Northwest Paranormal Research Team (NPRT) page deleted. I accidentally placed the deletion request on it!!!???

Hi i have jsut dun a page to do with the paranormal and the evidence my team has gathered. But it was deleted. Why has it been taken off, and if it is because you dont think it is important enough... WHy does The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) not been deleted also!

My team is non-profitable at present, but these guys are seling things on thier site and gettin sponsorships and TV payments... Surely just for discussion I could keep the page online???

Strange, I never got an edit conflict, nor did I see the Category:People from County Donegal added when I hit submit... Oh well. Sorry about that. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 19:29, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I saw your edit summary ("+ cat") and the fact that the category was removed, not added, and figured wires got crossed somewhere. Best, TNXMan 19:43, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article had been deprodded just a few minutes before you prodded it. I'm about to bring it to AfD. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 00:56, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the heads-up. Without any reliable sources, I think the author may be facing an uphill battle. TNXMan 01:28, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The report is blatant

The report does go against the username policy because the username is RASAVADA and the only edits from this user was to advertise a site called Rasavada on their user page. Iowateen (talk) 02:54, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whenever I review reports at UAA, I try to look at the names in a vacuum. If I hadn't seen the user's contributions, I don't think I would have connected "Rasavada" with a company name. However, since there does seem to be a problem (but it's not a blatant violation), I would encourage you to bring up the issue at the conflict of interest noticeboard or the request for comment (username) page. If you have futher questions, just let me know. TNXMan 02:56, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I highly disagree that isn't a blatant violation from past experience of UFA with an account that I don't use anymore. Whenever I made reports like that, the editor always got blocked. Iowateen (talk) 02:58, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'm sorry we disagree. I've reviewed the report, but you're free to ask another admin to give their input. If there's anything else I can do, let me know. TNXMan 03:00, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Juggernauts

I see no reason why this article was deleted. Can you explain please? ~Kyle (talk) 10:45, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've redirected the song to the album because there is no evidence of individual notability. Once the song has been released and/or charted, then there might be enough material to warrant a separate article. TNXMan 11:30, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[1] Earlypsychosis (talk) 03:43, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like a good edit. Remember, though, that users can remove warnings from their talk page which implies that they have read the messages and have discarded them. However, when they replace the content with "penis" repeated ad nauseum, it's fine to revert it. TNXMan 11:50, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete EduMation

I started an article about EduMation a few hours ago and I found out later that it was deleted by you.

Why? I didn't finish the article nor did I modify to fit Wikipedia's standards —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.201.1.30 (talk) 14:37, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article was deleted because it did not indicate why it was notable. I would encourage you to read our info on what makes a website notable, our guide to writing your first article, and our info on how to reliably source articles. After you've read those, you can work on the article in a sandbox in your userspace. That way you can improve it before moving it to the mainspace. TNXMan 14:46, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell me what to do so that my page "Social Mobile Marketing" is not deleted?

There are a few things you can do. I would suggest reading our guide to writing your first article and our info on how to support articles with reliable sources. Your article reads very much like an essay instead of an encyclopedia article. If you have questions, let me know. TNXMan 17:39, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted my page

Why did you delete my page "Brady Granstaff"? There is no reason for that and i read the policies. It is a page about someone who is on a radio show frequently and lots of people know who he is... Don't just delete pages about people because you have not heard of them. There is plenty of people on wikipedia people have not heard of. Sorry if I am not good at writing articles but I might need help with that page.

About Health Pages

Sofrosiune (talk) 11:59, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Tnxman307,
After your suggestions, I changed my username (healthpages) and now I can edit an article.
About my first article I would be grateful, if you could help me.
My article concern a Health Search Engine like Healia, SearchMedica, TRIP Database, WebMD, etc..
I used a style, contents and a language similar to above-mentioned articles.
Please, can you give me good tips to improve this article?
Thanks!
Sofrosiune

Just as a note, I've removed the article, but I did look it over. It's a decent start, but you need two things. The first thing you need to do is show why the company is notable. Our guideline on corporate notability is the most applicable one. Secondly, you'll need to cite independent reliable sources to support the info in the article. I would suggest working on the article in a sandbox (you can use User:Sofrosiune/Sandbox, for example). That way you can make improvements without worrying about deletion. And it was a piss-poor report on my part. I only recently began to follow The Rescuers, and the revived attention to the article attracted the Disney Vandal. The editor's previous contributions seemed to show that it was an old sock that the DV revived to continue evading the indefinite ban. —Erik (talkcontrib) 21:44, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article submission

Hi Tnxman307,

Sorry about the article I've uploaded about F1stNews. You eliminated it according to "A7: No indication that the article may meet guidelines for inclusion: G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion" but that was not my intention. F1stnews its a project in the very beginning, besides the bases that I wrote in the article (that already are implemented) I want it also to be a kind of social networking for F1 fans. So I checked the contents of for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facebook, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hi5_(website) and I thought I could do the same.

