In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the dakon is a monstrous humanoid. Dakon are native to the World of Greyhawk campaign setting.

A dakon is usually lawful neutral.

Publication history

The dakon first appeared in the first edition in the original Fiend Folio (1981).[1]

The dakon appeared in the second edition in Dragon #187 (November 1992).[2] It also received a brief entry in the Monstrous Manual under the "mammal" entry.

The dakon appeared in the third edition in Living Greyhawk Journal #5 (March 2002).[3]

Description

Dakons are described as shaggy, intelligent apes with a reasonable grasp of language. A dakon is usually light brown in color, with green eyes and black hands.[1]

Dakon language is largely based on hoots, grunts, finger and hand gestures, and body postures.

Environment

Dakon are jungle dwellers. They are most common in the Amedio Jungle.

The dakon appeared in the Tome of Horrors (2002) from Necromancer Games.[4]
