Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, commonly called Ned's Declassified for short, is an American live-action situation comedy on Nickelodeon that debuted in the channel's Sunday night TEENick scheduling block on September 12, 2004. The series' actual pilot episode aired on September 7, 2003 without many of the current version's main characters. The main series finale television movie aired on June 8, 2007.
The visual effects were done by Robin Snelson. The show was produced by Apollo ProScreen GmbH & Co. Filmproduktion KG in association with Jack Mackie Pictures. Its main executive producer and creator is Scott Fellows, the head writer for The Fairly OddParents, which is why in the short titled "Day Dreaming," which aired on February 5, 2005, Cosmo and Wanda appeared (the former was portrayed by Daran Norris, who plays Gordy the janitor in this show).
Premise
Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide follows the lives of Ned, Cookie and Moze, three best friends and their adventures in James K. Polk Middle School. The school lunch is alive, the teachers are crazy, and the janitor, Gordy, has never cleaned anything in his life, yet still has a job at the school. The show deals with social problems, as well as academic subjects like friends, lockers, projects, social studies, tests, etc. Each episode focuses on one main issue students normally encounter while providing tips on how to handle these situations.
Awards
In November 2007, the series won the Global Entertainment Award for best kids' programming of the millennium, in a ceremony held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Actors Devon Werkheiser and Lindsey Shaw were there on behalf of the staff to accept the award.
Locations
The show takes place at the fictional James K. Polk Middle School, in California (the flag can be seen in the school's entrance hall). The exterior of the school was filmed at La Mesa Junior High in Santa Clarita, California. The school is named after the 11th President of the United States, James K. Polk. The school's colors are gold and green and the mascot is the Wolves, which is a constant theme throughout the school's interior.
During Season 1, all of the show's action took place within the school, and with the exception of one or two notable occasions, everything happened indoors. However, during Season 2, the shows producers decided they wanted more exterior scenes, so more outdoor shots were used, and on certain occasions, the show took place off school property.

Episodes
Shelved spin-off
In June 2008, Werkheiser signed a development contract with Nickelodeon for a spin-off that would deal with his character's adventures in high school.[4] The show has not put the green light on yet as of December 2009, due to Daniel Curtis Lee being committed to his new show Zeke and Luther. It is unknown if Lindsey has signed a contract but her show has been canceled. Werkheiser has also commented in a YouTube video that there would not be a continuation of the show, citing budget issues at Nickelodeon as the main reason.[5]

The series has also been broadcast in the Philippines, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Brazil, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Israel, Ireland, Argentina, El Salvador, South Africa, the Netherlands, Belgium, New Zealand, Colombia, Singapore, Venezuela and Canada.
