972. What are your sources for 1969? A wrestling fan site does not count as a reliable source. If she says it in an interview, I'd accept it. Nikki♥311 04:21, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- More proof: her official website's biography has her date of birth as 12-27-1972. [2]. Nikki♥311 04:31, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
I checked out her offical site, which I'm grateful you provided, and it appears we might both be wrong about her birth year being 1969 or 1972, because if you carry on reading the link you provided the artical states she was born in 1970. I don't know if 1972 is a typing error, but I checked up her myspace site, which I got from her offical site and it does say 1970 and her age is 38.
Here are sites which are none fan sites that say 1969. There are a lot more none fan sites that state 1969, but I'll only give you a few of the well known sites: -
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0491321/
http://www.tv.com/joanie-laurer/person/49161/summary.html
http://www.movietome.com/people/49161/joanie-laurer/index.html
Sites that says 1970, and perhaps the most accurate information, but otherwise the best thing is to email Chyna to get the true info: -
(This site says 1969 or 1970) http://www.123exp-biographies.com/t/00034267656/
(Site you provided, but if you read down it says 1970) http://www.9thwonderoftheworld.com/chyna/biography/
(Another page of the site you provided) http://www.9thwonderoftheworld.com/chyna/
(Her offical myspace states 1970) http://www.myspace.com/9thwonderofficialmyspace
- Those first four websites are not considered reliable, but the last three (her official fansite, not her official website, my bad) worries me. I'll try and e-mail the webmaster to see. If I don't get an answer, or there are more conflicting reports, we can add a note that her birthdate has been reported as both years. Nikki♥311 21:15, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Here are a couple of sites, which I consider to be reliable: -
- http://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2008/1228/377197/chyna.shtml (Very reliable wrestling site, which get their sources from interviews and being inside the business. They say she had been celebrating her 38th birthday).
- http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/celebrity_rehab_with_dr_drew/series_characters.jhtml (Stated birth year 1970, but unsure if you personally consider this reliable). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.130.130.16 (talk) 20:31, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
I work for the Peace Corps, and I can verify it is 1969. Also, she served only 30 days and it was in Costa Rica and not Guatemala. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.48.1.72 (talk) 01:57, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Why isn't anyone doing anything to correct mistakes?
I have been reading some of the posts. The post that interests me the most is the Chyna birth year debate. I have read both arguments (1970 or 1972). To me it appears that 1970 is a much stronger argument than 1972, espeally if Chyna's offical myspace site states 1970 and she's 38. But what I find sad is that no one has corrected the article section, or at least have stated that her birth year had both been stated as 1970 and 1972. Now what I find even more sad is some people (but not me personally)find wikipedia as not being too reliable in being accurate with information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aysachyna (talk • contribs) 23:11, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
I work for the Peace Corps, and I can verify it is 1969. Also, she served only 30 days and it was in Costa Rica and not Guatemala. There is no doubt.
In her television appearances...
I think it should be worth mentioning that Chyna made a guest appearance on the briefly aired claymation series, Gary and Mike. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.252.229.12 (talk) 05:16, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
