Productivity Quality Systems, Inc. (PQ Systems, Inc) is an American multinational corporation that provides quality improvement software and training. It was founded in Dayton, OH in 1984 by Michael J. Cleary, Ph.D., a professor of management science (emeritus) at Wright State University[1]. A UK office was formed in 1987 and Dr. Jackie Graham opened an Australia office in 1989.[2]

PQ Systems developers several quality assurance software packages such as CHARTrunner, SQCpack EZ, and GAGEpack.

About

PQ Systems is a privately-held company that helps organizations improve quality by applying statistics. Manufacturing and healthcare are two primary markets it serves. PQ Systems develops software that helps organizations monitor their processes and meet the requirements of national standards such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and ISO 9000, as well as quality methodologies such as Six Sigma and the Baldrige National Quality Program.[3][4]

Founding

PQ Systems, Inc was founded by Michael Cleary, Ph.D. and incorporated in 1984. The first software package, SQCpack, was developed by his son, Sean Cleary.[2]

Before founding PQ Systems, Inc., Cleary was a professor at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, where he taught management science courses.

Cleary made several contributions to the quality management field. He has been a part of several projects and programs including the Transformation of American Industry national training project and the Total Quality Transformation training system. He has also presented papers to audiences in Korea, China, France, Great Britain, Australia, Singapore, and Japan on statistical process control and the applications of quality management principles. He is the author of “Data Analysis Handbook Using SPSS”,[1] [5] and currently serves as the President of PQ Systems, Inc.

Software

PQ Systems produces various software packages aimed at regulated industries such as healthcare and manufacturing.

CHARTrunner

CHARTrunner is an SPC charting application that links to data from outside sources such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Oracle Databases, etc. The application creates control charts, Pareto charts, histograms, and run charts. Since the application doesn’t actually store the data, it will fetch current data from the source every time you open a chart.

GAGEpack

GAGEpack is a database application for the organization of gages such as micrometers, plugs, scales, etc. The application is designed to store all the data for gages such as history, calibration steps, procedures, name, location, vendors, next calibration date, etc. and alert the user when a gage is due for calibration or is in need of servicing. The application also performs measurement systems analysis (MSA).

SQCpack

SQCpack is an SPC charting application that creates control charts, Pareto charts, histograms, and run charts. The application has data entry and data storage capabilities.