Anyway I investigate a bit more and if I'm not able to create this article in wikipedia, can I do it on wikinews? Then when I have all the project finished maybe finally I can wrote the article here in wikipedia, no?

PS - Can I have access to what I wrote? I forgot to make a backup in my pc :(

Thanks a lot and sorry for my misunderstood Diogo Rodrigues —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thyogo (talkcontribs) 08:19, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In order for F1stNews to have an article on Wikipedia, it must demonstrate why it is notable and must also be supported by reliable sources. I have provided you a copy in a sandbox in your userspace where you can work on the article (it can be found here). You may also want to look at our info on writing your first article. Please review revised "Still Water" page

Hi Tnxman,

Per your helpful suggestions, I have revised the originally deleted page on the University of Maine's Still Water lab, primarily to cut out advertising-like language and add external references to show notability.

Would you please review the new version and let me know if you feel it is ready for reinstatement?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jon_Ippolito/Sandbox

I'm happy to clarify any additional issues or make further changes you might recommend. As always, thanks for your feedback!

Jon Ippolito (talk) 23:35, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like you are off to a good start. There are two things that will help. The most important one is independent third-party coverage of the subject in reliable sources. The info in the "Selected Press" is a start, but some of the sources listed don't mention Still Water at all (rather, it seems to mention related projects?). Secondly, you may want to check out the {{cite web}} template. It goes between the <ref> and </ref> tags and will give the article a cleaner look. Let me know if you have further questions. Best, TNXMan 00:18, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Strategy Companion

Dear Tnxman307, I already removed all improper commercial pictures and followed the writing styles like all other articles under the Business intelligence tools, please help me to understand the reason of the deletion, thank you very much.

Analyzer2004 (talk) 14:29, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article was deleted because it appeared to be advertising. I would encourage you to read our info on writing your first article, how to write from a neutral point of view, and our business FAQ. TNXMan 14:34, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tnxman307, thanks for your guidance. I'll try to rewrite it again, and if you feel it's still improper, is it possible to let me know before you delete it, thank you very much. Analyzer2004 (talk) 14:38, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you are going to try to re-write it, please do so in a sandbox in your userspace. This will allow you to work on the article first. Just click on this redlink -> User:Analyzer2004/Sandbox to get started. TNXMan 14:39, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tnxman307, how about this? [2] Analyzer2004 (talk) 14:42, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It still appears to be very promotional. You'll need to remove the peacock terms and provide independent reliable sources. TNXMan 14:49, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Tnxman307,User:Analyzer2004/Sandbox, please review and advise, thanks for your time. Analyzer2004 (talk) 15:16, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It looks much better now, however, there is one last thing the article needs: independent reliable sources. The sources listed are two research papers sponsored by the company, so those cannot be considered independent. Are there are third-party reviews of the software or articles of that nature? TNXMan 15:27, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Tnxman307, thanks for your advice. Is there anything I have to do to publish this article? Analyzer2004 (talk) 15:33, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Like I mentioned above, you'll need to include reliable sources in the article, otherwise, it runs the risk of being proposed for deletion. In order to publish the article, you'll need to move the page to the mainspace. TNXMan 15:38, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Tnxman307, I removed those two sources and will find other independent sources. BTW, I added some descriptions back to the article without those peacock termsUser:Analyzer2004/Sandbox, can you review it again? Thanks again. Analyzer2004 (talk) 15:43, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It looks much better. Once you add the independent sources, you should be ready to go. TNXMan 15:58, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, Tnxman307. Analyzer2004 (talk) 16:11, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bother you again. I just posted the article Strategy Companion and got anther warning CSD A7, I already provided some independent sources for references. Is there still anything I did wrong? Thanks. Analyzer2004 (talk) 16:23, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't appear so. I've declined the speedy deletion, as it appears that you did list some independent coverage. However, there is still a chance that the article may be taken to the articles for deletion page. TNXMan 16:42, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Tnxman307, I'll keep all you advices in my mind and write better articles in the future, thanks again. Analyzer2004 (talk) 16:50, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tnx, those "independent sources" consisted of press releases and two "studies" sponsored by Strategy Companion! Once you delete those, there's not much left to even assert, much less verify, notability. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:02, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the coverage was/is thin, but this looked like it contained some good info, as did this. The "studies" were of something of which I was aware and mentioned to the author earlier. I really didn't think the article was ready for the mainspace, but do think there is enough to avoid a speedy deletion. However OM, I respect your opinion and if you feel it should be deleted, I would understand where you're coming from. TNXMan 19:20, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

5a Phtyo -Technology

Dear Sir,

I am writing to ask why my page regarding 5a Phyto-Technology was deleted? This is a patented technology and I believe its definition is encyclopedic.

I am simply asking for a reason concerning the deletion. I did not find the page to be unambiguous advertising or promotion.

