Template:Contains Korean text Sunny (born May 15, 1989), real name Lee Sun-kyu, is a Korean singer and member of the girl group Girls' Generation (Korean: 소녀시대), formed by SM Entertainment in 2007. She's the shortest member in Girls' Generation but she's the one with the most aegyo.

Biography

Sunny was born in United States, and later moved to Kuwait. However, her family then moved back to South Korea because of the Gulf War.[1]

In 1998, Sunny entered Starlight (one of SM Academy) and became a trainee for 5 years before transferring to Starworld where she became a member of a duet called "Sugar" which never debuted.[2][3]

In 2007, she was then recommended by the singer Ahyoomee, who transferred to SME.[3] After several months of training under SM Entertainment, Sunny debuted as a member of Girls' Generation that same year. She was a co-DJ of ChunJi until the broadcast ended in July 2008.

Sunny is also the niece of Lee Soo Man, the founder of SM Entertainment. She also revealed that her father was in Hwaljooro, the famous college band with Bae Chul-soo, a famous radio DJ and the host of show 7080.[2]

Sunny appeared in Super Junior-H's music video for "Cooking? Cooking!".

Sunny also sung "Finally Now" on the soundtrack for the movie "Story of Wine".

She featured on the "Heading to the Ground" soundtrack, singing a duet with Taeyeon called "SarangInGulYo" and another song titled "Motion" performed with the vocal line of the group.

"S.E.O.U.L." song with Super Junior's Kyuhyun, Leeteuk, Ryeowook, Sungmin and Donghae and fellow group members Seohyun, Sooyoung, Jessica and Taeyeon.

Sunny alongside with Yuri are part of reality show "Invincible Youth", which they will be part of G7 (consisting of 7 girls from popular idol groups).[4] Because of Girls' Generation's international promotions, Sunny will leave the show along with Hyuna and Yuri in June 2010.[5]

She also co-hosted a music show called "The M" with SS501's Kim Hyung-jun and 2AM's Seulong but had to leave the show due to her busy schedules. Her last appearance as an MC for the show was on April 4, 2010.[6]

In April 2010, she sang "그대 인형 (My Doll)" for "Oh! My Lady OST".
