Mountaineering

I was wondering what articles you'd like to edit, I would like to reference the list of climbers and that is gonna be a huge task, if you wanna help, drop me a line! Mattaidepikiw (talk) 12:21, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject SUNY

We have adopted the following importance scale for the WikiProject:

  • Top - Major system-wide article(s) - State University of New York
  • High - System-wide articles and main articles on University centers - Stony Brook University
  • Mid - Main articles on other SUNY units - State University of New York Upstate Medical University
  • Low - everything else (including most daughter articles on particular campus topics - Statutory college

So all of the community colleges were assigned "Low" importance and most of the 4-year colleges were assigned "Mid" importance. 66.173.140.100 (talk) 16:49, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for that star, it is indeed encouraging! My view on editing WP is that is a game (and a break from work on slow days lol) and I will continue to work on said article to the best of my abilities. (Not a |33T programmer here LOL) I am just wondering, are you a mod or something? A simple user cannot send such marks of appreciation, am I right? Cheers. Mattaidepikiw (talk) 20:48, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Anyone can send barnstars and awards to any user; to give the award to someone, just place the image on their talk page (or their awards page), and say why you have given it to them. If you are sure the barnstar is appropriate, don't be shy! You may want to take a look at Wikipedia:Barnstars for more info. Happy Editing! Cj005257 (talk) 20:58, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for pointing this out! I'll sure award this if somebody is willing to help me on referencing said article, but nobody seems to be in a rush, even though I messaged people on WikiProject Climbing. If you happen to know good people with time to burn, I want to reference the article eventually, it is going to be a huge task! Mattaidepikiw (talk) 21:08, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback

Hello, Cj005257. You have new messages at MSGJ's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Reviewer permission

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:06, 18 March 2011 (UTC) [reply]

interview request

Hello, My name is Natalia Olaru and I am a final year master student in the Corporate Communication programme at the Aarhus School of Business in Denmark. I am currently working on my final paper on the topic of the motivation of users to create content on collaborative media websites, the focus being Wikipedia. As a sample I chose the English and Danish portals. I would like to invite you for an online interview on the topic of what motivates you, as a user, to participate in editing and creating articles for this platform. Your real identity, and wikipedia account will be kept confidential through the paper. I plan on doing the actual interviews in the period between 6st and the 15th of May via Skype, MSN, Google Talk or Yahoo Messenger. I am, however, open to other channels of communication too. Please let me know if you would like to participate in this interview and the preferred channel. Thank you, Natalia Olaru --MulgaEscu (talk) 11:47, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
