File mover (add request)

User:Hohenloh

Experienced editor, familiar with the relevant policies, and all my uploaded files over the past couple of years have descriptive titles. I would like to gain further experience in this area and help out with these tasks. Hohenloh + 05:22, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
done enough uploading and moving, I can't find any commons account or non-free work though. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:15, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have been concentrating on a number of other areas up to now (member of several projects, etc. and improving the over 170 created articles). This is an area that interests me and I'd like to get involved and help out. Hohenloh + 15:50, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
My Commons account has the same name as my Wikipedia account.Hohenloh + 23:24, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done - note you have some talk messages on commons. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:12, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks! Hohenloh + 20:00, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Diego Grez

I'd like to help moving files to more appropriate names here. I've been a file mover at Commons for some time, and know well the policies regarding this special right. Would do well with it. Thanks. Diego Grez (talk) 21:49, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Restrictions on editing were lifted on January 10 and no new socks have been detected.[1] Please some other admin decide! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:08, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Note I've been free to edit Wikipedia since May. Well, you should know better just by clicking that link ;) I am a rollbacker, autopatroller and reviewer here, too. Diego Grez (talk) 03:33, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Done. Diego has been a good wiki-citizen since his return from restrictions, and there's not much trouble this flag can get him into, anyway. Courcelles 07:48, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! --Diego Grez (talk) 22:14, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Robert Skyhawk

Experienced with files, having worked at Files for upload on and off for quite some time. Robert Skyhawk (T C) 03:40, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done although extant Wikipedia file work is not much, there is plenty of commons and deleted work. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:23, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks much! Robert Skyhawk (T C) 17:36, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Ktr101

I have been a big supporter of this right from the moment that Sven proposed it because I have really felt as though a lot of images that I have edited should be under more descriptive names. I have also uploaded many older images that are under the old file settings and I would love to move them to better names. Thank you. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 07:23, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again! Kevin Rutherford (talk) 17:33, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Nomader

I've uploaded over a hundred images, mostly for video game articles, and there's a chance based on recent discussions that the images will need to be moved. This userright would really help expedite the process instead of having to put over a hundred request move templates on these images if the discussion comes back up again, and would help if I need to move one of the images I've uploaded. Thanks! Nomader (Talk) 17:52, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am very experienced at image uploading, tagging with fair-use rationales and delete notices. I feel that if this permission was granted to me, I would be able to help the encyclopedia progress. It's Malpass 93! (drop me a ___) 17:59, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:MC10

Although I do not have as many edits in the File namespace as I would like, I have read through and understand the file renaming policies, and feel that this right will be useful for maintenance work. mc10 (t/c) 21:17, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Have you ever wanted or needed to move a file? Do you have any experience in the filsespace other than uploading and creating images? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:21, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have not uploaded too many files at Wikipedia (only for fair use purposes), so my experience here is limited, but I wish I had that tool in the Commons to fixed spelling mistakes, change names to produce more consistent series, etc.--Mariordo (talk) 01:38, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Headbomb

I do lots of gnoming work. Wouldn't use this much, but I understand the filemove guidelines, and it does come up every once in a while. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 01:33, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:EricSerge

I have read and understand policies on file naming and moving. I have uploaded quite a few files, and through trial, error, and experience I believe that I am a good wikipedian in this area. This would be a useful user right since I have started to do some maintenance tasks while participating in the Great Backlog Drive 2011. Thanks for your consideration EricSerge (talk) 04:42, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not done needs more experience with moving, fair use and commons. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:21, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:FleetCommand

I've been in Wikipedia since 2006 and I often work with (upload, improve descriptions, move to Commons, request deletion) files, especially screenshots of software. I have never requested many renames due to backlog reasons but I've known about the rename policy for a long time. Not only this user right can ease my job, but I can also attend rename requests. I promise I use this privilege wisely. Fleet Command (talk) 06:24, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Bedford

I've uploaded almost 1000 to the English Wikipedia, some of which I have given the wrong name to after further research. This would be a help. King Bedford I Seek his grace 06:36, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Bedford has done a lot of file uploading, and a fair bit of moving, but seems to have trouble with the request and has no reason yet. Bedford has made minimal use of commons. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:56, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Alan Liefting

I occasionally upload files to WP and Commons. Some files on WP could do with more descriptive names. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 08:14, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Pmlineditor

Not really that active here, but sometimes I come across file names that convey no meaning (such as DSC0001), which I could move if I come across one. FWIW, I have filemover rights in commons, and sysop rights in meta, enwikinews etc. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 14:50, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done While you're not heavily active with images here at the moment, your work on Commons (helped by having this right there) clearly shows you have experience with images. Acalamari 21:11, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Trevj

Hi. I'm uploading a few new images in connection with a WikiProject. It may be logical to move some existing images in order to harmonize filenames. I'm becoming increasingly conversant with Wikipedia policies and this permission would save having to place {{rename media}} requests. Granting of this permission would also mean I could change some other meaningless names etc. as I browse through Wikipedia - in a similar way to my edits for typos and wikilinks. Thanks for considering my request. trevj (talk) 08:33, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Casperruegg

The main thing I do on Wikipedia is edit and converting Raster image to SVG's, and this feature would make it a lot easier for me to do so. I've had a lot of issues with file names and i'm hoping this will help me to eliminate raster images when possible. Also, I would be able to help Wikipedia to organize the file database Casperruegg (talk) 12:21, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am a fairly experienced Wikidia editor, and have great comprehension of the related policies here. I mostly just "gnome" around on Wikidia, but have found this permission would have been helpful on more than one occassion. AGiorgio08 talk 15:25, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