How can Porsche, Ferrari or Rolex maintain a page but I cannot define a patented technology that does not reference its maker or products that may use the technolgy?

Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response.

Regards, Peter--Ctrlclrskn (talk) 19:35, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article was deleted because it appeared to be advertising. The article started by describing acne (its formation, appearance, etc.) in some detail. However, the part of article that talked about the subject (5a Phyto-Technology), was mostly marketing speak and peacock terms. I would encourage you to read our info on writing neutrally and our info notability. TNXMan 19:44, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

new user -- many questions

Hi -- I am a new user and really have no idea what I am doing. I created a page -- and hit -- save; of course I thought I was saving as a draft, but I don't know where it is now and it is not ready to be live. It is just a biography of somebody, but it needs work. So here are my questions: 1. where can I put this article so that it is in a draft place where I can work on it over the new few days before it gets made live; 2. when it is time to go live, is there a special "live" button I hit or does it get there automatically (although i think in my subsequent reading I have determined that the Wiki editors review everything before it goes live and it takes four days -- is that right) 3. in the heading of the person on my draft it said my username then slash the name of the person I am writing about -- is that how it will appear when its live (because I don't want it to look like that.) thanks so much -- I promise to read all the information more carefully rather than just plowing ahead, which is what I did.Executive Counsel (talk) 18:32, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Missed message

Greetings. Sorry, I missed a message because I have been doing research on articles for this site, answering questions on WikiAnswers, writing articles on WikiSpecies but mostly busy with my girlfriend. Could you please look at Top 10 Deadliest snakes and what I have written on discussion page. I am still writing articles on Aust snakes but this page doesn't look too good to me Euc (talk) 16:56, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't look too great, but the best thing you can do is add reliable sources. If you have those, you may be able to post to the reptile wikiproject to see if someone can help you fix up the article some. TNXMan 11:53, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There are no reliable sources. Those I have, indicate the article is almost a complete guess. My sources, on my user page and on the discussion page of the articles, indicate an entirely different sequence but I have no data on many of the reptiles he mentions. I'll check out the reptile community as you suggest. Thanks Euc (talk) 21:53, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck, and if there's anything else with which I can help, let me know. TNXMan 13:57, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Revenue Operations Center and Operations Optimization pages

Dear Tnxman,

Checked out your reasons for deleting these pages.

While I agree with notability guidelines ... what would you do in case you are planning to define something for the first time and hopefully take it to wider acceptance in the near term. In that case you will not find too much of a discussion going on currently about that topic. So currently the topic may not satisfy notability guidelines. But there is a very good chance that these topics might become very well accepted in near time.

What does a person do in such a case? Can he still not post those topics on Wikipedia?

—Preceding unsigned comment added by Rickyrawal (talkcontribs) 08:49, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, no. It sounds like you are asking about neologisms, which Wikipedia does not accept. In order for a subject to have an article, it must be covered in independent, third-party reliable sources. The best idea is to wait until the term has received such coverage and then attempt to write an article. You may also want to read our info on writing your first article and how to write from a neutral point of view. TNXMan 11:50, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just FYI: I restored the Give Kids The World article which you deleted in late March. You deleted it as blatant advertising, but looking at it today I feel that it could be salvaged. I brought it back and deleted the worst part of it. It could still use more work, but I think the worst is past. - Brian Kendig (talk) 17:59, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, not meaning to bust your chops about it. It may not be applicable at all, as you are an admin (vandal magnet) anyway. (No since counting unless you've been a target already, am I right? LOL. I don't think the system could handle it; it would cripple the wiki... Aunt Entropy (talk) 20:26, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable Sources

I see the submission was declined due no reliable sources. Not sure what you mean by that. The source provided to you was the home page of Artrom Galley. In order to view Marty's published works, the source would be http://www.artromgallery.com/guild_directory/marty_martinez.htm. He also won a photography contest through this same site which can be viewed at http://www.artromgallery.com/Revealed/marty_martinez.htm. Also, printed copies of Dick Blick's Winter catalogs are available if you need more proof of his notability.

Please advise. Duease (talk) 22:19, 21 May 2009 (UTC)Duease[reply]

The submission must have independent third-party source, which must be reliable according to Wikipedia's standards. What needs to be done in order to keep the page up? Whogilihagala (talk) 13:33, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The page needs indicate why the subject is notable and support the claims of notability with independent reliable sources. I would encourage you to read our info on writing your first article and writing from a neutral point of view. TNXMan 13:59, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

HealthForceOntario Marketing and Recruitment Agency

I am trying to create a Wikipedia page for the above and you have blocked it with an A7 code.

Please let me know why you have blocked it. We are a provincial government agency in Canada that is an offshoot of the HealthForceOntario strategy.

The page needs indicate why the subject is notable and support the claims of notability with independent, third-party reliable sources. I would encourage you to read our info on writing your first article and writing from a neutral point of view. Also, you may want to read our info on advertising and why it is not allowed.
